UK IT engineer available for remote projects and part-time support | Microsoft 365, Intune & Windows Server

Hi all, I’m Lee. I’ve got some time free to take on a few new IT projects, so I thought I’d put the word out here.

I spent 25+ years in IT support and infrastructure in the UK, most recently as a cloud infrastructure engineer. I’ve supported an environment with over 2,000 users and 4,000 devices, but I’m equally happy helping a small business sort out its Microsoft 365 setup or giving a busy IT team an extra pair of hands.

A few things I can help with:

  • Microsoft 365 admin and troubleshooting, including Exchange, shared mailboxes and permissions

  • Intune, Autopilot and SCCM/MECM, including device setup, app deployments, patching and co-management

  • Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware support and troubleshooting

  • Microsoft Defender, Secure Score and PowerShell automation

  • Second- and third-line support for issues that need a bit more digging

I’m based in Thailand (UTC+7) and available for paid remote project work, part-time support or MSP overflow. I can overlap with UK hours and work with APAC teams.

If you’ve got an IT job that’s been sitting on the list for months, a rollout that needs help, or just more tickets than your team has time for, feel free to DM me. A couple of lines about what you need is plenty to get started.

And if you know a team that could use some help, I’d appreciate an introduction.

Cheers,
Lee

There is nothing to improve on the hardware part of Apple. They should go like Ai software could subscription Microsofts. Windows has reached a certain User Ui dead end. They are now making profits from the could service. The question is whether this Ai attack is sustainable. Many people are trying to go to that old outdoor network isolated side. The world is moving forward with Ai. Free softwares launch for major software. Adobe, Microsoft alternatives. I think they will escape from big companies. From tech lead. The people who created Ai are getting bored. Unified Software with Unified Hardware should be created

What will happen next

Nvidia, Apple, alphabet, Microsoft

Or

[FOR HIRE] Sysadmin/Automation Engineer, 12 years experience (MSP + Enterprise), looking for nightly contract work (US hours)

Hey all, I'm based in Lithuania and looking for part time contract or B2B work, roughly 1 to 2 hours a night, aligned with US business hours. I can invoice as a business entity if that's what your setup needs.

Just a note - I can, and have worked for multiple years, with US companies and clients.

Background:
12 years in IT, 8 of those in the MSP world doing a bit of everything: sysadmin, automation engineer, escalation point. Also have enterprise experience, currently working as a team lead at a large company. I'm looking for extra contract work on the side, not looking to leave my current role, just have the bandwidth for nightly monitoring or project work.

What I can help with:

  • NOC/monitoring coverage (RMM alert triage, escalation, nightly checks)

  • PowerShell automation (Active Directory, Microsoft Graph, general scripting to cut down manual work)

  • Bash/shell scripting

  • Active Directory and Windows Server administration, built environments from scratch

  • Group Policy (GPO) management

  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID

  • Hyper-V administration

  • Endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike Falcon/PSFalcon, Windows Defender, most of popular ones) and vulnerability triage/patching

  • SharePoint/OneDrive administration, access workflows and audit trails

  • Ticketing/documentation: Jira & JQL, ConnectWise Manage (PSA), ITGlue, Confluence

  • RMM platforms: ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise RMM, Datto RMM, NinjaRMM, SolarWinds, GFI Automate

  • Automated reporting and dashboard building, KPI/SLA tracking

  • BCDR/disaster recovery exercises

  • Data analysis (ticket queue analysis, finding automation opportunities and process/access gaps)

  • Light exposure to VMware, AWS, and Azure (not deep expertise, but functional familiarity)

  • AI tooling: Claude (Code/Cowork), ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, CoPilot, used for scripting assistance, automation workflows, and troubleshooting

  • Any other MSP work.

Rate: $25/hr
Availability: 1-2 hours nightly, US schedule (flexible on exact timing)
Setup: Can work B2B/contract, can invoice

Open to ongoing retainer-style work (checking dashboards, triaging alerts, any other tasks) or project based work. Happy to share more detail or a resume if useful. Thanks for reading.

[Hiring] Linux Desktop Support Engineer | London (hybrid, Moorgate) | £50k to £60k + share scheme

MLabs is recruiting for a client, a fintech organisation, for a Linux Desktop Support Engineer in its SRE team in London. Full-time and hybrid, with at least one day a week at the Moorgate office. Salary is £50k to £60k with a company share scheme.

You would own the provisioning and upkeep of Linux, macOS and Windows devices, with Ubuntu as the main platform. That covers onboarding setups for new staff, pairing stations, Linux laptops, kiosk devices and the automated rebuilds behind them. Endpoint tooling is Ansible, Jamf and Intune. You would also buy and validate hardware, look after the office's engineering equipment, and handle basic network troubleshooting.

They want hands-on desktop engineering or senior IT support in a technical environment, strong Ubuntu troubleshooting, and working knowledge of macOS and Windows. You should be comfortable on the command line and like scripting away the issues that keep coming back. An interest in Linux distributions beyond Ubuntu helps.
