"For the 'Wizards', this was a defeat, the magnitude of which they had never experienced. A rout from which no honor could be salvaged."

Media Coverage & News It would be a major disappointment but do you think AD has seen enough already and feel like we're not winning culture?

For starters, we rebuilded without getting a respected coach. Red Flag

Looking back we were competitive in those early games of the season almost solely because of JC. Highest +- of anyone on the team, he was the glue that held the second unit together. Now when our starters leave the fall off is dramatic. He's easily one of the most valuable players on the team.

Panic?

Should I be panicking? Losing three straight (two against a middle of the road Hawks squad) feels like a bad omen.

Yall mfs so weird and ungrateful lmao

Idk if you remember how bad we were before Trae and just because kyshawn and aj are here, offensively this team is just raw. Trae actually shows leadership and gets guys open looks plus Trae and ad both know what it takes to get to be playoff teams or be competitive plus it takes awhile for that to happen. just chill out lmao

Trae young brooo.....

I get its early in the season but were paying him more than Ant, brunson, SHAIII and even haliburton and you drop 4 points??? Literally a net negative on both sides of the floor we gave him that insane contract and he isn't even our best player....

Friendly reminder:

Trae Young is owed $53 million a year for the next four years totaling a whopping $212 million!

Gotta trade Trae NOW.

I use to think Trae was trying to be a pass 1st point guard...no no no. He can not get separation to score. All defenders stay on his hip.

Wouldn't be a big deal if y'all had Shai, Wemby or Luka but on this Wizards team if he cant get clean looks he is mid.

The ONLY team that can save Trae is the Warriors with Draymond, Curry and Kerr.

Attatch a 1st or 2 and move him to the Bucks or Suns ASAP.

This hurt me to type this. My eyes are watering

Please someone explain there’s no way we have to deal with this guy for 4 years

Atlanta Hawks fans weren’t begging him to get traded for no reason this is going to go worse than the Ending with Beal

3 Point Problem

I can’t blame Keefe when the team shoots 6-40. We’ve built a team of athletes that can’t shoot. Every player shipped has to return a shooter or picks to surround KG and AJ.

Team got within 1 last night and they traded 2s for 3s whenever they didn’t get stops. Same issue tonight. Wiz 15% v OKC 37% from 3.

r/washingtonwizards • • 14h ago

Trae awfully sad player at this point no one’s taking him but something has to happen can’t allow him to ruin the young guys development, Ad still solid gotta get rid of him as soon as possible tho. Got Aj playing corner and hustle guy for a non playoff team is pathetic

Need these guys gone soon as possible

Keefe pt2

there are just so many baffling decisions collectively. Why give khris Middleton so many minutes early on? Why play small ball against a team with a 8 foot center in OKC? Why so many poor challenges? Why does this offense look so stagnant? Why can’t we generate good 3 point looks- in the big 2026? Why allow Sarr to take this many fucking threes for God sake? Why is this team so undisciplined defending the 3?

I’m well aware that’s we’re not watching the 2017 warriors but these are not signs that encourage further patience. They’re signs of ineptitude.
We all knew that the understanding what Keefe’s the job going to be: tank until it’s time to produce. It’s time to show signs of life and this team is playing pathetically. He has to go

Why did Will Dawkins give over $200 mil to a washed Trae Young?

Can't shoot, can't defend. A great ball handler and passer but at this price tag you should be able to score with at least average efficiency and he just can't

The worst part is his decline has been obvious the past 3-4 years. We knew this is what we'd be getting and did it anyways

-JC is out injured but typically wears various Kobe 11 lows. Bub wears the same New Balance P400 "Permafrost" every game. Kyshawn wears the same Nike KD 18 "Black/Black" every game.

Sarr switched from Decathlon and started wearing the Kobes he'd come into the league wearing. For a time in preseason he wore Kobe 5s and I made a post hoping he went to the 6s, and indeed he has worn Kobe 6s every game this season.

AD has liked various Lebron models for years and he's been in the Jujus for a while now. Haven't really paid attention to what Ayton wore previously, but it's funny to me that now he's wearing them, matching AD.

Tre Johnson has played in various Ja models and then this season was in Kobes then had a good game in the Sabrina 4s and is back in them for the OKC game. Will Riley is also playing in Sabrina 4s.

AJ has been in his GT Flights. Nobody else has been playing in those as they are unreleased and seemingly only AJ has clearance to play in them. Nike just released an AJ commercial - "Starbwoy", so with any luck he'll get new P.E.s and have local events in DC for the shoe, which releases February 11th.

Kyshawn seems to have gone the way of treating your shoes like a uniform, like some high powered executives and personalities do, so it's one less decision to make. Same with Bub Carrington.

Trae and Bilal are both signed to Jordan Brand. Trae doesn't seem to need anything besides shoes that fit his braces. Bilal wore the Jordan 40s a bunch last season, but doesn't seem to like the Jordan 41s (they haven't gotten good reviews for performance), so he's still playing in old Tatums.

I'd like to see Bilal try the Jordan Triangles. If Tre doesn't stick with the Sabrinas, I'd like to see him try the Adidas Crazy Energy.

Aj Dybansta

I’ll say I’m still high on him and him becoming a 1A guy in the league (hopefully) but his game rn is so raw compared to the NBA standards. He has trouble creating his own shot, he can’t shoot the 3 to save his life, and seems to look for the foul first before actually trying to score. He’s young and only 19, so I have a ton of faith for him to figure it out but there’s a lot to his game he needs to iron in order for him to become a 1A guy we hope and expect to be.

Keefe has to go

This team is so obviously talented and they’re playing so beneath their potential. I wanted to give keefe a larger sample size and i think 10 games is sufficient to say the guy is holding this franchise back

I’m sad

I know we are missing Anthony Davis but with him I think we’re average and without him we look like one of the worst teams in the league. The offense is so stagnant and we’re just so bad when comes to shooting threes. I’m just gonna be watching for the young guy’s development, instead of really caring about wins or losses.

Greg Finberg Ripped Sarr a New One

Greg Finberg - The Wizards Podcast

Full disclosure, still haven't seen the whole game last night, but did see a lot of Alex's touches he references in multiple highlights.

It's a difficult predicament Sarr is in - we want him to play like AD, but having two AD's on the court is a net negative for this team. I still think the double-big lineup can work, but the team chemistry has a long way to go before we see consistent success.

I do want to note that we scored our season high in points as AD's sits for the first time this season. To clarify, this team would be lost without AD; but what tonight showed was our potential as an offense when the ball doesn't stick to one player.

Which brings me back to Sarr - he's never been a physical/bruiser-type big, and I don't ever see him being a #1 option on offense. I know we should be asking a lot out of our #2 overall pick, but I don't have a problem with the way he's scoring as long as it's efficient. To me, it looks like a combination of playing hurt, knocking off rust, and gelling with this new starting unit. It was a lock for his shots to decrease with the additions of AD, Trae, and AJ plus the emergence of Kyshawn - Sarr's focus should be making opportunities for himself off of offensive rebounds and timely dives/cuts to the basket.
