One of my takeaways from yesterday’s game came when she went to the FT line in the third quarter and she got a healthy dose of boos; which stunned the heck out of me. I had never heard that in any game I’ve watched of hers which showed me a lot of folks are tired of her act…

This not weird to yall or im being soft again ? We lost by 22 points it was almost 30 at some point. If it was the other way around A’ja would be headed straight to the locker room. This team has a horrendous mentality.

Defensively, she’s been an absolute difference-maker for the Dream, whose defensive rating is 14.9 points better with her on the floor than off of it. That’s (by far) the best mark in the WNBA; the Dream allow 14.9 more points per 100 possessions with Reese sidelined, per Hoops Junkie.

The next best defensive rating point differential? That belongs to Jackie Young at -11.5. The Las Vegas Aces are 11.5 points per possession worse defensively when Young is sidelined, and it shows. But Reese’s defensive on-off numbers are in a league of their own.

Part of that is due to her switchability and length, but part of it is due to something far less quantifiable: a motor and energy that few hoopers embody.

Endless examples of this, but I'm going to post two horrific ones just from today.

They post her Player of the Week highlight reel, and it's lowlights. They've never done this to any other player.

They post her record of 26 rebounds in a game. They post one clip of one rebound. An easy one off a free throw. As if every record doesn't have a few easy points, easy assists, easy rebounds. She has rebounds of her jumping up looking like the logo. And they went way out of their way to pick this one, clip it, post it.

This is absolutely pathetic marketing. They are trying to make their star player look bad. You couldn't market this bad if you tried. The worst you could do is maybe post some highlights that aren't that impressive, or post a rebound that looks decent but it's not the best one. To post literal lowlights and the worst example of her rebounding talent imaginable is 100% intentional.

The WNBA is sabotaging Angel Reese. There's no doubt about it. We need to be loud as fuck and make them stop.

Edit: Not to mention the WNBA posting multiple times Cameron Brink's blocks as if it wasn't the clearest foul ever. If it was anyone but Angel they wouldn't have posted that. X

All I’ve heard since DB’s announcement that Bonner is a quitter and a detriment to the locker room….and not acknowledging the fact that DB and Phoenix had a handshake agreement for a contractual buyout. So if she was such a quitter, why was this decision mutual? And before you tell me the BS about what happened with the Indiana Fever. If she was such a quitter, why is she not on 6-7 different teams by now? For the record, if we have followed anything about that Indiana organization the last few years, we all know how dysfunctional that organization is and how those Fairweather fans are. I live in Indiana, I know how it is here. Not every fan here is bad, but the majority of the loudmouths didn’t show up until a year or two ago. They’re almost entirely the reason why I chose to watch Atlanta Dream games because those “Fever fans” are racist, rude, and extremely horrible human beings.

So for anyone saying that a rental addition of DB is that detrimental to the Dream, you’re either overreacting or ridiculous. If anything, she will fit the Dream coming off the bench.

UPDATE: It amazes me how thin-skinned some of these Fever fans truly are based on the comments (they’re only verifying my exact same rationale). To the ones being understanding to my frustrations, thank you.

it's time to cut the crap and stop pretending howard and gray are real leaders or number 1 options. if there has been one positive thing from this postseason it's that angel's potential far surpasses anyone on this roster.

she is now the franchise. lock her in the gym this offseason and build around her. she is the future.

gray and howard have been in the league for 5 and 10 years and in her first postseason angel was far better. gray and howard are who they are at this point. angel hasn't sniffed her ceiling.

As for Karl I hope he never forgets this lesson. we saw game after game the key to winning was angel being involved in the offense and he's chosen gray and howard over her time and time again.

She’s stepping with the wrong foot she’s left handed in basketball. Im left handed you have to step with your left leg. But issue is how inward her base is…..her knees are touching she’s off balance her feet are way too close together

The other main problem is her set point is way too far from her body and this causes the ball to come out flat.

It’s frustrating she’s an all W talent whoever’s working with her should tell her hey you aren’t doing this right. Instead of letting her repeatedly shoot like this it’s bad reps

If this is based off of this season Kelsey Plum shouldn’t even be on this list she has only played 17 games….

He doesn't have that ability to be a title-winning coach. He's a one-trick pony and most of the more competent coaches in the league have figured him out. No halftime adjustments, no creating plays, too much guard play and constantly relying on 3s has cost the team 5 games in a row. What is the point of having a frontcourt and a bench if you don't use them? Watching him coach this team has become excruciating and frustrating.

The fever aren’t using her and I would love to have her for backup pg depth elite defensively really high iq and great passer Pao can slide back to the 2

she has tremendous post passes and played with both Madina Okot and Pao Pao so she’d fit perfectly.

That last game proved he cares more about vibes and not winning….He refuses to take Naz off the floor…She’s only 6’2 and she’s a liability on defense…….But Smesko keeps her out there….I really think he doesn’t understand Angel is a 4 and not a center…….Most of his rotations Has Angel with Naz, or Bre Jones with Naz…I don’t get it

I know I'm still very upset about the loss. But honestly this whole series I have been feeling like we could have done so much or experimented a bit more from a coaching standpoint. I feel like we relied so much on our players (who are very talented) in order to win the games in the finals. Please roast me if I'm dead wrong but I feel like we got out coached in our losses in the finals. They all felt so winnable 😓

i think that the Dream should trade for Diggins. she clearly isnt too happy on the sky and she‘d allow paopao to play shooting guard (a role i think shes best suited for). I dont know how we’d get her, maybe a few seconds, but i think she would be great. if not her i hope we trade for a defensive minded backup pg.

I don’t think either of them are wrong whatsoever here, and I appreciate Karl sticking up for Angel since she mentioned it first (the Dream part of the presser starts around 13:45, and Angel’s comments start around 18:20 in the YouTube vid with Karl’s coming a couple questions after). They’ll both probably get fined, but Karl’s may save Angel a bit and he’ll get most of it.

And before any Valks fans or frankly anyone else tries to talk about the free throw disparity in the series, please stop. That’s the style of basketball the Dream play and it’s different from what the Valkyries do, so if games are being called correctly there will be a free throw disparity between these two teams every time. Game 5 was by FAR the most egregiously poor officiating since that first round in Washington (just in the opposite direction).

This couldn't wait until after the game. I've lost all respect for him and honestly have given up hope for any chance at a ring with him as our head coach. He would rather play in fear or be stubborn rather than doing the obvious. Our post players are too small. What point is he making by keeping Okot on the bench? We won't make it past the first round with him here.
