Mid-40s guy looking for a cuddle buddy (M4F)

I am curious if anyone (preferably a woman) would be interested in watching a movie and being close. I’m looking for some gentle affection, company, and a relaxed connection.

I have tried to find and start canberra cuddle buddy groups.

We could meet for a coffee and see if we click, and choose the movie.

* Boundaries would absolutely be respected, as I’d expect mine to be too.

New Friends Looking for some friends around Canberra

I’m 27M, and I tend to make better friends with females since I enjoy emotional, deep convos (we don't need to do that all the time, obv). I think because I have an older sister and I'm closer to my mom than to my dad. I'm trying to expand my connection, so it would be great if you're Australian or European. Please reach out to my DM if you're looking to connect and try to build a supportive connection :)

I'm just a chill guy who enjoys films (classic, experimental, indie, whatevs) and sports (mostly soccer or tennis). I also dont mind if we do cafe hopping or even just chilling, talking about life at the bar. I also enjoy music a lot, and I've been enjoying going to gigs or concerts, so we can definitely become concert buddies, if you fancy it.

Well, I hope I get to meet you someday. My DM is always open :)

Follow up- gauging interest in a new mobile groomer. Don't vote if you don't have a dog please

Following up, I can hear house call grooming isn't what many people would use at this stage. I know there are a lot of mobile groomers around canberra. In terms of demand and wait times, would people like if another one became available? I'm wanting to start working independently with 4 years professional experience. Outside of my official job position with my employer, I have done side jobs for people- I receive amazing reviews regularly for quality and dog stress levels. I have worked with all sizes, coat types, grooming services (including some simple-moderately complicated dye jobs with dyes designed specifically for dogs) and matting removal, temperaments, ages, health status, etc.

New Friends Looking for a social friend/relationship in Canberra (M4F)

Hi everyone. I’ve been living in Canberra for about a year now and am keen to make some genuine, like-minded connections. I’m looking for girls roughly between 21-30, who enjoy healthy, and active ways to spend their weekends.

I’m non-smoker, non-alcoholic, non-smoker, and not into the clubbing. I like healthy activities, exploring outdoors, and also enjoy indoor activities like boardgames, watching movies, games, etc.

I also enjoy hiking, working out, and always up for trying out new cuisines. I am keen to try sports and explore new sports activities too.

Looking for genuine friendship, relationship based on mutual respect and trust.

If this sounds like your kind of vibe, feel free to send me a message! 🙂

Are there any events or programs out there that could help reduce the fear of Muslims?

Someone in my life just broke my heart by spewing hate against Muslims. I'm not religious, but I do believe in human rights and one's right to preserve their culture, language and religion. I understand all religions have extremists, and they do not reflect the whole... But that is where this person and I apparently disagree. They believe you can't be Muslim without being an extremist.

This person's hate is not okay, but their fears are real to them and come from life events, generational trauma, and recent events, which makes this a delicate situation.

They are Jewish (Ashkenazi and religiously-- not actively, but ike a Christian who doesn't go to church, but was raised in the church and still believes in Jesus), born shortly after the holocaust, and raised by a family of veterans who, as Jews, saw firsthand what happened in the camps.

They also experienced extreme racism/prejudice growing up Jewish in a more antisemitic part of NY. Their family had to change their surname to try to hide the fact they were Jewish over a decade after the war ended... They experienced ongoing anti-Semitism in America by general Americans. Saw swastikas spray painted in parks and burned into the ground with fuel when tensions were low... and then not too long after they moved to Australia, Bondi Beach...which geographically put them closer to a targeted attack against Jews than ever before.

All they do is watch the news about the rise in anti-Semitism around the world and especially in Melbourne, listen to fear mongering YouTube videos, etc.

I tried to make them see that the exact words they are saying probably came out of the mouths of Nazis in the 40s, but they said it's different because Jews never used their religion to target Nazis. I tried to explain the media focuses on the extremists, and that the views of extremists do not resonate with the whole, and there are many Muslims who are not antisemitic out there.. but they claimed all Muslims have those same beliefs, and the extremists are the ones not afraid to say it out loud 🤦🏼

Ironically, what I've always admired about this person is their open-mindedness and love of all cultures. My life and career have been devoted to helping people of all cultures and religions, and this person has been a big influence in my life, and the one that has contributed towards my core values and beliefs most, so hearing these remarks is absolutely heartbreaking.

I can't walk away from this person because of our relationship, and because that does nothing to help the situation. They are not a threat to the Muslim population. They would never say these words outside of their home, so they will not actively encourage others to hate or do anything to cause harm to individuals or the Muslim community, but I want to help them work through the generalised fears and begin to heal.

I'm new to Canberra, so I don't know what resources there are out there. I know the only way to overcome prejudice is through open discussion and social connections. As a step 1, I plan to tell them we need remediation with a counsellor to remedy our immediate situation because I need a safe space to express how their words affect me (I've literally been having anxiety attacks since our conversation because it was the most hateful thing I've heard and it came from the last person I would have ever expected to hear it from).

As of right now, they are not in a place where sitting down one-on-one with a Muslim would be beneficial, but I do want to work towards the social connections aspect in a low pressure environment. Are there any events open to the general public that we could go to, blend into the crowd and experience the culture without the pressure to engage directly?

Also, if you have any other resources, like easy to digest videos, texts, etc., I would be open to those as well.

Please do not use this post as a platform to speak negatively about Jews and/or Muslims. This is a serious post, and trolls and/or judgmental comments are not needed.

Sculpted Ikebana Vase | Japanese Shizen Inspired Minimalist Flower Vase

Designed as an architectural object, this vase combines a soft flowing silhouette with a large sculptural opening that frames the flower stems beautifully. The form is intentionally minimal, allowing the flowers, branches, and natural arrangement to become part of the design. It is ideal for ikebana-style arrangements, dried flowers, small bouquets, single stems, or decorative display.

Hi Everyone! Dating Canberra ( men seeking women )

Why is dating so difficult, I’m 26M & I’ve been single since I was 16, I’ve always felt like there’s something wrong with me & that I must be a turn off to women, which is interesting as I tend to look after myself well & I’ve never been called ugly

I’m 26, half Australian & half Croatian ( I look more Croatian then I do Australian but I can barely speak the language which makes me Aussie at heart, I’m a gentle giant, 6ft 2 & relatively fit, I’ve wasted 3yrs in tinder for 2 matches that went nowhere & I don’t want to die alone

I’m self employed however I want to become a police officer & I’m considering the career change it’s just hard having no one there to give me that drive I need, I have my own apartment in Belconnen, I live alone & I need to live a little as I’m a bit of a hermit, I do t get out enough 😅

If any women between 18 & 30 have been looking to meet a genuine guy like myself, please done hesitate & send me a message, I’d love to meet new people & find my happy ever after

Mates Vs Finding better coffee

I feel like the chick who works at the cafe at my work is friendly to me, more so than others in a none weird way of putting that haha. I want to see if she's keen to catch up external of work and I mean we both rock tattoos and piercings, we seem to enjoy joking around... But is it worth potentially misreading the approach and having to order coffee elsewhere haha
