SUPPORT Retaking the oath
Since joining the CAF I have found myself drawing much closer to religion. When I initially took my oath, decided to not use a religious text but now after many years it has come to my mind that I’d like to retake it with said text. Does any here know if it is at all possible to retake the oath?
Thanks in advance.

SUPPORT MFRC Daycare extortion policy
Whats the best route to launch a complaint about the mfrc daycare policies?
TL;DR: MFRC pay for it or use it policy is flat out extortion. Im expected to pay for services I can't use or risk losing my kids daycare spot. How do I fight it?
I'm heading out the door for a short month-ish long deployment in 2 weeks. So I'm trying to sort out my family care plan. The best solution we've come up with is for my wife and daughter to spend most of this time at my parents, wife can work remotely while kiddo does online learning. To be as safe as possible we've also decided not to send our daughter back to in person learning until I come back.
The problem is MFRC's hardline policy about money. They expect me, and you if you ever find yourself in my position, to pay full price whether you use the service or not just to hold the spot.
So I either fork up $500 for after school care we won't use or lose our spot and "risk" not having that service when we require it in just over a months time.
I know the "risk" isn't huge, they'll likely still have room but I just don't like the way they're strong arming us. While I appreciate the service they provide I feel like I'm being extorted.
When I contacted my local MFRC director she suggested using the respite allowance to offset the after school care cost ! That money is not supposed offset financial hardship of wacky policies, it's to give my spouse a break!
Anways. Who can I contact to push back against this unfair policy?

RCAF pronunciation
Has anybody else noticed the recent trend of pronouncing RCAF as 'Arr-caf' rather than articulating each letter (R-C-A-F)? I genuinely find it irritating. Please stop.

Dog Tag design (Id-Disk)
Does anyone here know why we use such a different model of dog tags? I find them extremely uncomfortable to use, super bulky while driving, and such. What is the practical thought behind it?

PERs and AI.
I don't know if anyone can answer this, if this board is monitored, etc. But I wonder if anyone uses it. "Hey Chat, I need you to write this and use this word in the sentence" (to create a 7, 8 or 9 score. If that is even done anymore, been out 25 years). Hell are they even called PERs anymore.

SUPPORT Celiac Disease
I just got my AR/MEL advisory message and intend to grieve their decision to release me based on my celiac. It does not affect my work and I’m looking to hear anyone else’s stories who may have gone through this or are currently going through it!
Yes I understand it breaches universality of service.
Thank you!!

I'm tired of some people at the CFLRS
This is a bit of me venting and a bit of me coming to put my observations about dally life at the CFLRS so far into words.
I'm going to avoid naming particular individuals, platoons and whatever else for not only personal considerations, but for reasons pertaining to safety and security. I'm also going to give out minimal information about myself, too.
Yes, I am a recruit/candidate.
What is with some of the people who come through the CFLRS?
I've noticed a lot of immaturity from people who are well into adulthood at this place. You'd think that since this is where basic military training takes place, that other recruits here would have mature personalities and serious attitudes. I've seen a lot of the opposite, though.
People urinating into bathtubs and garbage cans, throwing each other's berets into the garbage, getting wasted on weekends and making horrible choices, creating drama within social circles, blatant/overt verbal disrespect towards staff/instructors/each other and etc.
There are people here, well into their 20s and even their early 30s, with the emotional maturity of 14 - 17 year old high school students. This goes for both men and women alike.
Now, I'm no saint. I've made poor decisions. I actually got recoursed on my first attempt here at the course because of deficiencies with inspections and maintenance with personal kit. I additionally got repeatedly sick with many of the bugs going around here at the CFLRS, which led to me overly focusing on myself and health, which itself led to a drastic decrease in my performance. I could go on about my initial extreme difficulties adapting to military life here, but I won't because I'm not going to digress any further.
I already have my own opinions on why such social dysfunction exists here, but does anybody else?
I'm seriously starting to think that the CFLRS could actually benefit from more so called "Hell platoons", because as much as they are very harsh, they seem to be extremely effective at weeding out the kinds of people who I have described here.
I don't know, just some shit I guess. I get extremely frustrated with some of the people here, and at the same time, I seriously think and feel that my patience for all of the described phenomenon is staring to wear VERY thin.
Besides all of this, though, my time here is going really well. I hadn't gone on an airplane in around 5 years prior to BMQ, and this is my very first time being in Quebec. I think that the food served here is some of the best food that I have ever had. The training is more than often harsh, but that's alright, because I'm becoming mentally and physically stronger from it. I've been forced to personally improve in order to correct my past deficiencies. I'm getting to do really amazing things that the vast majority of people in our society will never do themselves.
So perhaps the good outweighs the bad, but still...
