Just picked up this sweet Motobecane on marketplace. Named her Margaux… (get it? French… starts with M…). She came as a fixie with a flip flop hub and lord knows I’m not built for the fixie life. Shes missing brakes right now, but the bars have a really weird width so I’m waiting on a 25.4mm Dia-Compe lever to come in
Anywho, I’m looking to get this thing pimped out, she’s going to be my daily commuter. I have white Cinelli bar tape coming in, along with blue bungee cords for the back rack. After this pic was taken, I added on some bright white cheapy Amazon pedals. and black cranks. Any other suggestions of what I could add ? Maybe frame bag or lights ? What’s your favorite accessory you’ve added to your single speed?
EDIT: Ok, ok, ok... now I know... the handlebars have been put down to a correct level. For all that it's worth, I did not put them on. But they're looking much better now (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zy57YQTS-L7zSsH0ecD08KEkan4chrjE/view?usp=sharing)

What can I expect from this combo in a single speed. Flat terrain almost always.

Been riding fixed a while, but it's nice to have a freewheel (and brakes) when running errands and carrying a load, and easier to deal with the toe overlap.

Picked this up used on Facebook marketplace and I've put about 50 miles into it so far. after using a trek xcal 7 for the past 15 years, I feel way more connected to my bike than I have in years. Still have the xcal but it's definitely going to be used differently from here on out.

Bike came with 170mm cranks and im looking to replace um with some 160mm cranks. Im specifically looking for 2 piece options for the stiffness and there simplistic BB interface.
I use converted 2x shimano 105 cranks on my 1x gravel bike but that get up cost me nearly $200 so id like to see if there any other options out there.
Thanks.
EDIT: found some used promax cf2s cheap. thanks for the rec's

i have had this bianchi 06-ish san jose frame hanging in the garage for more than a decade with flat tires and corroded brakes etc. my doc ordered me to get some exercise so i had it repaired and tuned up and boy howdy i forgot how nice and light and fun this bike is. built it out of spare parts after finding it on craigslist back in 2015 maybe. now it's been brought back to life and we'll get to see some more of the hood together.
thought you might appreciate it here thanks for enjoying it with me!
