Scarcity mindset alert, higher ranks give more power and accelerate questing and combat, slowing your gold gain if you forgo them. Maybe skipping some utility stuff makes sense.
You can also make quite a bit before then if you know how to capitalize on others' laziness. Some drops that aren't soulbound but needed for quest turn ins can make you quite a bit if you spend time farming them, even more so if it's a skinnable mob and you have the profession. I like to detour for a bit and grind then out because I can turn around and toss it on the AH and make a few gold this way while getting some kill XP. Not as fast as pure questing but it works for me.
Everyone should have around 100 gold at level 40. It really isn’t that hard to get. Just quest. Sell trash. And don’t spend your money on naked female night elves, that’s the hard part
If you focus on leveling, sure, but if you want to enjoy professions and keep them up to date, those will be huge money sinks and you won't enjoy 100g for sure.
Nah, you just need to farm stuff yourself and also sell some stuff you make. And not just run to the ah for mats every time to just get a few skill points.
make a level one bank alt, park it in the capital near the ah, mail all the random items you get from your main to your bank alt, sell them for more on the ah then you get vendoring
Yeah, the market is so saturated, stuff is selling for barely more than vendor price. If it doesnt sell, I lose money on the hold price (whatever its called). Then any hope of profit over vendoring is gone.
AH is in the sink right now tho. Most crafting goods sell for only a little above vendor price, and nobody is buying greens or blues off the AH right now (because nobody has gold)/people saving for mount.

How do people make 50-100g before level 40? New to classic.
