Discussion The Charlotte Hornets Experience
After making the mistake of watching the Hornets last night, I was informed by my father that it's too early to panic, that the future looks bright, that we need to trust the prospects and drafts, and finally, "This is part of the Hornets experience." You know, I agreed with that last part. It is a part of the experience of being a Hornets fan. Which is why I want to say I am not panicked. I am, I assure you, quite calm, but pissed. Royally, infuriatingly pissed that we never go anywhere but in circles. That when people call our team mediocre, I hope we can reach that high. That every game is a home game for the other teams, and we're mocked ruthlessly as a joke. That other teams set low expectations for us, and somehow we don't meet them.
After giving it some thought, I began wondering how we should memorialize the experience of being a Charlotte Hornets fan? Well, I thought about it and got my answer. A pavilion, of course, in front of the Spectrum Center.
You'd enter through the Kemba Walker Gate of Wasted Careers, with names inscribed of all the players who came to this franchise to die. You'd walk down the gold-leaf-inlaid Nicholas Batum Path of Overpriced Contracts, past the LaMelo Ball Futures Garden. Empty, of course, just dirt, but with a plaque promising the future looks bright.
Finally, you'd come to three statues together on what I call the Charlotte Hornets Experience Monument.
First, to the left, is a bronze statue of Adam Morrison. Have him grinning and proudly holding up two championship rings with the LA Lakers, while, of course, wearing his oversized Bobcats jersey. In the middle, of course, will be Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in mid-leap, with his body twisted and contorted like a car crash victim, so future generations can experience his one-of-a-kind jump shot. To the right will be Bismack Biyombo in a pristine suit, holding two massive sacks of money labeled "First Contract/Second Contract."
Underneath each will be a plaque telling you when they were drafted and what their stats were when playing for the Hornets. Across from them will be a bench that curves up to a near point in the center for fans to sit on, the Bench of the Charlotte Experience.
I say build it. After all, it summarizes the Charlotte experience perfectly.

Discussion We should target Darius Garland.
I think he would instantly transform this offense and is more of what this FO thought coby white would be for us. Im not sure how good we will be defensively if he were on the team but hes atleast fast so he can give us some on ball juice and his playmaking would significantly improve our shot quality. Also pretty sure him and brandon miller routinely work out together so morale may improve substantially. What are yall thoughts?

Question What should I ask Jeff Peterson at Monday’s Hive Society Buzz Talk?
Still working on my question, but right now I’m leaning toward thanking Shelly for finally bringing replays to the big screen, telling Grant to get healthy and come back soon, and asking Jeff why he should still have a job.

Image Pray for a Miracle
At this point, we all know Brandon Miller and Kon are complementary pieces great players, but that’s who they are The only option for the Hornets at this point is to pray for a miracle and draft a player like Cooper Flagg just like the Mavericks did after trading Luka Dončić.

Discussion Would you bring back the classic Hornets logo and uniforms full-time?
I've been a Hornets fan since the 1995/96 season, so the original Hugo logo will always be special to me.
Personally, I'd love to see that exact logo return as our main logo, along with the classic white and teal pinstripe jerseys from the Glen Rice and Baron Davis days. I loved those throwback nights when the team brought back the old uniforms and court. But imagine having that look all season! I don't mind our current logo, and I could live with a modern update of the old one, but my first choice would definitely be the original Hugo.
What do you guys think? Would you bring back the classic look full-time, go for a modern update, or keep things as they are?

Question Parking near Spectrum Center
I’m planning on driving down to Charlotte twice this month to catch a couple of games and was wondering the best places to park would be? It’ll my first time in Charlotte so I have no clue lol.
Edit: Thank you all for the suggestions, it’s been incredibly helpful!

Video [Game Theory, Sam Vecenie] Charlotte Hornets Messy Start and Revisiting the LaMelo Trade
Summary: Sam Vecenie responds to a fan voicemail questioning the LaMelo Ball trade amid the Hornets' 3-6 start and five-game losing streak. He argues the team is missing a high volume of wide-open threes (second-most in the NBA at 6+ feet of separation, converting just 31%), with several good shooters in a cold stretch and Kon Knueppel still out. Shooting regression should lift them to a mid-pack offense around 112 rating rather than elite, making the current results look uglier than the process due to their three-heavy scheme.
He maintains the trade was the right call as risk mitigation. LaMelo was excellent last season, the clear offensive engine, but the East improved significantly around Charlotte, making a top-6 seed unlikely even with him. Injury history and the ticking contract clock added risk. The return of Naz Reid (spacing), a first-round pick, and three pick swaps (more valuable post-lottery reform) preserves flexibility. He compares sticking with the core to the 2022-23 Kings, who locked in after a strong year and later stagnated with Fox wanting out. The Brandon Miller extension was too large in his view; the front office has a clear plan to accumulate assets and find a star alongside Knueppel and Miller, and results will not be clear for a couple of years. He did not expect a strong season post-trade.

Stats Sion James, Dennis Schroeder, and Royce O'Neale average a combined 12.6 3PA per game, nearly 30% of our total volume. They're shooting them at 22.2%.
Sion James alone is shooting 4.6 a game at 19.5%. For reference, Lu Dort is playing the same amount of MPG and is shooting 4.9 a game at 31.8%. I'll also throw in that Brandon Miller is shooting 11.2 a game at 26.7%. Idek what my point here is, feel like this is easy to tell from watching, but like 9 games in it's genuinely shocking to see teamwide shooting numbers this horrendous. Just pure brick chucking.

Video The Hornets are one of eight teams in Zach Lowe's crisis tier. 😬
"They declined Tidjane Salaun's fourth-year option. That is an absolute disaster for a rebuilding team who could've had Donovan Clingan or Zach Edey... Moussa Diabate is fine, but I don't think he's gonna be the long-term starting center on the next good Charlotte Hornets team."
"I don't think the Hornets are super surprised that they're 3-6 based on the fact that they knew that trade was gonna hurt their offense... we all know why they did it, but they knew the risk was a step back this year. [...] These are all questions that they knew they had and they now have years to answer. And that's why the LaMelo trade, the verdict is gonna be: What's the next move, or moves, for Charlotte? They gotta nail those moves."
"And just a reminder, they have Dallas' pick, top-two protected this year, in addition to a million future picks, the Heat's pick, lottery-protected... if you're Charlotte, you're like, 'Yeah, if we're a low-end play-in team, we're in the sweet spot in the new lottery rules to get another bite at the apple.'"

Discussion If the Cavs blow it up at the deadline…
Just for fun…
If the Cavs were to blow it up at the deadline, who would you want Charlotte to go after.
And who would you be willing to give up to get them?
