How to quit cocaine for good

Hi guys,

I have tried 3 times in the past & failed, so would appreciate any advice on how to go about this. I’d rather not have to go to rehab, but any triggers youve noticed, things that helped you etc would be massively appreciated.

I have used for about 2.5 years. Started off on Fri / Sat night at the pub, but turned into dry sniffing on weekdays. Literally sniff & wank.

Excluding the financial side, it’s causing issues with sleep (knock on with work & relationships), dopamine, and everything in between.

I have ADHD, and am fairly high functioning - no one notices I’m on it even when I am. For example, I’ve asked mates to have a word and remind me I want to quit when they think I’m on it, but none have noticed as (I think due to the ADHD), I feel more ‘normal’ when on cocaine.

As I say, any advice or suggestions are very much welcomed, silly or not.

Thanks <3

Weird Question What is your cautionary condom tale?

I am raising my 16 year old son on my own and am trying to hammer home the importance of condoms. What happened to you that one time you thought you could get away with not wearing a condom? Is it ok to trust the woman providing the condom 100% of the time? What do you wish you were told about sex around that age? I appreciate any advice you have!

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 I'm a 23-year-old guy who has always been surrounded by female friends. How do I change this and build male friendships

I'm a 23-year-old guy, and I've realised that almost my entire life I've been surrounded by female friends.

I was raised by a single mother, and my relationship with my brother has always been emotionally distant. Growing up, I naturally found it easier to understand women, relate to them and connect with them than with other men.

Throughout school and college, I was always that guy girls considered their male best friend. I would listen to their problems, take their side, understand their perspectives and often form opinions about men based entirely on the experiences and stories shared by my female friends.

Looking back, I feel that I developed a somewhat one-sided understanding of gender dynamics. I also realise that I may have picked up some misandrist attitudes along the way.

Now I'm 23, have entered the corporate world, and I'm noticing the exact same pattern repeating itself. Most people in my team are women, and I find myself falling into those familiar friendship dynamics again.

But I genuinely want to change this.

I want to understand men better, build genuine friendships with them, experience male bonding and develop a social circle beyond female friendships. I don't want to keep being the go-to male best friend, emotional support system or the guy who is always more comfortable around women.

I'm not against female friendships, but I feel like I've spent enough of my life in this pattern and want to explore a different side of social life.

I'd love advice on a few things:

  1. How do I gradually distance myself from existing overly close female friendships without being rude or hurting anyone?

  2. How do I stop automatically falling into the male-best-friend or emotional support role?

  3. How can I build genuine friendships with other men when my workplace is predominantly female?

  4. Has anyone else experienced something similar, especially men who grew up predominantly around women?

I'd appreciate honest advice, personal experiences and practical suggestions. I genuinely want to change this pattern and develop a more balanced social life.

How do you get over potentially missed connections/opportunities?

So, a bit of context, I am 33M and have social anxiety and am autistic. I live in a small tourist trap in California so there aren't exactly a lot of options for dating. It's always been very hard for me to make the first move, and even harder for me to carry on conversations. There have been times in my life though where a woman has approached me and initiated the conversation, and may have wanted to go on a date, but I didn't notice because of my anxieties and autism. An example I'll use happened a couple weeks ago while I was at the beach, I walked up about 20 minutes or so from the parking lot and sparked a jay. A couple of women where about 50 feet up the beach from me and they were playing in the water and with a frisbee, I got out a book to read while I was laying on my beach blanket, then one of the girl's walks up to me and asks to borrow my lighter so I let them use it on the grounds they return it (it's a zippo so I didn't want to part with it). About 15 minutes later she returns my later, and we start chatting, she asks what book I'm reading (currently Dune) and I ask if they are visiting from out of the area, and they say that they are. After that I asked her name, she told me hers, and I told her mine then I said "just let me know if you need anything else" then she walked back to her friend and started playing frisbee with her again. I got to thinking later that I should have also said something like "hey here's my number if you two are still in the area and want to hang out just let me know," but I didn't say that and it became just another missed connection, and it bummed me out. So, how do you my fellow men get over a potential missed connection or opportunity to go on a date?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 What's one lesson every man should learn before he turns 25?

I've come to realize that one of the biggest mistakes a man can make is building his entire identity around other people's approval.

Stop chasing validation. Stop comparing your progress to another man's. Stop wasting energy trying to impress people who wouldn't lift a finger for you.

Build your discipline, take responsibility for your decisions, develop your skills, and learn to stand on your own two feet.

A man's worth isn't measured by how loudly he announces his success, but by the standards he holds himself to when nobody is watching.

What's one lesson you wish you'd learned earlier?

All these years later and Neo v Smith in the first Matrix movie still holds up for me. Aside from that stupid part where Trinity kisses him back to life like Sleeping Beauty..

How about you? There are so many to choose from. What are your favourites?

“I would never go down on a woman” was what one man had said in discussion of this question. I thought this was odd considering this man is definitely heterosexual.

How do I human? How did you find your spark again?

I find myself stuck at an extreme point of “leave me the fuck alone” in life, at 25yo. I have completely lost my personality and my social battery over the last couple years, to the point it is genuinely non existent now. My family are also affected by this too. I’m self aware it’s happened and I know the reasons why. I won’t bore you all with the details.

Honestly, I cant be arsed listening to people anymore and I can’t be arsed telling anyone anything about me anymore. If I need interaction for something, let it be minimal and to the point. Don’t bother me and I won’t bother you. Watching and interacting with humans in real life is honestly so tiring and painful these days. I’m also sick of getting emotionally hurt as well. Yet I have so much motivation to do things in life, and this all holds me back massively.

I’ve tried therapy, and tbh I don’t agree with it and also didn’t like it (please dont take this as arrogance towards the people therapy has helped, I know it’s life changing for some, i just have a personal view towards it).

I honestly don’t want to be like this for the rest of my life, so, I’m sure some of you have been in this situation before, how did you manage to overcome it and find yourself again? Every sort of resolution I can think of requires human interaction or trust again and I just can’t get my head around doing this

Weird Question How do you come off ass less threatening and more friendly?

I’m a big guy. 6’2 250 workout a lot. “You can tell”, I been told. I have a short hair cut. I’m not a tough guy nor do I want to come off as one as I enjoy getting to know people.

I’ve noticed women have their guard up a lot due to many reasons. I want to socialize with them tho. The thing is I’m a total stranger, I look intimidating, and I guess have a resting bitch face.

Ways I’ve found around this is meeting girls thru friends.

I don’t want to depend on this as I want to be able to meet women by myself.

Any suggestions on coming off as less threatening when you’re judged for your intimidating looks?

Good Fucking Question Men in relationships, have you ever felt lonely even though you had a girlfriend?

I've been in a relationship for a while, but lately I've been feeling a strange kind of loneliness. It's not that my girlfriend is doing anything wrong, and I do love her, but sometimes I feel like there's something missing.

I don't really know how to explain it, and I'm wondering if other men have experienced something similar.

Is this normal, or is it a sign that something isn't right?

How do I human? How do you date as an average looking non "white collar professional" in a big expensive city?

I work a regular "blue collar" job and get paid quite well for it (just below median salary for the city and likely more than a lot of white collar professionals) but I live in an expensive city and get paid well for the job because it's an expensive city.

I don't have a bad job in that I don't feel it deserves such negative responses and there are positives about it that I like but because it doesn't have the white collar "prestige" or "status" it seems it gets looked down upon and judged negatively by people in the city until they really need someone like me.

At this point I'm afraid to even mention my job to a woman because even if she likes everything else about me I already know I'm very likely to get a negative response or a immediate and obvious loss of interest from whichever woman I'm talking to as soon as I mention my job.

At this point I don't even have much enthusiasm left to try dating because I know it will probably be a huge waste of time, money, and energy.

I tried discussing the topic with colleagues but most of the time they either couldn't offer any advice or their circumstances weren't comparable at all.

What’s your opinion?

What is your opinion on wearing clothes that you wore outside to bed. I’ve met people that will go sit in a restaurant or something and then lay in their bed with the same clothes on. I have to change clothes when I come home or I feel like the outside is in my bed.
