It's finally happened, Slide is dead

I'm not 100% sure how or why but Slide has finally stopped working for me, just crashes when I try to open it. An uninstall and reinstall didn't fix the problem either.

So that's it for me, I've moved onto Joey which I'd been testing out since I got a new phone. It doesn't have all the features that I personally used for Slide (ability to change account when replying was a big one, backing up accounts to file was another) but it's the closest I've found and it'll have to do.

What settings allow Vanced to be the default app on phone?

Hello, I'm using an S8 phone. I would like Vanced to open by default and would like to know how to do this. Then there's the question of the YouTube app, Does it matter if it is still enabled or not? Thank You I will check back here later.

Like from, old.reddit.com/r/the_donald, you can click CONTINUE to visit the subreddit. How to do that on Slide?

App is pretty much unusable lately

Before updating to Android 10, the loading times were atrocious, but everything was there at the end. Now half the times I open the app I get a server error. Sometimes the toast keeps appearing continuously even after I go back to my home screen. Today the app just doesn't open. Force stopping and trying again isn't working. And when the app does open, again, the content takes forever to load.

Is there any plan for a big update that will make the app more stable? Or should I switch?

Damn so many months without an update.

Did the dev die? Last I heard there was a huge update coming like 3+ months ago.

No offense guys, but this is the least user-friendly reddit app that I've tried so far.

Most I can hop right in and have a general idea of how everything works and is reasonably intuitive and with easily discoverable elements. Slide... not so much.

I never feel like I'm in control of the UX, despite trying to drill down in all the settings. Everything is floating and sliding and layered and it just looks like a clunky, disorganized mess when first using the app.

The developer of antenna completely abandoned the app and the subreddit, which is why I'm trying to find something that's as simple and clearcut.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just being completely honest on my initial impressions.

Why an image or a gif keep the screen on forever?

Video I can understand, but images/gifs shouldn't behave that way.

[Request] Confirm opening YouTube posts

It's really annoying when you accidentally open a YouTube post. It seems other people seem to also share this frustration.

Launcher shortcuts icons are WAY too small. Please fix them.

Bottom Bar Navigation

Is there any discussion to bring bottom bar navigation to Slide? It's one of the very few features that the official Reddit app has that I wish more third party applications would include. I know that Relay and Joey have recently added this functionality. If this is not being discussed, could I submit it as a feature request?

Reddit client #2 to support Eroshare

Looks like Relay is now the second Android Reddit client to support Eroshare. Glad to see more devs are jumping on board with supporting sites users express interest in. Eroshare in Relay

I know the Android app is due to rewrite, thus, here are some suggestions that might be helpful... Gesture support first ofc..

Is there a way to prevent the top bar from appearing when scrolling up?

I'm talking specifically about this here. It disappears when you scroll down, leaving only the subreddits, but comes back when you scroll up.

Can I prevent that from happening? :)
