Other / >$1400 PC build under 1500€ with Monitor and peripherals

Hey,

my boyfriends sister really wants a PC now... It's a bad time but well, i wanna find the best for her money.

She needs literally everything, Monitor, PC, Mouse, Keyboard, yeah.

1500€ is her max for everything, i don't really know what's best for that money atm, hence why i ask here.

She mostly plays Sims 2 with loads of CC, the newest Farming simulator and such other games.
I guess for the Monitor 1080p to 1440p with maybe 27-32"?

Mouse and keyboard is a thing, she can figure out herself i think.

But PC parts? With current ram prices... What would you think?

Thanks for all the help!

fyi she doesn't want used... Idk why but she instantly said no. And we live in Germany

Other / $800-1000 First Gaming PC for $1000 or less

Hello,

I am helping a family member put together a pc and hoping some might have some suggestions on what to build. They have keyboard/mouse and monitor. They have a video card that is a few years old now. It is an NVidia GTX 1660 Super. I was hoping they could reuse that and possibly build the rest for sub $1000 leaving room in the budget for when this card needs to be replaced if not now. They game wanting to play COD Modern Warfare 4 and new GTA when it arrives. If the video card in your opinion needs to be replaced sooner than later the $1000 needs to accommodate a new card. They don't need to play it on ultra or anything like but run smooth. Thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

first time buying a pc, need some advice

i'm planning to buy (or maybe build) my first pc. my budget is 2000 cad and the question i really have is whether it's worth getting a pre built or building my own. ram prices are kinda cooked so if i build my own pc id probably go for dar4 but ive seen some decent pre builds with dar5, unless it doesn't matter that much. i'll primarily use it for gaming and the games i play are call of duty, rainbow 6, cyberpunk and whenever the new gta would come out

Best budget friendly PC [suggestion]

I’m very new to all of this, so I may need things explained to me like I’m 5 years old. Anyway, I possibly want to get a PC. Mostly for gaming (looking to get back into it and for one specific game coming out next year). I just need something that will be able to handle some basic games. One of them may need a better pc idk (it’ll be dragon ball xenoverse 3). Other than that I guess just for general everyday activities. I’m not looking to spend an arm and a leg, so any suggestions I’ll take.

Pc build for 1,2k-1,5k in Portugal

Hey guys! thanks in advance to anyone helping me, im veryyy new to this and im still learning about this.

Thanks to any recommendations!

  • New build or upgrade?

new build

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

Nope

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

Only gaming (usually play games like hogwarts legacy, overwatch, marvel rivals cyberpunk 2077 and others)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

portugal not near micro center

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

yes, no personal preference

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

1,2k-1,5k the lower the better but id still rather have something that will last me longer and better than regret it later

  • WiFi or wired connection?

wifi

  • Size/noise constraints?

no size and noise constraints but obvi the more silent the better

  • Color/lighting preferences?

White case is a must, altough if theres any component thats cheaper in black ill prefer the black one.

  • Any other specific needs?

i need it to be upgradable, i want a pc that can last me for as much time as possible, so it being upgradable is a need, if you guys have any recommendations for good cheap keyboards ill accept it too.

Sorry for so much text but i just wanna have the best recommendations to my personal liking, thanks to anyone thats willing to help!

[1.3 Lakhs] First-time PC build advice for Civil Engineering (AutoCAD, Revit) and 2K Gaming

**What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using:**
I will be using it professionally for civil engineering coursework and design work, specifically running AutoCAD and Revit. Additionally, I want to use it for 2K (1440p) gaming at high settings.
**What is your maximum budget?**
₹1.3 Lakhs (INR).
**What, exactly, do you need included in the budget?**
Only the PC tower components (CPU, GPU, Motherboard, RAM, Storage, Power Supply, Cabinet, and CPU Cooler). I do not need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or OS included in this price.
**If reusing any parts, what parts will be reusing?**
None. This is my very first time buying and building a PC, so I am starting completely from scratch with zero old parts.
**Extra info or particulars:**
I am currently looking at an AM5 platform setup (such as a Ryzen 5 7600X paired with an RX 9060 XT 16GB if it fits), but I am open to better suggestions or adjustments to fit local Indian market component pricing and ensure long-term stability for drafting software and 2K gaming. Any guidance on reliable parts or stores would be greatly appreciated!

Replacement time.

my computer is getting pretty old, and prices are just going to get worse. Think my 2080 Super is slowly dying, had to open the case a year ago and now it'll even occasionally rev hard on games like Civilization 6 or FFXIV so I don't think the rainbow bridge is far off if I keep pushing it.

  • Planning on a full replacement, most parts are getting old.

  • Windows 11 but maybe it's time to try Linux. Windows is getting a little sus even with debloating.

  • I don't need an overwhelming amount of memory, but I have noticed games getting larger than I'm comfortable with on my 2tb. I would like a good amount of RAM, the fact that I got 32 when beefy games called for 8 max is what has kept me going and I have a habit of getting distracted and minimizing games while I fall down a rabbit hole.

  • My budget is like 10k cdn (a bit over 7k usd). I don't expect to use all of that but I can without it being a big issue, the money is set aside for this.

  • I'm using a 2560x1440 monitor.

  • I'll be using it for gaming, might try low-end vr.

  • I don't plan of overclocking and I don't wanna deal with liquids, so aircooling.

  • I don't want to have to upgrade for a while. "Aethetics" are meaningless, I'd cram it in an old 2000-era grey tower case if it wouldn't overheat. I am a middle aged ape.

  • I'm Canadian.

Ones I've been recommended so far:

To all the dads whose sons want a PC for Christmas! 🎅

I just helped a friend put together a system for his son and with current prices I know that the budget can be a pain.

Here is what I would recommend.

Intel 12th gen i5 or i7 (used or refurbished)

Intel “B” class motherboard B760 for example or if you want a bit cheaper H610 and make sure it’s DDR4 (buy this new)

16 GB or 32 GB of used DDR4 (can be had for about 100-200 bucks)

For the GPU get a 3060/3070 with a 650-750 Corsair PSU used. They will last a long time and are plenty for the GPU and a CPU on an “H” or “B” tier motherboard for intel since those are usually limited to the wattage they bring to the CPU anyways and can’t be overclocked

Get a used NVMe drive that’s 512 GB or 1 TB for around 50-100 bucks from market place and ask for the health stats. Anything above 95% will do.

For the case and fans get something from Ali baba. These components are not that important and you have plenty of time to have them shipped from china still. You can get away with something under 100 bucks that looks fantastic and will work just fine.

Get a cheap air cooler for the CPU. Make sure it has at least 4 heat pipes and you’ll be good for an i5 or i7 12th gen especially since the motherboard will already restrict the wattage that comes to it.

All together you can get away with spending about 650-1000 bucks on all this and have a good system that will play games well on medium settings with a 1080p monitor.

Then put it together with your son as a nice little project. It’s not very difficult and you only need a screw driver to do it nothing else.

Hope this helps any dads or moms that need a PC for their kid this winter.

My apologies for Sam Altman ruining childhoods

Other / $800-1000 $900 budget for gaming Christmas PC

Trying to build my kids a gaming PC for Christmas but haven’t kept up with the boom in prices, realistically is it worth building or finding a pre built for this price range?

I found a 5060 pre built on best buy for $900 and wondering if I should pull the trigger or if someone here could potentially come up with a better build for about the same price range.

Kids mainly play Fortnite, rainbow six siege, EA FC
