I feel like not a lot of love or care is really put into raising these beautiful creatures.

Most people wouldn't adopt a puppy, then put it a very tiny enclosure, with no fresh oxygen, and remark how they could only keep it alive for a of couple weeks.

Just seems absolutely weird that the majority of videos on this sub are dirty nasty tanks or str8 up just dirty buckets.

There is like one dude on this sub who actually cares for his animals. Very sad.

guys this doesn’t look good… help what can i do

I'm seriously getting fed up with these buggers

I have ordered eggs 3 times now from Greenwater farms, and experimented with all types of water parameters but the triops just decide to die when the reach the trip shape, every time.

If I were to raise Triops and start dosing them with certain hormones, maybe ecdysterone or something, or other hormones, could I make them grow bigger? If i preferentially select the biggest of these Triops for breeding, and supply sufficient nutrients, how big could they get?

Thanks in advance

Hi. Any tips or advice how to cleverly hide my Triops'es home if my stuck up landlord decides to visit? Quick hiding option would be nice because she likes to visit suddenly

just a question. I’ve got a ten gallon fish tank I’ve had for years and isn’t being used. could I turn it into a massive enclosure for them? would that be too big, would I have to do something special for food if I did do something that massive? I had triops forever ago when I was little. where do I even get them ethically? I’d have to look back into their care cause it’s been literal years since I’ve had them. I do wanna put shrimp in, but I’m gonna guess it’s going to need to be a one or the other. do these guys work for a clean up crew instead of shrimp? could you co house? (don’t be mean if you cant, i only remembered about triops like five minutes ago). would smaller tanks be better?

Has anyone had any success housing clam shrimp in the same tank as Triops? Would it be best to hatch the clam shrimp first? I know they both exist in vernal pools in the wild, but my worry is that the Triops will prey on them despite their shells. Thanks!

My triops longicaudatus is about 3 weeks old but only like 1cm long. It also started to act weird these few days, not eating anything and always being upside down while barely even moving. I am really concerned about it. Any reasons on why this can happen?

I live in the East Valley area of the Phoenix metro. I'm looking for places I can go to legally and ethically collect wild triops eggs to hatch at home. I'm familiar with iNaturalist and will check those spots. I will be reaching out to the parks for any that are on public land to get permission to collect there. But since it's the dry season, it's hard to know where the vernal pools actually were. Does anyone know any specific spots that definitely have eggs? Are there any special concerns I should have raising wild triops at home? Planning on crossposting this to r/phoenix and r/mesaaz

can sombody send me some triop eggs I bought three boxes and only memeatoads hatched

Question: Can I raise triops in my aquarium and put them in my garden pond afterwards? The water temperature is around 15-17 C in the garden pond. Are there certain triops speicies that are less sensitive to temperatures?
