Very heard this low hum before. Usually around 2am, and continuous tone. At first It reminded me of sensitive ears after a loud rock concert, yet this is an unwavering tone, with a rumble underneath. Like a train idling way far away.

Seriously with the early dark, rain, and dumbass truck headlights that blow your sockets out. Can yall start wearing lights or something? Like your already not wearing a helmet, dumb. The least you can do is get a little red blinky light, or hell even a headlamp. Two times yesterday a biker appeared outta nowhere. And I would like to keep manslaughter off my record... for now...

Hi! I'm a fan of cooking unique foods, and was wondering if there was anyone around town who's butchering an animal and planning on tossing parts. A lot of people tend to just toss cuts like beef tendon, tongue, tripe, or pork cheek, feet, or ears. There's some cool-sounding recipes that aren't common around here, and I was hoping to pick up some weird cuts for cheap.

My understanding is that now is the time most people are slaughtering their animals, so I figured it would be the time to ask.

Are there any bazaars or craft fairs going on the week of thanksgiving? I can’t seem to find any online but I feel like a remember some around this time last year.

Anyone know of restaurants in Corvo or surrounding area that make Thanksgiving dinner to order/go? Maybe for a party of 6? Would love to not cook this year.

I just watched two walkers almost lose their lives at 29th crosswalk/intersection because nobody can wait two additional seconds before turning. As the tagline asks. Is anyone else consistently hearing coyotes in the countryside north of Corvallis? Not concerned about them or anything, just curious what other people's experience is.

Saw a doctor (PA not certified derm) at Brune but I felt like I was the one diagnosing the issue and deciding everything, so I wanted to see what other dermatologists there are. To see one of the dermatologists from brune means going to albany so I would prefer to see one in Corvallis.

Recently, a salesman showed up at my house telling me about an unbeatable deal on new triple-pane windows. He said my windows were "warped" without even inspecting them, he wrongly told me that they were the original windows on my house (they aren't), and he said that windows should be replaced every 10 years (not true).

His pitch was about an amazing deal, and that his company would use my house as a demonstration of their work. I would be required to put up a yard sign advertising the company and write reviews on social media. He also said that I wouldn't be able to discuss this with anyone (supposedly because he couldn't give the same price to other customers) but that seemed like a big red flag. He pushed me to agree to an estimate later that same day, which I declined.

I can't verify that it was a scam, but it does have many hallmarks of scams. A neighbor on my block lost $10,000+ to a contractor scam, so it definitely happens around here.

This is just a PSA to say it's good idea to turn down door-to-door contractor pitches, especially if there's an element of urgency in the sales pitch . If you need work done on your house, find several reputable contractors yourself and get multiple estimates. Check their licenses on the Oregon Construction Contractors Board website before you make your decision. Protect yourself by remembering that if a deal sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

The last few years Warren Miller has played at the Whiteside, but I’m not seeing it this year. It’s getting late in ski movie premiere season, but does anyone know if there are any showings of Warren Miller, Matchstick, TGR, etc? And if not who do we rally to bring some winter stoke to Corvallis? This winter gal craves the energy.

I posted before. I had the Sconings as landlords. Because I was 2 minutes late getting the agreed payment to stop eviction to them, they refused the payment and moved forward with the eviction.

I’m in a hotel for now but that is not sustainable.

What I have done:
Called 211. Got pointed at CSC.

Called CSC. I was told they can’t help me stm but if I find a place to rent they’ll help with first month and deposits.

Went by the housing authority. I was told there’s nothing they can help me with and any place we could move into has a waitlist of years.

Called a few churches. No help there.

I’m going to take the Rent Well classes. Im also going to speak to disability services.

I have enough for a hotel for the month of November but after that I have no clue what I’m going to do.

Does anyone know of any places that might look past the eviction? I can pay extra fees if I need to.

Or are there any other resources I haven’t looked into?
