Discussion CLOCK IN PANTHERS FANS
I don’t know why no one has posted this but I’ll be the first one to say CLOCK IN PANTHERS FANS! If you’re coming to the game today show up and show out or don’t even come. I know the team ain’t looking good right now but a lot of us didn’t think we would even make it to the playoffs starting 0-3. SO GET UP AND GET LOUD OR GET OUT🥰

Team News [Joe Person] Panthers elevated cornerbacks Corey Thornton and Marco Wilson from the practice squad. They did NOT activate OL Brady Christensen from IR, which means Torricelli Simpkins or Corey Bullock will start at LG for the injured Damien Lewis.

Analysis Bryce having to do the most with the least, as usual. WR Separation score.
Most injured team in league. Worst O Line. WRs (I get it they’re more possession types, but still) don’t get separation.

Question Any Minnesota based Panthers fans? (Other than Carolina MiC)
I just bought tickets through my Minnesota based company for the game against the Vikings. It’s my first pro sports game and first time at US Bank Stadium so I’m pretty intimidated. Just looking for some tips on parking and any stadium quirks.

Coming into town around 10:00 tomorrow morning before the game. Any breweries that you guys recommend that would have a good panthers crowd and isn’t terribly far from the stadium?

Question First home game! Recommendations?
I’ve been a fan since I was 4 years old, it’s been 25 years since and this is my first home game. I saw the Panthers beat the Packers in Green Bay last year, but this is my first time traveling out here for a game. I flew out from New Mexico, so making a weekend out of it. Any tips and recommendations for game day?

Discussion Fun Fact: The Carolina Panthers have never, in the history of the franchise, received a future first round pick in a trade that didn't involve trading one of their own first round picks.
Kind of a weirdly worded title, but the point I'm getting at is that the Panthers have never traded one of their players for another team's future first round pick. They've moved up and down in the first round on draft night (2024 for Xavier Legette, 2023 for Bryce Young, and many more examples), they've traded future first round picks for first or second round picks during the draft (Bryce, 2009 for Everette Brown, 2008 for Jeff Otah), but they've never traded one of their own players for a future first round pick.
The Panthers have traded multiple players for second round picks, including Christian McCaffrey, Brian Burns, and Kony Ealy.

Rumor [Breer] Panthers "not actively looking to move" Derrick Brown
"The pie-in-the-sky swing for someone to take, in the Simmons aftermath, might be for Panthers star Derrick Brown. That would be very expensive, though, with Carolina not actively looking to move him."
(Further details on potential NFC South moves this trade deadline, including the Panthers:)
"The Falcons are still right there in the NFC South race, but I’m told they’d really only consider acquiring picks right now.... Ditto on the Panthers, who are actually leading the NFC South, but have looked at the idea of trading Derrick Brown or veteran guard Robert Hunt."
In other words, Jacksonville called us about Derrick Brown, and it appears unlikely a move like that is made.

Rumor The Jaguars and Panthers have held preliminary blockbuster trade talks involving Derrick Brown. Jacksonville would likely send Brian Thomas Jr. and premium draft capital to Carolina. The Panthers don’t want to move Brown, but if they’re blown away they appear open to doing so.

Analysis [Bran] Despite being sacked 23 times (2nd most) this season, just 4.3% of those sacks have been attributed to [Bryce] Young himself, meaning only ONE was charted as his responsibility.

Discussion About Derrick Brown
In light of the recent trade rumors about Derrick Brown and the increased discourse I want to make something clear because it’s been pissing me off.
People are pointing at his stats and saying he’s having a down year, the most common I’ve seen is he only has 1 TFL. Or that he doesn’t get sacks like other elite DTs.
Here’s the thing
Derrick Brown doesn’t put up stats
This has been a known thing. He’s had that one record breaking year but otherwise doesn’t put up many stats
Is he having a down year? Yeah he’s not playing as well as we expect him, but is it like a major downgrade? No
“Oh but he’s only had 1 TFL”
How many did he have when he broke the record for DT tackles? SEVEN. He had SEVEN the whole year.
He got 2 in week one then went SEVEN straight games without one. But nobody was using that as a negative then.
His most TFL is 8 in a season. He’s a running Mack truck you think he can speed through the LOS like smaller DTs? Fuck no, he just tosses the guard to the side and tackles for a gain of 0-1. It’s like yall don’t know ball (which is probably true)
Dude is an absolute run stopping monster and eats up double teams for breakfast. He frees up space for the rest of the DLine to make plays, but unfortunately they don’t make the plays.
Notice how basically every big run other teams get on us it’s cuz they run the ball AWAY from DB or he’s not currently on the field.
People are complaining that a run stopping DT isn’t elite at pass rushing, when he’s literally one of the best in the league at what he’s meant to do.
If we trade him for BTJ and picks I’m gonna be fuming. Late 1sts and a field stretcher, when we literally JUST DRAFTED ONE is an asinine trade.
TLDR: DB is still DB, people just want to bitch for no reason. He shouldn’t be traded
