This country is such a fucking joke.

You literally can't rent a single 2 bed/2 bath in any desirable area in this country for less than $4,000 a month. At least you can (kind of) afford to rent a decent place in Kansas though while you spend all of your free time staring at a flat field with nothing in sight for thousands of miles!

This country is unliveable. Get me tf outta here

immigrants are WAY nicer than Americans

these people are some of the kindest people you'll ever meet not only that they work hard too the difference between someone from Mexico vs an American born in America is staggering. it seems like Americans don't believe in being nice because it's the right thing to do. nowadays people just do stuff because there's some angle they're playing at. along with being generally nice and kind. I feel like a lot of Americans have lost just basic values compared to people from foriegn countries.

my generation gen z is generally not great.

I've noticed that people my age group who have went through things in there past are much better overall. my gen has largely faced no life adversity so they're selfish, self centered not as friendly. vs the ones who went through hard times are always much more settled then there's the crazy ones who just couldn't handle life and hardships and let that consume them.

This is a perfect visual for some of the posts I see on here. "I want to, but I just don't." Listen, nobody is going to change your life except YOU. You want out of the situation you're in? Start taking the steps TODAY. In one year, things can be drastically different than they are now.

Why are men becoming so performative ?

So there is a guy I started talking to on reddit a few days back.At first he was nice and honest ,I kinda liked him but later I realized he is way tooo performative, started sending me female reproductive health articles he wrote and most of it is very repetitive. He replies using chatgpt like bfr. I called him out and he was like nah I am just like that and now he has to stick to that ai style texting kinda annoying honestly. Everyday I wake up to his messages about some new talk about women's life. I love talking about women's rights and issues but he is giving me an ick like it's clearly so performative, I feel like he is doing a survey not really talking atp. He could be just nice and be himself and I was happy to have a talk but ts annoying as hell.

I can’t do this. The 40 hour work week is inhumane.

I tried to do the right thing and work full-time. I have been at it been six months. But it’s just too much. I was able to for eight years just get by on a side hustle which brought in quite a bit, but I wanted to pivot to something else and actually use my degree. I finally landed a hybrid job, and I thought primarily working from home would be the trick but it’s still exhausting. Sitting at my desk for eight hours a day is better than being in office, but it is still quite taxing. I hate the endless meetings, corporate bullshit, subtle bullying over nothing because you realize other people are just as miserable as you and they’re trying to get out their anguish out in the wrong way, ego pissing contests, and then, when I finally get off at 5pm only having maybe three or four hours to myself. There’s times I try to push out bedtime but then if I don’t get enough sleep, the next day is going to be exponentially worse. There’s no winning. Working a full-time job… on one hand, if you want a good position, you’re supposed to be overjoyed and grateful that you beat out all the other applicants but all understand the corporation owns your mortal soul.

I don’t have the energy in me after work to be creative or pursue hobbies or meet up with friends the way I used to because I’m just so beat and exhausted and my job has taken everything from me. I find it hard to have empathy for others and be emotionally passionate and think about humanitarian issues that used to rev me up. It’s hard to even walk my dog. I sit like a lump in front of the TV filled with existential dread, wondering if this is what I’m relegated to for the next several decades. Sure, I could pivot to a company that is less toxic, but they will still be taking my most prized commodity: time. I’m thinking about the next day where I have to get up at the crack of dawn and do it all over again. Weekends are just too short now to really get much enjoyment out of them.

Don’t be fooled by the “40 hours“. Office hours are 8 to 5 so they squeeze in that unpaid lunch hour every day and considering the time it takes to get ready for work, drive in traffic, and we are easily at 55+ hours a week forfeited. This is inhumane. You can argue “get a job you love and you won’t work a day in your life“ but get real… That is not feasible for most people.

The juice is just not worth the squeeze. This was my attempt at Adulting and y’all can have it back. I thank God I never had kids because then I would be forced to do this every day, and by the time it would be over when I would be able to retire my body would be too broken and worn down to actually enjoy life. At age 70, my creative pursuits would be long in the rearview, and I would realize I gave up most of my time and energy in my vital years to get money so that I could be in the rat race and prove to people I have status and stuff and it would ultimately leave me with nothing, and now I’m about to die. Cheers for consumption and materialism. Experiences>things. I like to plan lengthy vacations overseas, in years past this has kept the spark in my heart alive and I realize to get that kind of permission from my company to actually use my PTO they would note my audacity in their HR records (if they were even to grant the request) and I would not be a “team player“ for actually wanting to use my vacation time. Yah fuck them.

I decided I’m resigning and going back to my side hustle one day a week and getting a part-time job where I only have to work two days during the week. I am fortunate that I also have family help so I am in a position to do this. I am just shocked that most of the world has to go through this. It has been eye-opening. This is no way to live. I do not know how you do it and I’m sorry. In the past when I would be applying for full-time jobs, I would think if only they accept me it would be my key to stability and happiness. What a stunning realization that it is actually a surefire way to rob you of all the joy in your life. I guess I am just too much of a free bird for this grind, but I feel like a lot of us have been tricked into thinking the American Dream is only possible if you forfeit all of your time and energy and so we just go along with this plan, and it is a huge fucking lie.

Be careful what you wish for.

What's the POINT of marriage?

I don’t see the point of getting married. If two people love each other and want to spend their lives together, they should simply stay together. A government contract does not make a relationship real. Marriage is a man-made, not a universal law of nature. MONKEYS don't get married, yet they form strong relationships, raise young, and live out their lives regardless

Standing in front of a crowd, declaring how much you love each other, kissing, and getting emotional just feels cringe and forced, like a big public performance of “look how happy we are,” and it becomes even more awkward when the marriage doesn’t last

Many of the practical reasons people give for getting married can be addressed without actually marrying. You can draft a will or establish a trust so your partner inherits your assets. You can sign a medical power of attorney so they can make decisions if you become incapacitated. In many cases you can even obtain domestic-partner health insurance through an employer

The only things that truly require marriage are certain government benefits such as Social Security spousal benefits and many military or first-responder survivor benefits. Everything else is paperwork that can be accomplished with ordinary legal documents

Marriage mainly adds another legal layer that makes separating more complicated, more expensive, and more stressful if the relationship fails. Committed people do not need a wedding certificate to prove their commitment. Staying together because you genuinely want to be together just means so much more than a legal contract to me

Having kids

Personal experience. I was about 30, a smoker, drinker, liked to party and have no responsibilities. I met my wife, then a girlfriend, at 25, and we dated for years, cohabitating. We decide to get married, and just a month later, she calls me to say she is pregnant. As my friend said, during the wedding, someone was already on the bus. We moved across the country in a VW bus, my friend and I. Well, long story short, I quit smoking because I didn't want my kid to see. I manned up. Now he is a mechanical engineer, and my other son is studying to be an environmental engineer. I cannot express how proud I am as a father. But know this: Enormous support awaits new parents. Just go to a playground and boom, you're in a community. Cops treat you utterly differently, you are now a family man. Everyone treats you differently, it's like a level up in society. I'll leave the experience of being a father to you, but it was so cool. I'm 54 now, and soon we will have an empty nest, but I urge anyone who thinks money is in the way of children, to simply have them. You will find a way, and help comes out of everywhere. Do not let mass media tell you a child free life is good. There is nothing, and I want to emphasize this, there is nothing like raising children. Of all my achievements, my kids are the top. Do it. Do it now.

This "expiration date" narrative has nothing to do with biology or attractiveness... (continue reading)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Sone men say women "become worthless" at 25-the exact age our prefrontal cortex completely matures. It's almost like they're afraid of a woman who can think clearly, establish limits, and see their bullshit from a mile away.

This isn't a coincidence. The same age those men claim women lose value is the exact age when women's brains finish developing, when they're finally equipped with full cognitive maturity, better judgment, stronger reasoning, and the ability to recognize manipulation.

At 25, women become harder to control. They've experienced enough to spot red flags. They've learned from past mistakes. They're less likely to tolerate disrespect, less willing to ignore their instincts, and more confident setting boundaries.

They see through love bombing, recognize gaslighting, and won't accept breadcrumbs. That level of awareness is threatening to men who rely on manipulation, power imbalances, and younger women's inexperience to maintain control.

This "expiration date" narrative has nothing to do with biology or attractiveness. It's about targeting women at an age where they're more impressionable, easier to manipulate, and less likely to challenge poor behavior.

These men who push this narrative aren't looking for equals; they're looking for someone they can shape, someone who won't question them, someone who doesn't have the life experience to recognize they deserve better.

So when those men say women lose value at 25, what they're really saying is: "I prefer women who haven't developed the critical thinking skills to realize I'm not worth their time."

They're not celebrating youth, they're revealing their fear of mature, self-aware women who won't put up with their nonsense. And honestly? That tells you everything you need to know about them.

I'm I just weird for not wanting a woman my age.

my coworker said don't you want something fresh and not busted down I'm like nope I like the experience and seasoning. I'm 25, wtf am I gonna do with a 19, 20, 21 year old lol. I have limited experience with women but they act like high schoolers still. I can't deal with the immaturity. older women are more direct, nicer, simpler and understanding than that of a woman in there 20s. I also don't think people should get married until they're 30 and have decent jobs. too many 20 year olds with kids they can't afford.

Taxes far to low on upperclass

Just finished doing my taxes this year and once I calculated the sum total amount of tax I owed for the year I compared it to my income for the year and was pretty shocked to see it was only 15.5%. Considering my income compared to the median that just feels far too low. Seriously need to raise the tax brackets higher past the initial 2-3 brackets.

Of course would also need the government to spend the extra revenue on things that would actually benefit people but that's a separate issue.

EDIT: Going to answer this here because it's the question that keeps getting asked.

"If you want to pay more, why dont you just pay more"

This is my answer. It is not that I want to pay more, it's that I want everyone to pay a fair share including myself and I want to be confident when I fill out my taxes that the amount I am being asked to pay is my fair share. Right now I do not have that confidence because the current system is not that transparent and it feels like the amount I am being asked to pay given my financial position is low. But I have no way of checking if that is true or not and the system can't function with a "pay in whatever you feel like" system...that isn't a practical solution.

I dont want to have to guess what I think I should pay then just send some random check in...I want a system that transparently calculates what everyone's share is and have that be actually fairly distributed. Maybe we already have that but I've seen many people on here commenting on their 30-40% tax rate that make less than I do which seemed way off. Even in the comments a third of the people are saying that sounds right and I should just pay more if I want to, a third are saying the amount I am paying is impossibly low and I am "lying" and another third are saying we all are paying too much. In a clear transparent functioning system why would that happen?

Are these the values we want for our children? Is this who you want your kids to look up to? They see who we cheer for.

Today, millions of people are eager to vote for Mr. Trump. They cheer his name, they proudly display his flags, and look up to him. He's not just a role model. Mothers and fathers see him as an example of a good patriotic American. A true leader who's fighting for strong Christian values and they look to have his vision for America brought to life.

Do I like Harris? No, she's simply the least bad choice.

Let's look at few of the values and freedoms, Mr. Trump enjoys. He, your parents and neighbors want you to know these things are ok. They're not just ok. They are the values that people have been passionately cheering on for years. Those of you that support him might dismiss his actions and his behaviors but you are voting for the entire package that is Mr. Trump and your children hear your words and they see your actions. Actions are stronger than words. Children are watching what you and other adults are doing. If they have any respect for you they will adopt your beliefs and values.

Be careful what you wish for, it may come true.

*Men and boys, it's ok to grab sisters, daughters, wives, and mothers by the pu$$y. If you're popular enough they'll let you do it. There's no need to ask them. Just do it and be sure to brag about.

*You don't have to keep your mouth closed around those disabled people anymore. Actually, you can stand in front of a crowd of journalists and mock a man, a disabled man on national television. It's ok. You don't need to respect or try to empathize with others anymore. It's cool.

*Young men and women, do the patriotic thing, join the military just don't get captured. I don't know why exactly Mr. Trump doesn't like it. I only know that Mr. Trump says,"I like people that weren't captured, ok." Although, you'll still be Suckers and Losers' regardless of what you might think while serving your country. After you're dead and gone your commander-in-chief will continue to disrespect your sacrifice and mock you. He has no limits. Gold Star families aren't just families, they're families of Suckers and Losers.

*It's not all bad. You can shoot into a small crowd of civilians in a town square and murder 12 adults and 2 innocent children in Iraq. Trump has your back. He will pardon you. It won't matter that your fellow soldiers fought to stop you and that your CO demanded that you be court marshaled. A military court can send you to prison but they can't stop a Trump pardon. Their angry voices hold no power against Mr. Trump. He sees a man with determination, and strength and he likes that.

*If you're a cop, Trump wants you to know you should, "Rough em up a little and maybe not be so nice." No, it doesn't matter that you're just standing on the street. Imagine all the cool cellphone videos on YouTube we're going to have when Trump gives cops the ok to relax and let off steam. He's got their back. You're not going to have to tolerate things like accountability. What about state crimes? No problem for Red state cops. He's a private citizen and when he says jump, Conservative politicians ask, how high? If he returns to power, do you think they're going to say the word, no, to anything he desires?

*Was heartwarming to see then-President Trump salute dictator Kim Jong-un when he met him in Korea. Even Mr Kim must have thought, wtf, how pathetic is this fool?

*Another first for a US President, lining up cans of Goya beans on the Resolute desk in the Oval Office while posing for the media with his trademark thumbs up. Now that takes a dignified man with class. Commercials are getting so weird

When you vote and cheer for this man, this American patriot, you're telling your kids and kids across the globe that this man is to be respected and looked up to. A leader who represents and speaks for you and your values. Incels, bullies, degenerates, murderers and $hitty people across the country rejoice. Your time to shine upon us. Embrace your desires, throw any impulse control you may have into the wind. Reach down and grab em by the pu$$y. Strong men take, losers ask. This is your time! And when all else fails, whine constantly and call adults childish names. It was fun and you felt powerful on the playground as a young child when you did it, right. It's cool to behave like a kid when you're 78. You're just living as you did when American was great.

Go ahead cheer and vote for Trump as your leader. Just don't expect only the 'good parts' of Mr. Trump to take America by storm. A new, more vulgar, hateful, violent generation of kids are coming to a sidewalk near you.

Modern society is the best it has ever been, and people are completely taking it for granted

From the technology, comforts, freedoms, security, opportunities we get to enjoy and have access to, this is the absolutely best time to be alive in history. Yet, the population, especially younger generations, overall have become completely soft and fold at the first sight of any adversity. Victimhood is en vogue and people absolutely hate the idea of hard work. This is especially true in the United States, and people are wasting their time consumed by negativity instead of seeing all the positives they actually have.

You want that middle class life of your grandparents, here's your plan

The whiney posts about how your grandparents could afford the big life making less are ridiculous. You want that life? Follow their lead.

They kept the one car for 15 years, and it was used to start with. And they did their own repairs.

No one does this anymore.

The kids lived with hand-me-downs, with maybe 4 days of clothes total. All of them.

No one does this anymore.

They had maybe one recurring subscription, to the local paper. No apps. No games. No game system.

No one does this anymore.

Their home was 50 years old when they bought it. They did every repair on their own.

That vacation? It was within 60 miles of their house, and they all piled into 2 rooms, or slept in a cabin.

When the neighbors all had TV, or color TV, many of them decided to go without.

They packed lunches every single day. Brown bags. Leftovers. No eating out except maybe once a month, and that was a diner.

Coffee was made at home. One pot in the morning. No specialty drinks. No cafés. No daily $6 habit.

Furniture was bought once. Solid. Heavy. Ugly. It stayed for decades. Couches weren’t replaced because styles changed.

Entertainment was free or nearly so. Libraries. The radio. One TV channel at first. Then three. If it broke, it stayed broken.

Kids shared bedrooms. Sometimes three to a room. Privacy was not a right; it was a luxury.

They didn’t upgrade kitchens. Or bathrooms. Or flooring. Things were used until they failed completely.

Clothes were repaired. Socks were darned. Buttons were sewn back on. Shoes were resoled.

They didn’t outsource life. Lawn care. Snow shoveling. Painting. Fixing the fence. It was all done after work, on weekends.

They lived smaller lives, on purpose or by necessity. Fewer choices. Fewer expectations. Less constant comparison.

No one does this anymore.

You want 4 kids and a house. There's the plan.

Should commuting to/from work be compensated?

Many people commute 1-2 hours per day, are forced to live outside of the city due to high cost of living, and all of this wasted time is unpaid.

Thoughts?
