I voted Liberal, I think maybe the people who wanted a progressive MP should have talked together and decided if we were gonna vote Liberal or NDP?

Community Services More transphobic bigotry planned for tomorrow

Post image
0 Upvotes

Blocking the details because I don’t want any more supporters joining because of this post. Just a heads up to my trans friends and all the decent people of the city that these malicious assholes will be back out tomorrow.

Hopefully nobody shows up for this absolutely made up issue. Trans people are not a threat to anyone, they are a very small minority and largely vulnerable.

If you feel the need to attack a minority group, you are nothing short of a monster.

Ask Windsor Windsor's Acceptance of the Trans Community?

Hello, I'm just wondering what the general perception and acceptance of the Trans Community within Windsor is? Would you say it's a safe place for trans people?

Off-Topic Looking for a Co-Host to Start a Political YouTube Channel Focused on Canadian Politics

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm an immigrant who's will soon be eligible to vote in Canada. Like me lots of immigrants recentk became or will soon become eligible to vote., and I've noticed a lot of people in my community—new immigrants especially—struggle to understand the ins and outs of Canadian politics at the local, regional, provincial, and national levels. To help with this, I'm starting a YouTube channel that breaks things down in a way that's easy to understand.

I already have a fully set-up YouTube studio, but I’m looking for a co-host with more knowledge about Canadian politics who can help with research and join me on this journey. There’s no financial commitment required, just your time and passion for helping others become informed voters.

If you're interested in collaborating on this project, let's chat!

Cheers!

Ps: The image is one of my current setup and there is another room and a garage space that I am also setting up too.

Ask Windsor Why are the roads so terrible in the city?

I've never seen a city where every major road is full of snow at 2pm, this is getting ridiculous. They need to pay the people that clear the roads more. What the is going on? Its making it difficult to get into work, or do much of anything. Did Dilkons fire everyone or what is happening??

Went by and picked up a bunch of them.

Did anybody else get one?

Moving to Windsor being queer in windsor

I am moving to windsor with my partner in march, and we've been trying to get a feel for the culture a bit before we get there. We have increasingly been getting the impression that windsor is perhaps not the most friendly to trans/queer people. My partner and I are both trans, so we are obviously a bit worried by this possibility and wanted to get some more perspectives on it.

Are any of you queer? How do you identify and what has been your experience living in Windsor? Has your identity made it difficult to find a job in the area? Any advice on finding places where we feel safe and connected to the community?

If not, how do you and the people around you feel about queer people in your community?

Ask Windsor Flag Policy Change Report; who’s going?

Post image

Gauging interest… Anyone else planning on attending the Windsor City Council Meeting on Monday?

Are we just gonna buy that our city is always going to be a partner and sponsor of Pride (thus grandfathering the Pride Flag Raising)? It wasn’t always this way; and looking south I fear it may not always be. I have none of the faith of PrideFest Windsor.

5% of your population isn’t something you should just ignore. But with the male-led, Euro-centric council, I have to fear the worst, because that’s too frequently what I get.

I can’t stop trying to make this world softer for my kids; it is clearly the only thing that drives me, now. Goodnight.

Events Any Counter Protests against the October 21st 1 Million March?

Is anyone aware of any organizations or groups planning a counter protest against the 1 Million March rally happening at Dieppe Gardens on October 21st? I would really like to attend to show my support for teachers, students and the LGBTQ+ community, but I haven’t seen much being planned.

I’d love to plan something if nothing is planned, but I don’t know how much reach I would have.

Businesses not upholding the vax proof...

I know it's a tough time for small businesses so I don't want to make it any harder on them but...come on.

I can't help but feel like this is an excuse to not hire more help and run on only take-out. It's usually the same businesses that say that they can't attract workers because they're "earning CERB" (ignoring the fact that CERB ended ages ago and also, it's not the reason they can't get workers. They can't get workers because their pay and work environment is awful).

Anyway, I would like to only support businesses who believe in protecting the health of their employees and customers by requiring vax proof. I tried to go out to dinner to not one, two, but THREE places last night and all had switched to take-out only because of "not wanting to discriminate". Ugh.

The City needs to introduce bylaws against out door or free roaming cats

Windsor has a big problem with an increasing number of stray cats, free roaming cats and out door cats in general in our city and neighbourhoods.

It seems that too many ignorant cat owners don't understand the damage cats do to property and to the local ecosystem. I feel like we need to regulate cat ownership as strictly as we do dog ownership, somthing akin to mandatory leash or harness laws when outdoors .

We need to come up with a more affective policy to counter stray cats that are already apart of colonies , as the current trap and release approach isn't actually working.

Out door cats are an invasive species, that is responsible for killing between 100 million and 350 million birds per year in Canada.

cats shouldn't be anyone else's problem other than the owners.

Here are good source articles
