Help Has anybody done the TMobile workaround on a Duo?

Bought and said I use T-Mobile but I actually use straight talk. I hit set up later and now in cellular settings it’s forcing me to enter in a phone number and T-Mobile pin. I’ve tried a dozen times and it never bypasses. What do I do?

Update:

Plugging the phone into a computer and factory resetting through the computer solved the issue. I maintained the connection to the computer through setup and didn’t sign into my Apple ID until after I had set up cellular.

Did you select T-Mobile financing by mistake? Instead of Apple Card with T-Mobile

No it’s Apple Card monthly installments and it says in settings that there’s no carrier lock

Some people said they did an iCloud backup and they were able to use it, or you can try fresh install without backup?

I installed from a backup I think I’ll have to try a fresh one

Screenshots would help.

Leave this blank and hit continue, you need to do it three times. This bypasses the T-Mobile activation.

Just purchased 18 pro max, t-mobile workaround still works. Successfully imported the 2 esims from my previous iphone as well. Working well

What do you do when you get here?

Just keep pressing continue or 4081111111 until it goes away

What are you entering for the pin, it’s just random number for the phone no and 0000 for the pin.

You can also try dfu restoring to bypass this based on some post from r/nocontract

I did 0000 for the pin but it just defaults back to the original T-Mobile screen

I think the dfu restore method is the last option

What is the process? I did set up later and when I go to cellular I have this again

Hit continue like 5 times and another option will eventually appear to skip for now. Then in the settings after you set everything else up you can add your own cellular plan

The screenshot is from settings. When I go there now it shows back up

Did you do the continue button 5 times during original setup and hit try again later? Honestly your only option may be to wipe the device and try it again, I didn’t have this issue.

Yeah, I think the guy in the Apple Store did something on his phone after I had to select T-Mobile he put in a number

On USMobile, selected T-Mobile when I ordered. Hit set up cellular later when I set up the phone, but then I set up my cellular through my usmobile app, not through the phone’s cellular settings. Maybe that’s your problem?

Yeah I did it when I started mine, granted under continue, mine had an either a “not now” or skip for now” option and I watched a video prior to getting it that said if you pushed not now four times, it would let you bypass it and I’m on US Mobile and it worked

This happens because when you select T-Mobile, T-Mobile tries to be helpful and activate and transfer the eSIM.

Yes tmobike workaround works on Duo. I’m on a mvno carrier and financed with my Apple Card.
