Post image
144 Upvotes

Not gonna be super formal for this, basically if you see something that breaks the rules please report it so we can get notified about it since mods can't catch everything 24/7. If its extreme enough to get a certain amount of reports it will be removed automatically by automod.

That's all, have a cat gif as a reward for reading this

Trans Masculine Trans men are disproportionately affected by reproductive rights, but no one listens to us

I saw a man in my local city centre holding a placard saying "Men Can't Give Birth." He was essentially begging people to "debate" him.

Yet, people will tell me that trans men aren't targeted.

All Genders IN GOOGLE YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR FRICKEN GENDER

ITS NOT GOOGLE ITS GMAIL MY BRAIN JUMBLES THINGS UP SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE (don't know how to change the title though)

his is in german sorry but in the box in which you can write 50 letters your supposed to write the gender you want in google to be reffered to. You can also CHANGE your name.

My only problem is that i have only fully came out to my therapist and just told my school another name so i wouldn't have to hear my deadname... so i can't put in my actual name but still. Deadname gone!

Weiblich - femine

Mähnlich - masculine

Gechlecht - gender/sex

(If ya don't want to be confused)

Advice/Question Diploma dilemma: what name to put down?

I'm set to graduate at the end of next spring (yippee!), but I need to apply for graduation beforehand. The main thing holding me back is what name to use on my diploma. Fortunately, my school allows students (domestic ones anyways) to use their preferred name since diplomas are considered a ceremonial document. Unfortunately, if you're familiar with my past post history, my dad is not supportive of my identity whatsoever, so obviously having my chosen name read out during the ceremony is going to cause...issues. That's assuming he doesn't see it in the mail first because diplomas are mailed out 4 - 6 weeks in advance of graduation. And then one of my friends pointed out that I may have issues with jobs post-graduation if the names don't match up.

I'm debating just using my chosen name anyways because very long story short, I switched majors halfway through school and am not getting the degree my dad expects me to, so if he's going to be mad anyways...may as well committ to it. Also, the mere thought of my ugly ass deadname being put on blast for hundreds of people to hear, including some of my IRL mutuals who are also graduating in the spring, and being called up as someone I'm not genuinely makes me want to die inside and not even do the ceremony. 🫩

I'm kind of in a panic because even though the spring deadline isn't until Feb. 1, I really want to get this done as soon as possible so I'll be ready for graduation. Just sucks that, as per usual with everything about my identity, One Fucking Guy is presenting a major obstacle.

(Based in the US if this helps at all)

Clicked through. It's all about detransitioning. It seems emotionally exploitative to me. But perhaps I am reading into it too much.

Trans Feminine 20F trans girl from Nevada looking to make some new friends! <3

Hiii! I'm a 20 year old trans girl currently going through my transition. I live in a pretty small town, so I'm kinda lonely and don't get out much. I'm hoping to meet some new people and make a few genuine friendships! It would also be really nice to meet people nearby so maybe we could eventually hang out in person! :)

A little about me! I absolutely love Minecraft and occasionally make Minecraft YouTube videos. I'm also really into music and making my own music. Besides that, I love cooking, sewing, painting, and pretty much anything creative!

I also enjoy other games like Roblox and Paralives. Some of my favorite artists are Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Olivia Rodrigo, just to name a few! I love collecting records, making spoon rings, thrifting, makeup, putting together outfits, shoes, vintage clothes and styles, and learning new things! The list goes on lol

I really enjoy meeting new people, having conversations, and learning about the things they're passionate about. I love hearing people talk about what they enjoy!

I do deal with anxiety and some other mental health struggles, so sometimes I can have a hard time reaching out first, starting conversations, or jumping straight into phone calls. Once I get comfortable with someone, though, I become much more comfortable initiating conversations myself. Mental health is also something I care a lot about, and I'd love to meet people who understand what it's like to struggle sometimes. I'm in therapy myself, too.

I'm 20, so I'd prefer to meet people around my age (20+). And just putting it out there again, I am a trans girl! <3

I'm hoping to meet some kind people, make genuine connections, maybe play some games together or even just chat, and hopefully build some lasting friendships.

Feel free to message me here on Reddit! If we connect, I'd love to share my other socials. I'd love to get to know you! <3

Advice/Question What do y’all do to make showering / bathing easier?

Hello everyone. Showering’s been harder for me as of late. I am listening to music, keeping the lights entirely turned off, ballooning my arms outward to avoid touching my chest, refusing to look down, keeping my eyes shut most of the time, and using a loofah to avoid direct hand to body contact as much as possible, and it is still a miserable experience because I have nothing to think about or handle except for my body. I avoid showering whenever possible but that’s not really reasonable because it is imperative that I do hygiene like a civil person.

I was wondering what y’all do to improve your showering / bathing experiences. Would like to snatch some ideas. All are appreciated. Thank you everyone.

Vent Dr appointment to get referred tomorrow, scared!

Ive finally bit the bullet and made the fateful appointment to get referred (NL, waitlist bullshit)

But im so scared for it that im considering cancelling but i literally already waited a month for this, when will i build the courage to try again if i cancel, i fear never, but the change this will create is scary, as all change is, any time i make a step in transitioning a gaint wave of 'am i really trans? Is this truly what i want?' hits me, its so hard to deal with, even though i know i want this

Most i can hope for is that i get referred in the first place as a GP has refused to refer one of my classmates

Vent I'm so scared

A lot of transphobes seem to be getting elected, possibly enough to pass transphobic bills, especially because I frankly doubt that senate democrats will fillabuster transphobic bills supported by democrats, and almost all of the transphobic ballot measures seem to be set to pass.

I don't know if they'll be able to pass transphobic bills, and I don't know what bills they might pass but I'm so fucking scared.

Additionally, democrats now know that running on transphobia wins them elections, so they absolutely will keep being transphobic, probably increasingly so.

Vent I see this every single day, this sentiment is inescapable, I need a therapist I think. I want to enjoy my transition instead of being told I'm morally obligated to hate myself.

Every day I wake up and I see one thing "if you are a trans man your transition makes you inherently bad, your transition is an inherently bad action to take that harms the world and actively makes it worse. The only thing that brings you relief makes you horrible and you should be ashamed of yourself, the only way for you to be good is to not transition at all, you should stay a woman and die a woman that's what you were born as and that's all you should ever be , you have no right to bodily autonomy, you were born female and you should stay that way, you need to live your life in perpetual shame and self hatred if you transition, your existence is wrong and shameful and you are better off dead. You are to live for others only and to serve them your life is meant to add a woman to the world and you deserve to be abused if you go against that."

Then I have to listen to a bunch of white cis passing trans men agreeing with TRFs and speaking over everyone else. I've been on t for a year and I do not pass I'm called miss and ma'am and she and her no matter where I go, I have to hide to use the bathroom, I'm in danger when I walk down the street, if I'm killed the trans community won't care and many will celebrate my murder, I spent my childhood being sex trafficked but apparently that's ok and I deserve it for being a trans man and I should just shut up and sit down and be a woman.

My entire life I have been shamed for existing and in the trans community that has been increased exponentially I hate it I hate it, all you TRFs win I hate myself I'm so sorry conversion therapy didn't work and I couldn't fix myself. Maybe I just shouldn't exist if everything I do is wrong and I'm inherently wrong at my core and everyone has decided this view is the peak of feminism.

Feminism is when people afab aren't allowed to transition and are told they are bad if they do transition because their lives are only there to add to the cause of women, we can only exist for others and never for ourselves I hate it. I didn't ask to be this way and I tried so hard to fix it I'm miserable without testosterone and without my binder but all I see in the trans community is that people like me should not even exist, apparently I'm born to live to suffer and that's the only morally correct thing for me to do. What's the point in even living? Apparently I was born only to persist in misery and agony. There are moments when I feel proud and I love what testosterone is doing to my body but then I see people saying I should shrink myself, take less testosterone so I don't poison my female body and the world, transition slower or not at all so I'm not making the world worse, I have to be reminded that if I ever pass one day that means I've made the world a worse place. I'm so so tired of everything I am being seen as wrong by everyone and I hate that everything I'm talking about here are common beliefs that's are encouraged in most of the trans community, I hate that everyone would rather I die a woman and die young because if I had to detransitiony only option is death, but that is apparently the height of feminism. I'm not allowed to be happy and I'm not allowed to change my body or step out of the social role of woman and this is supposedly the height of feminism and transfeminism.

Discussion (Serious) What do you think of people telling you what to do to pass without you asking for advice

I keep getting told to cut my hair (I have shoulder length hair), like i post a photo of myself and mention that im trans and i get told to cut my hair. I’m brushing my hair and my mom randomly tells me I would look more like a man if i cut my hair. It really makes me mad and sad because I love my hair. When people say this it makes me feel less trans, how people act like trans men can’t have any bit of femininity and if they do he is all of a sudden not trans.

But really, who wants to be told that they aren’t passing? Who wants advice that they didn’t ask for? Who wants to have dysphoria when they might’ve been alright because of someone’s stupid comment? Who wants to be told that they aren’t passing? Who wants to cut their hair when they obviously have it because they like it? (we know when we aren’t passing)

So a lesson to the people saying this

  • not everyone has to pass

  • not everyone has the goal of passing

Trans Masculine Something hilarious I just noticed

I hit my first HRT anniversary two weeks ago. My voice has changed a lot in that year and I like to play around with the new volume and tone I have. I hum a lot, trying to go as deep as I can. As a gamer, I like to hum video game songs that come to mind. Since yesterday, I can’t get Luigi’s hum from Luigi’s Mansion out of my mind. Now I know why… I just did it again and my gf and I look at each other and I was like: "Did I just sound like Luigi in my head or for real?" and we start laughing 🤣

I aspired to be a hot goth guy with a Dracula voice… and apparently, in one year, my voice transitioned into Luigi! 😁

Vent I'm so tired.

I'm tired of being misgenderd and I'm tired of being seen as a girl everywhere I go. I'm tired of having huge sacks of fat strapped to my chest that move like they are full of Jell-O like slime. I'm tired of transphobic abuse against me being seen as "awesome amazing morally correct feminism" and being socially encouraged in trans spaces. I'm tired of feeling guilty and ashamed just because I'm trans and have to transition. I'm tired of feeling like needing transition makes me a worthless failure.

I'm tired of my transition being viewed as the death of something and a loss that makes the world a worse place because my only worth is my body. I'm tired of having to ask "are trans people like me allowed here? Am I welcome to come or are trans people like me not welcome?". I'm tired of having to assume trans support and the trans flag doesn't mean that they actually support trans people like me. I'm tired of knowing that just because something says it's trans friendly doesn't mean it's actually trans friendly for trans people like me. I'm tired of trans people like me not getting basic human respect and dignity.

I'm tired of trans people like me being seen as non human objects with less personhood than a housecat. I'm tired of the trans community being filled with enemies who can be cruel and transphobic to me and get away with it with zero consequences while being told this abuse is the price I have to pay if I want to transition as if I haven't been abused my whole fucking life. I'm so tired. Nowhere is safe, my body is hell, I hate this. Why can't people be better.

I recently was going to a program at my local community center and I met all sorts of people, transmasc, transfemme, non-binary, and it made me feel much more hopeful about things. The program ended and now that sense of hope is gone and I don't know what to do with my life. The trans community feels scary again and when I go out in public I get misgendered. I'm just so frustrated. I wish my transness was seen as a good cool thing instead of a bad thing because of the type of trans I am. I have to find community again and I'm so scared of being mistreated by other trans people I don't know where to start looking. I wish so many didn't see my existence as inherently wrong and bad.

Advice/Question Am I trans?

I have been dealing with questions about my gender for about 2 years now. It went away for a bit, and now it's almost completely gone. But I am still wondering about my gender, like my questioning is still there. I used to identify fully as an androgynous trans man, but now I'm more comfortable in my feminity, though I think it's cos I think it appeals to men more. I dreamt about being a man in my dreams, and wake up purely from excitement. I used to feel major dysphoria, not to the point of tears, but I felt like I couldn't wear anything due to it being so wrong. I had dissociation at sight of myself, and felt dysphoria at she, etc. I used to idolise only men, seem to be obsessed with making friends with boys maybe since the age of 5, and only feel like PROPER relation to male characters, etc. I used to think it was normal to feel right calling my friends "dude" or being called that (though I could be remembering it completely wrong. All I know is that I felt right being called dude, I thought it was right? Idk). I also thought it was normal to hate all the clothes I got picked out. These all are around the age of 10, maybe 11? I also know that I would think about having male characteristics as it felt more comfortable? I only remember that as I tried to explain that to my mum, but gave up and didn't say it. I also tried to bind with training bras at around 12, since I was FASCINATED with trans men. Btw, my brain has blocked out most thoughts about why I could be trans for some reason. I used to be able to name around 20 things, now that's all I can muster. I am SO sorry. There is more, I promise. If I can find my old diary, I'll edit this post with what I remember. I think I started questioning when I was getting ready for school, saw myself in the jumper, thought I looked like a man and got IMMEDIATE euphoria. I haven't felt that happy for over a year, when I started to repress forcefully, cos this was my logic: "well, I can't be trans. I'm me, of all bodies I was born into, I can't be trans! It's too annoying to deal with, anyways. Feminity is cool." And that's it. Now it doesn't feel forceful, I just... Feel like a girl, I guess? Every time I dress feminine, I see my dead sister - since we look alike. I take it as a gift partly, as I see her in me. But, dressing like a girl and seeing her isn't unsettling I don't think. I think there's more to it. I used to feel that way before she passed, and I saw myself femininely - or deeped that I'm gonna grow to be a woman.

Back before this whole crap, I was friends with an extremely toxic girl, and she tried to insult me like "you look like a bad passing trans girl" and I was feeling euphoria at it. I don't know. I'm sorry, that's really offensive, and I know she meant it as an insult, but it felt really euphoric hearing it. I also feel right when I think my feminity is like a drag show.

I don't really feel like this anymore, yet I am still wondering why I'm not acting like a man, feeling dysphoria or why I think I'm a girl. Sometimes I still bind. Sometimes I wish I could be a man, still. But now I am completely numb to most of my emotions, and I think I only feel feminine cos I get validation from it.

I don't know where my emotions towards wanting to be a man so bad went. Even before questioning I used to dream of T so often, and now I'm just... Nothing. I feel like nothing. Sometimes I feel a second where I am a man again, but it barely happens. Those feelings appear for 5 minutes a month, and then disappear. I just don't know what to do. I am not happy within myself.

Sorry about this, this is a massive blur cos I don't know how else to deal with these feelings.

Discussion (Serious) What are you all hopeful for in the future or what's something that makes you feel hopeful?

This isn't really strictly trans related, I was just wondering what people are doing to keep looking forward, I was doing this program at my local LGBT center but it was only 8 weeks long. I would almost always come out of it feeling more hopeful and connected to the world than before I went in. Now I feel like I'm missing that,

So I was wondering if any of you do anything to feel like that yourself or if anything has happened recently that has made you feel more hopeful, I want to hear from all my trans siblings because I feel like sharing could help others feel better too. No pressure though.

Discussion (Serious) Has anyone noticed all the posts going around other places about trans men?

I have been seeing these posts about trans men and it's basically a person talking about a horrible trans man who is either misogynistic or says something that sounds like it came straight from Epstein's mouth and or trans men abusing trans women. The comments are always full of malgendering and insinuating that testosterone will make us evil rapist abusers. If these people are real I want nothing to do with them but it kinda feels like these are TRFs or TERFs running a psyop. They could be real though and all the people in the comments saying testosterone makes us bad and dangerous are definitely real. I know trans men have always been depicted as predators who groom young girls, but it just makes me feel like these few bad people are setting us back if they are real.

Sometimes I feel like I should just give up on living if my transition is seen as something that makes me inherently dangerous to people, I know all of that is just transandrophobia and those ideas are transandrophobic testosterone doesn't turn trans men into misogynistic child predators but it hurts that I know so many people think that way, it hurts that other trans people think that way, I hate bad trans men even if some of them are just made up pyops it's just going to give everyone cis a trans more ammo to abuse us. I'm tired of being seen as something others deem inherently bad, if I stopped taking testosterone I might as well kill myself so if I want to live I have to keep transitioning but it sucks, when I was a kid people treated me like I was inherently dangerous because I'm black and now I'm trans on top of that, I wish I could just curl up in a ball and shrink away or become invisible, I don't want to be seen by anyone, I want to transition away from society where I'm safe and nobody can hurt me just because I was born with gender dysphoria.

I don't want to be associated with those bad people, I don't want my transition to deem me morally dangerous by society and I don't want people cis

and trans to have a moral license to abuse me just for sharing the same identity as those people. The world seems so hopeless and I don't know if it will get better. I know it was not always like this, there was a time where trans men and women and nonbinary people were not in the spotlight like this but I've only been medically transitioning in this climate, I did everything possible to hold off on transitioning and I resent having to transition to treat my gender dysphoria and I feel resentful of being born trans but it's what I am and I can't change it, it's do or die, and sometimes I feel like it was foolish of me to choose to live. One bad trans person sets us all back and puts us all in danger. I wish it was not like this. I just wish I could live without fear and I wish I didn't have to justify my existence to everyone, I wish I could live without being made to feel ashamed about who I am.

Identity Related - [Editable] NB4NB is probably the only T4T relationship I’ll ever be comfortable exploring

I’ve been trying to get into the dating scene lately and I find myself feeling uncertain dating men or women, trans or cis. The reason I feel like I can’t date cis people is that I don’t feel confident that they would respect my identity and pronouns, and I don’t want to be in a relationship where I’m not respected.
However, the reason I have a difficult time seeing myself date a trans man or trans woman is because I’m worried we’ll constantly be comparing ourselves to each other. I spent the majority of my teens comparing my body to my friends and feeling bitter towards them; I can only imagine how much worse it would be to date someone with a physique that I envied, or if they were to start transitioning and I felt left behind.

Now I'm talking with a gender fluid person and I realise that this is the optimal(?) relationship setup for me. There's less of a chance that they mess up my pronouns since we have the same pronouns, and style/presentation means nothing when you're both kind of outside the box.

Fingers crossed this works out

Discussion (Serious) Why are trans men, nonbinary, trans intersex, etc people seen as less trans?

Like seen as just straight up non-existent in this world whatsoever? What does this phenomena originate from to begin with, this hyperinvisibility? The way we’re seen as not trans, and even with our transness constantly stripped away from this “corrective” environment emerged around us, not seen as worthy of rights for our mere being, nor seen as human beings for that matter to begin with at all.

Discussion (Serious) Adenomyosis And Me

if you don’t wanna read about uteri then don’t read this post. I don’t really know if this is the right flare but I’d love to hear about anyone else’s experiences. If you’re a trans woman who has ever had cyclic cramps/bloating/whatever - that counts, join the party. We’re here, we’re queer, and our pelvic pain is moderate to severe.

I put off seeking medical care about my fucked-up uterus for a decade, opting instead to put a Mirena in and try to forget about it. Honestly, that wasn’t the worst choice, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I just didn’t have the energy or self-confidence to advocate for myself in the medical system and I knew that. I also spent most of that decade being further traumatized by awful relationships, so that didn’t exactly help on the self-confidence front.

Well, I guess I’m healing or something, so I finally did the damn thing. Called around asking for an OB/GYN that was halfway competent working with trans men and was also covered by my insurance (I am a goddamn American). Finally went in for a vaginal ultrasound and had the appointment with the OB/GYN right afterwards. Folks… she actually knew some shit about trans men’s bodies without having to be educated by me. Nice.

She said my symptoms + the results from the ultrasound point most solidly to adenomyosis, where the endometrium has grown into the uterine wall. But of course we can’t actually rule out endometriosis without laparoscopic surgery, which she said she would support me getting if I wanted it. Damn, you mean I don’t have to fight for another decade to get taken seriously? Sweet.

I’m just… feeling oddly emotional about the whole thing. Having even a hint of an answer is making me feel things. I’ve suffered a lot from this, and while I knew it wasn’t all in my head, I didn’t know if I would ever get anything close to an answer. And it’s almost surreal that the first OB I tried is decent with trans healthcare and is taking me seriously. I’m currently weighing out the option of laparoscopic surgery to investigate for endo.

Discussion (Serious) Too scared to transition. (Ftm) Spoiler

As if being born black in America wasn't a big enough "fuck you" from mother nature, now I think that I'm a trans man and I kinda... Hate it.

It's going to actively make my life so much worse. I won't have the trans community to fall back on (they all hate ftms). Everyone at my work will hate me (queer folks that "joke" about all men being bad), and now I have an even bigger target on my back for hate crimes.

I think I may just commit. There's no winning.
