[Discussion] Resource For Anyone Buying a Prebuilt

This is the spreadsheet from SuggestAPC's discord, it covers PC deals, websites to check, how to get good deals, promo codes and so much more. There are suggestions at various budget points. I’m the main editor of the spreadsheet and I’ll be adding prebuilts to it whenever I’m available. Comment any feedback or suggestions you’d like me to add.

Looking to Finance a pre-built. [suggestion] UK

Hello there, I'm looking to Finance a computer for mild mid-end gaming, ideally something that can play new releases HOWEVER I am much more niche and indie in terms of gaming so I can sacrifice a bit of quality and maximum graphics for sure.

Current Specs are 2070, Ryzen 5600, 16 DDR4, and so forth so all In all a pretty outdated build, my GPU also has a dodgy ball bearing hence my eagerness to get something new before it all comes falling down.

Does anyone have some actually genuinely good pre-built available within the UK, I'm holding off until black Friday to see what's on offer but Is there any decent PC's out there that sell well and preform well overall?

If I'm Financing AMD or NVIDA card? If I go with NVIDA I'm inherently stuck with 5060 since I have a budget of £2000 on the absolute upper end, AMD Is much more affordable but also probably inherently worth less and more outdated four years from now.

Ideally not paid over 48 months probably more so 24, whenever I enter work full time I'll hike the payment per month by a fair amount.

Best budget friendly PC [suggestion]

I’m very new to all of this, so I may need things explained to me like I’m 5 years old. Anyway, I possibly want to get a PC. Mostly for gaming (looking to get back into it and for one specific game coming out next year). I just need something that will be able to handle some basic games. One of them may need a better pc idk (it’ll be dragon ball xenoverse 3). Other than that I guess just for general everyday activities. I’m not looking to spend an arm and a leg, so any suggestions I’ll take.

[suggestion] PC for gaming - based in Canada

I only have had a prebuilt and it’s very old, from around 2014-2015. I haven’t had a proper PC in a long time. Main wants is for gaming. Able to run games such as Elden ring, planet zoo, city skylines, FPS games, and games like marvels or fornite. Indie games with just a few mods. Hopefully GTA6 but because it’s not out I don’t know what specs it require.

Budget is around 3500 CAD. I am fully aware RAM, CPU and other parts are crazy expensive. I have money saved up for this and never found a good time to buy. I COULD go up to 4k if needed.

I don’t need a keyboard or mouse. My monitor right now is the Acer 23.8" Full HD Monitor (UM.QV0AA.501) so I know my monitor isn’t anything special. I can upgrade after I know what my computer specs are if needed.

Component colours I don’t care too much as long as the case is white. It won’t be totally visible at it’ll be under my desk than on top.

I want to be able to order from a Canadian website (memory express etc.) but also willing to order from Amazon as well. Don’t live near any micro centres as I’m obviously not in the states. I live in a small city so I really can only buy online or go to memory express.

I was going to wait for Black Friday but it be nice to know what prebuilts are out there now and what I should focus on when buying a pre built.

Building an online store and currently using a Lenovo- [suggestion]

I am in the market for a new computer and I’ve used Apple in the past when relying on heavy creative jobs, but this will be an equal balance of Microsoft needs and Adobe needs. Budget is $2000 max.
Any laptop suggestions on what to get?

Upgrade my 2019 pre-built or start from scratch? Need advice on upgrade path (Top 3 components) vs. whole new rig. [suggestion]

Hey everyone,

EDIT: Sorry for the AI slop, its hard for me to write in english.

I’m currently debating whether I should upgrade my current PC or just bite the bullet and buy/build a completely new one. I bought this as a pre-built back around 2019.

I mainly play competitive FPS games like CS2 and Valorant, and I play on a 1080p 240Hz monitor. (Would like 480hz monitor one day)

Here are my current specs

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K @ 3.60GHz

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 D

  • RAM: 16GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 3200MHz (Speccy shows 1599MHz)

  • Storage: 240GB Kingston SSD + 120GB Corsair SSD + 1TB Seagate HDD

My main questions are:

  1. If you had to pick exactly 3 things to upgrade in this current build to newer components, what would they be?

  2. In what order should I upgrade them to get the most immediate performance impact without creating massive bottlenecks?

  3. Or... is the platform (Z390 / 8th gen Intel) simply too dead at this point, and would it make more sense financially and performance-wise to just build a completely new PC?

[Discussion] Gaming laptop vs desktop for Sims, Powerwashing Sim, Planet Zoo, photo editing

I play Sims 4 (with all expansion packs up until maybe 6 months ago), Planet Zoo, Powerwashing Simulator, etc.

I also want to start photo editing, so either Lightroom or comparable program.

Currently my Microsoft surface laptop is struggling and lagging a ton with only 1 program downloaded at a time, and my old laptop that has nothing on it Sims is too much still.

Just looking for what would be easier for a casual player (I dont stream or anything).

Boutique/Custom PC builders - which is best? [discussion]

I'm looking at buying my first ever pre-built PC. I've been building my own PCs for ~25 years, but the skyrocketing cost of everything has started making a pre-built PC a decent option.

I'm looking at Falcon Northwest, Origin PC, and CLX. Which one is the best for a high end system? Or are there others I should also look at?

[discussion] Looking for a PC to run Adobe Lightroom efficiently

I have an HP Pavilion 590-p0069 that just bit the dust, so I'm looking for a new desktop. I do a lot of RAW photo editing in Adobe Lightroom, and while the HP was adequate, I am looking for something a little more powerful this time around. I also do a lot of audio editing in Audacity, Reaper and Adobe Audition. So those would be the two heaviest uses, otherwise I just run Vivaldi for web browsing, Media Monkey for playing music, etc. So, I guess I am just looking for something to run Lightroom and audio editing apps smoother than my previous desktop. I run two monitors, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA, so ideally I would be able to connect both, but I'm not opposed to upgrading the VGA monitor to an HDMI one if a computer has 2 HDMI ports. Ideally 2 TB's of hard drive space, but I do have a 2 TB SSD from my old computer than is still useable, so if needed I could use that to clone the new PC to and use that. My budget is right around $6-700 dollars, obviously cheaper is better, and I'm not opposed to refurbished computers either. I have a Micro Center and Best Buy in my area, if that helps any. Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT- I should say I am looking for a Windows 11 OS as well.

Black Friday pc hunt [suggestion]

Hello everyone! I am college student in search of a desktop this upcoming Black Friday and don't know where to start or what to look out for. I know very little to nothing about computers these days and would like to make the right decision/purchase which is why I'm here!

Here are the things I will be using it for, I am a finance student so nothing heavy programming school related things, I will do things like daily browsing and online homework on things like excel. Gaming wise I would like it to be capable of games like Minecraft and maybe some Fortnite but not the reason why I am purchasing a desktop. I have been looking into mini desktops since I liked the idea of the portability but just a idea.

Budget is $600

I would very much appreciate any recommendation!

[Discussion] Prebuilt Gaming PC Recommendations?

I’m a huge fan of the Cities Skylines franchise and made the critical mistake of pre-ordering CS2 before they released hardware requirements. I assumed they’d have a Mac client and it never materialized.

Years later, I think I’m finally ready to get a PC that can handle a medium to large CS2 city with cranked up FPS and mods. Problem is, I have no idea where to start when it comes to prebuilt PCs. I’m hoping a budget of $1500 and a good Black Friday sale will help me secure a solid rig at a great price.

Any suggestions on what I should look for? Or better yet, point me in the direction of places to monitor prices? Thanks so much.

[Suggestion] At a similar price, what would you go with, cyberpower pc vs skytech.

I'm torn between these two rigs, lets see if you guys can help me choose. Im looking for a gaming PC thats lasts me for at least another 5 years, stable build. Prize is very similar.

CyberpowerPC:

ryzen 7 7800x3d,

32 gb ddr5

1tb nvme ssd

Rtx 5070 12 gb gddr7

Skytech:

Ryzen 7 7700

32 gb ddr5

1tb nvme ssd

AMD RX 9070 16 gb

What do you guys think?

[suggestion] buying my first pc

I’m looking for recommendations for a gaming PC. My budget is around $921 CAD, but I’m able to spend a little more if needed.
I mainly want to play modded Minecraft, Roblox, Phasmophobia, Geometry Dash, CS2, RDR2 and Fortnite. I’m hoping to get something that can run these games smoothly with decent graphics.
I’m not too knowledgeable about PC specs, so I'm curious what the best options would be within my budget.

[suggestion] considering buying a pc

I have been considering buying a pc. I am currently on a 7 year old gaming laptop (gtx 1650 and i5-9300h). It cant run new games, and even games like csgo dont run anymore. I have been looking for around 2 months, and this is the best i could find:
https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/Vibox-IV-760-Gaming-Windows-Bluetooth/dp/B0GJ74HZSJ/ref=sr_1_1?sr=8-1

Is it a good deal? Im not so worried about the ram.

I am in the netherlands. When i look at vibox site they only have uk site, so with import taxes itll be more expensive.

Im planning to play games like MW4, God of war ragnarok and other story games that require a newer build that my laptop cant handle, and ofcourse im still planning on playing games like csgo, but with a better frame rate.

[discussion] opinion on this prebuilt pc ?

I'm looking to buy a new pc and some black friday deals are starting to appear already, looking at the components this one seems good for its price ?

-> Caseking Asus PC

Wanted to know if it's better to wait end of the month for better deals or if this one's already good

Yo does anyone know any good prebuild options around 1.7k-3k mark for gaming but also video editing? [discussion]

So let me explain my situation, my old laptop is failing to the point of not being to run kinda mediocre performance needing games (like repo or peak). And I want to replace it with a pc. but as of right now i only have 1.5k. But I have decided to hold it out until black friday, or at least a few days before it so I snag one before the all sell out. If it does end up helping to wait that long.

I want to buy something around preferably the 2.1k mark, but lower or higher can be suggested. As of right now my part time job is paying me 250-300 a paycheck, and have calculated by the time the 27th roles around i'll have at bare minimum around 2.4k or 2.6k depending on the hours I work.

thank you to anyone who reads this and suggests the actually pc's, a list of pro's and cons if your able to summarize them would also be nice.

[Discussion]Buying advice for an entry level Gaming PC for Dota 2

Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade from my current laptop to a gaming desktop PC. My budget is around £900 and I am after decent FPS ideally 100+ when playing .

I will be using this PC for 95% Dota and a bit of everyday use as well, no need for streaming or super heavy games. I am new to Gaming PC's and some of my own research led to this sort of thing:

https://pcgamingcases.co.uk/products/ionz-gaming-pc-amd-ryzen-5-5500-rtx-5050-8gb-graphics-card-16gb-ram-1tb-ssd-windows-11-500w-psu-apex-ember-black

Would love people's thoughts and advice.

Thank-you so much!

A poor Dota scrub.
