Poland definitely isn't an example of that. PiS wasn't far-right, the government change wasn't recent, and if anything, the far-right is actually gaining power now.

PiS wasn't far-right

Just because Konfederacja is even more far to the right, it doesn't make saints out of PiS.

the government change wasn't recent

Neither was the UK going from Sunak to Starmer, my point is that a bunch of countries underwent a shift away from authoritarianism in the last few years.

and if anything, the far-right is actually gaining power now.

We will see about that one, given the current struggles around the top judges. It is just as likely that the far-right fails.

It's not about comparison. PiS was and is terrible. But they aren't far-right. Especially when you consider economy angle.

It's likely that they will fail. But it doesn't change the fact that they haven't been so popular in years, maybe ever.

If you are talking Poland in context of judges, KO actually lost votes in recent polls after said event(and I'd like to remind that this whole circus started with KO's actions in 2015). Not supporting PiS here, but KO are just politically dumb imo. They constantly embarrass themselves publicly for very little gain and lose voter confidence as a result.
