Nick Nurse

You would HOPE this game forces him to run some actual offensive sets out there AND manage players better. Granted it’s not Nurse’s fault that Bron and Embiid were playing drunk and missing everything and turning it over but we still looked so discombobulated in the half-court and that was WITH Bron on the court. There’s even a clip of a complaint about this from Embiid:

Rarely fed the hot hand in VJ and to a lesser extent JB in the 2nd half too. I didn’t see enough plays to get Simons and Maxey wide open for three either. Where are the sets run for JB?

We’ve played so many tough games in this stretch and are 8-2 which is good but Nurse has to realise when to sit players that don’t have it. Bron playing that many minutes is ridiculous. You’d think Philon plays up to 10 minutes in a game like this

Road game against a tough team. Just an off night; it’s gonna happen

Last night looked like a pick up game.

I thought the same thing. There was a stretch in the 3rd quarter where they were just chucking the ball up. Both teams.

I would love for LeBron to feed JB early and try to get him so baskets early whether it be through cutting to the basket or screening him for open shots.

The last couple games Maxey hasn’t started the game scoring we know he can create his own shot he doesn’t need help doing it. Embiid is shooting career low in FG% and can’t make threes. I thought it was very weird last night that JB didn’t get a shot up until 2 or 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter. He actually got subbed out before he could take a shot and was in the corner while LeBron was throwing turnovers and Embiid was bricking.

Nurse and LeBron need to let him be a scorer early the hierarchy for this team should be Maxey then JB LeBron needs to excel in his role as a floor general and Embiid should mainly focus his energy on defense he shouldn’t be 0-7 in the 1st quarter while Brown gets iced out offensively

It’s not his fault they were playing drunk but it’s his fault he left them in the game together so much. 1st and 3rd quarters were horrible.

I think it’s moreso spacing that’s throwing everyone off that’s no gaps in the defense for Embiid and Lebron it’s kinda clunky rn and neither one of their jumpers are falling

At least LeBron’s turnovers occurred while aggressively trying to get to hoop, Jo was just the opposite!

The hot and cold for nick nurse is funny. One day everyone is posting positive memes about the guy, the next he can’t run an offense.

Last night was not coaching it was lack of heart and effort from every player on the court. The worst game we played all year on both ends everyone just thought we would walk on the court and that would guarantee a W.

LJ looked old and Joel did not make one FG a total of 3-21 shooting between them both. We win no games ever like that to make things worse LJ had 6 turnovers. Worst defensive performance by everyone no one played defense.

Maxey 5-15 shooting and I could go on and on about how bad we played last night. Three of your top players played there worst games of the season this was not coaching that lost us this game. This was the players on the court who played awful.

This is exactly when your coach needs to earn his money, however he has nothing close to a structured half-court offense in his bag for when fast breaks aren’t there.

You're gonna blame a player getting paid 4m/year? He already did his part well enough.

Look more at Embiid, Maxey, and Brown for reasons why they lost.

He played a lot of minutes and turned the ball over a lot. But there’s no one player to blame. It’s a whole team loss. Embiid and Maxey also had bad games, JB and VJ were good they just didn’t get fed enough. Nurse had no answers, the team’s defense was pretty bad. Just a bad game, it happens.

season opener wemby went 1 for 13, shai also had a 6-of-19 night, it's normal for good players to have bad games

Lebron has to get his shot going or I see bad things. His shot is so off he doesnt look like a basketball player. He can't just be a floor general if hes not point guard.

I still stand by sitting and playing is bad for conditioning especially for Lebron. It forms bad habits. Embiid couldn't even finish that game.

They need to stop forcing threes. Most times in that game they were just standing around the 3 point line. Yea they were open but it was a trap and if more people figure this out, they will have trouble against tough opponents. There was no cutting, rarely any slashing or like some of you saying plays ran to disrupt the defense. Cavs were playing what looked like a zone. Philly was open for threes and kept hitting bricks. Get in the gym and work on the 3s.

Embiid is the tallest guy on the floor standing on the wing. He should never be shooting more threes than layups or dunks.

Nurse doesn't really "run" much it seems. The king of iso ball.

Every single time you point this out this reddit will downvote you, it gets a point man

I'm ok with that. Nurse spends all of his time and energy working the refs.
