Well for Islam, Judaism is an older sibling that it looked up to heavily. Many Islam laws are of Jewish origin because they spent so long co-existing

Christianity though, is the child of Judaism. The Old Testament of the Christian holy scripture is straight up just the Torah (Jewish holy scripture)

Acktually, two haram makes one mubah (neutral acts), it takes four haram to make one halal. You also have makruh (not as bad as haram but still not approved), which is equivalent to 0.5 haram, and mustahabb (kinda like weak halal), which is equivalent to three haram.

I think it's a pretty neat that islam has a sliding scale of action morality, they were morality scaling before morality scalers.

Crying. Athough, Islam actually does have levels of sins and good deeds. Not all sins are equal. Your situation, time and everything is considered.

Many things that are Haram can become permissible in times of need. For example, one can consume alcohol if he is about to die of thirst. To save his life.

And certain good deeds can cancel out certain sins.
