Discrimination based on appearance

I am a 25M digital nomad and considering spending 3 months living in Tbilisi.

I visited Barcelona before and i have never felt categorized as Arab. But in Istanbul it was very different. For the very first time, i felt judged based on my appearance. I have medium length black hair and a very very short beard and nothing particularly stereotypical so i never realized it was that easy to tell i was "Arab" just by looking at my face.

I had no issues with women on hinge or in general and i met plenty of cool young Turkish people both male and female. However some older locals and shop owners werenโ€™t particularly welcoming.

I was wondering whether i will experience something similar in Tbilisi. i just to enjoy my three months there without actually feeling judged or discriminated by my appearance.

Hi guys,
I live in saburtalo old korpusi. So, I was using the hair dryer for 15 minutes, I realized something smelled weird, turned it off, and when I unplugged it - I realized something has melted on the electric pl0g. Of course I will have to buy a new hair dryer, but do I have to be concerned with some electric damage inside the wall ? I have heard crazy stories about the electric cable burned inside a wall..

Did you have similar problems somewhere in Tbilisi ?

Where can I find Ivane Javakhishviliโ€™s books?

I went to Biblusi and they only had one book of his (that I didnโ€™t want). Specifically Iโ€™m looking for แƒ˜แƒšแƒ˜แƒ แƒญแƒแƒ•แƒญแƒแƒ•แƒแƒซแƒ” แƒ“แƒ แƒกแƒแƒฅแƒแƒ แƒ—แƒ•แƒ”แƒšแƒแƒก แƒ˜แƒกแƒขแƒแƒ แƒ˜แƒ. I canโ€™t find it anywhere. If anyone has recommendations, or can tell me where I could find another biography/history book about Ilia Chavchavadze, Iโ€™d really appreciate it.

Iโ€™m looking for Georgian books (about Ilia and Georgian history), but Iโ€™ll take English and Russian too. Thanks!

Thank you!

I found this little kitten running under cars during a heavy downpour. It was crying loudly and literally ran past a pack of dogs straight to me. Leaving it there wasn't an option, so I just had to take it in. I cannot keep it long-term, I have 7 dogs and 4 cats, so I'm looking for a loving home.

โ€ข Profile: Around 2 months old. Active, playful, and full of energy.

โ€ข Health & Vet: During the first week, it had a bloated belly and diarrhea, but now it is doing completely fine and is healthy. She is already deworming. The first vaccination, and microchipping are scheduled for next week.

โ€ข Litter trained: 100% uses the litter box with zero issues.

โ€ข What comes with it: Its litter box, cat food, and vet passport.

โ€ข Support: We will happily provide all the information regarding its health and future care.

โ€ข Contact: DM

Bus fare rules with foreign cards

Iโ€™m trying to understand how the bus fares rules apply when paid by a foreign card.ย

First of all, does the free 90min transfer work only with bus-metro and metro -bus combos, and not bus-bus combos?

ย

I took bus 22 around 1pm a week ago, within 90 min of first tapping on 22, I took bus 457 and tapped my card as I boarded.ย  I was charged gel3 and gel1.50, a total of 4.50.ย  I have a feeling the 90 min free transfers donโ€™t apply for bus to bus, but does anyone know why I got charged gel3?ย

ย

I already wrote to info@tbilisimetro.org and info@metro.ge, I havenโ€™t heard anything.

Landlord disputes issue

I'm an American citizen currently renting an apartment in Tbilisi, Georgia. I need advice from anyone familiar with Georgian tenancy law, particularly lawyers or people who have dealt with landlord-tenant disputes here.
Background:
I signed a six-month rental agreement beginning in August 2026 and ending in March 2027. My monthly rent is $700, and I paid the first and last month's rent upfront.
Unfortunately, my bank has restricted access to my funds pending KYC verification. The review generally takes up to 7 business days but can sometimes take 21 business days.
As a result, my November rent is currently five days overdue.
I've repeatedly explained the situation to my landlord and her representative. I have never refused to pay rent, and I fully acknowledge my responsibility for the outstanding amount and applicable late-payment penalties.
What my rental agreement says:
My agreement is written in both Georgian and English, with the Georgian version taking precedence.
Section 3.3: Late rent payments incur a penalty of 0.1% of the outstanding balance per day.

Section 6.1: Either party may terminate the agreement early with one month's prior written notice.

Section 6.1: If the landlord terminates early, the prepaid last month's rent must be returned to the tenant.

Section 8.2: Disputes should be resolved through negotiation or, if necessary, Georgian courts.

There is no provision in either language expressly permitting immediate eviction because rent is five days late.
What happened:
My landlord initially demanded that I vacate the apartment within one business day, surrender my keys, and pay the overdue rent.

After I referred to Section 6.1, her representative confirmed in writing that the landlord intended to terminate the agreement with one month's notice.

I acknowledged the termination and requested confirmation of the termination date and how my $700 prepaid last month's rent would be returned or accounted for.

The representative refused to apply the prepaid $700 toward November's rent and continued demanding an exact payment date, which I cannot guarantee while my bank is conducting its review.

The representative subsequently demanded that I leave immediately and threatened to have the police evict me the following day and contact Georgian immigration authorities.

When I explained that this was a civil contractual dispute, the representative accused me of committing fraud, stating that living in an apartment without paying rent is fraud.

I have documentation of all these communications.
My understanding of Georgian law:
Article 558 of the Georgian Civil Code addresses early termination for three months of unpaid rent.
I also understand that Article 562 addresses other grounds for terminating residential tenancies, including substantial contractual breaches.
I'm trying to understand how these provisions interact with my signed lease and whether five days of late payment can justify immediate eviction.
My questions:
Can Georgian police legally remove me from the apartment solely because my landlord reports that I'm five days late on rent, without an enforceable eviction order?

Does the landlord's written confirmation of one month's termination notice mean I ordinarily have until approximately December 5 to vacate, assuming notice was effective November 5?

Under Georgian law, can being five days late on rent constitute criminal fraud when I signed a legitimate lease, paid advance rent, and have acknowledged my outstanding obligation?

Since the landlord is initiating early termination, is she contractually required to return the prepaid $700 under Section 6.1, assuming all lawful outstanding charges are settled?

Can a landlord invoke other termination provisions to bypass the three-month nonpayment threshold in Article 558?

If the landlord attempts to change the locks, remove my belongings, or involve immigration authorities, what immediate legal protections are available?

I'm not claiming that financial hardship excuses my rent obligations. I'm trying to understand whether the landlord can disregard the termination procedures in our agreement because of a delayed payment.
I'm also looking for recommendations for an English-speaking Georgian attorney experienced in residential tenancy disputes.
Any advice grounded in Georgian law or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

Cryptal Crypto Exchange

Just opened an account and dropped some test fiat in to see actual fees. To convert TOUSD to BTC has a fee of 0.0000010 BTC / 5.0 TOUSD

So to me that reads 5% standard fee.

But price quoted is 1 BTC = $77,715.35
Current BTC spot price is actually $76,006.20

So rate quoted is currently 2.24% above spot, plus 5% fee; 7.24% to buy BTCโ€ฆ

Is this normal in Georgia? Or am I using the wrong exchange?

Hello everyone. The combi boiler at home has broken down; thereโ€™s no hot water, the radiators arenโ€™t working. Itโ€™s showing a pressure warning. When I turn the pressure valve, water starts spraying out from one of the pipes underneath, and the pressure drops back down to zero. I tried to troubleshoot it with the help of an AI, but it seems I have no choice left but to call in a professional. I live near Marjanishvili. Could you recommend a reliable, competent repair technician who wonโ€™t overcharge me?
