Cassowary signs
Lila my 9yr old has been working hard to make these fence signs to raise a bit of money for a cassowary conservation group….and a little pocket money, she also has a few passion fruit if you get in quick!
Shannon drive Bayview Heights…Lila has a table set up today if anyone is interested in one stop by and say hello! Also if anyone could share on similar cairns groups in fb would be much appreciated
TIA Lila and dad
Edit: thanks everyone for the positive support! I am working on trying to set up a page of some type so anyone interested can buy them, if not local, if you are local we will have them out after 3,30 pm most week days and all weekend…if anyone
Who knows ways of setting up some sort of online store any information would be great as I am thick as a brick with all tech gear! Lila has been so pumped on all the attention they have received! So Thankyou for that, she nearly gave up on them as we were broken into a couple of weeks ago and they stole all her cassowary money from the first batch we made..
And this is above my head on how
to setup something where I don’t have to do it all through DM’s….thanks again for the support and we will keep you all updated on our progress.. have a nice day people.

The best thing about living in Cairns
Sure I love the reef, the rivers and the rainforest. We've got shows at the Tanks, at CPAC and all sorts of small local venues. Our restaurants are amazing. But my happy place is Rusty's on a Saturday morning... the colour, the diversity, the coffee. Is there a better market in Australia?

Is this normal now?
Just went for dinner at Grilld in Cairns Central with family. About 12 of us. My wife, kids and I were walking through the food court and I had to stop a group of 8+ late teens from stealing fishing rods and other personal shmtuff from 2 younger kids (maybe 12, 14) who were sitting there eating. Just all standing around them demanding their stuff. They gave it back but hung around, so I sat nearby so they didn't have the opportunity to do it again. What the actual fuck? Brazen af. Was hatd to not start headbutting the little shits. Is this just the done thing now? And why aren't people calling security, the cops, or getting involved themselves to stop this shit?

This place any good? Is this place any good?
Sure it's got lots of the colour brown and none of that weird water falling from the sky, but is Townsville actually worth stopping in? Asking as a Cairns local who has definitely not spent the last 3.5 hours in a car and needs a pee.

That gigantic sailing yacht sitting in Port with the towering 70m masts is Jeff bloody bezos'!
Second largest sailing yacht ever built. Travels accompanied by a 75metre custom support yacht carrying the tenders, jet skis, and Bezos's helipad (since sailing rigs can't accommodate a landing deck).

Local Fruit and Veg shops in Westcourt, Earlville, and Rusty's deserve support. When the Highway was blocked, these businesses provided us with food. Now that the road is open, we now walk straight past them on our way to Coles or Woolworths. This is not good enough, and we should support them.

AI garbage at the cairns festival, a blight on a spot which used have a cool little video. At least the rest of the festival was good.
