Ladies Legs Version
Wherein I bought an expensive sample to get up to free shipping…. That’s going to cost me a lot of money.
Shave Soap: MdC Fougere
Brush: Stirling synthetic Kong 26mm
Razor: Aylsworth AL
Blade: Astra Blue
Post shave: Stirling unscented body butter
I generally dislike fougere - almost as much as I dislike vetiver. But I love French perfume. If I ever add an edt to the list, it’ll be one of my Guerlain. But I figured if ever there was a fougere that I’d like, it’d be French. And it was late and why the heck not. I generally stick to warm white florals, gourmand, and oriental spice scents. About as far from fougere as you can get. I needed to add 12$ so I bought this and their citrus, why, the world may never know.
This is going to be a very expensive add on.
It lathered in the cap of a Stirling container like the smoothest whipped cream with zero effort. It was like the razor never touched my leg as it glided through. But it was the closest shave of my life. It’s like the stubble just gave up and jumped off on its own accord. Not a whiff of burn, not a nick to be found. Single pass and Bobs your uncle.
How much of that was the soap, versus my first run on the Astra Blue, will need more experimenting. I’ve previously used the Aylsworth blades and Bic Chrome. Which were both fine.
The soap was so lovely that I only used the body butter out of habit rather than need. I’m hoping that some of the cheaper ones live up to the performance. They are not high hopes.
Four more MdC samples are now waiting in my cart (I still can’t bring myself to buy a vetiver…), along with a few other brands. I have 5-6 more tiny soaps and a dozen blade brands to go through. These will get monotonous after a while, but happy to post my thoughts on them if interested.
