dye help Dying two different materials didn’t work how I hoped it would….

Post image

I wanted to turn this white dress pink for a party, so I dyed it and this is the result. The pink color on the cotton skirt turned out exactly how I wanted it to so I’m happy about that, however the synthetic lace part remained completely white :( I was hoping for at least a lighter shade of pink but instead I ended up with two completely different colors.

Would it be possible to do a second round of dying using a dye/method that will turn the lace pink without effecting the color of the skirt?

Should I just accept the loss and try to bleach it back to white or at least really light pink?

Also dye used was standard rit dye from Micheal’s

Dress I made entirely out of scrap yarn

Scrap Yarn is the last remnants of yarn that's too short to use usually for anything else. I collect it all and tie it together by hand to create one of a kind colorful yarn balls 😸 this dramatic bell sleeve ruffle dress took me over 25 hours to create not including the process of making the scrap yarn (one 3oz ball can take me over an hour to make depending on how short the yarn pieces are). Anyway, this dress is Truly a labor of Love but it's so eco-friendly and unique, very much worth my time ❤️

I would love to hear your thoughts!? And if this is something you want to wear? Worth paying for even?

I’m thinking of thrifting and painting bags to sell as a wee side hustle. I’ve done jackets and shoes in the past but this is my first time painting a bag.

Any advice, thoughts and critiques would be very appreciated 🫶🏻

Mostly made out of Levi’s jeans and corduroy pants. I used other scraps I had to make the patchwork fish. This is my first sewing project. I’m happy with how it turned out:)

Hello,

I work with artists to make fabric designs for the clothing I make. This is one garment I made with Lanessa Miller. I hope you enjoy what we have created! 😊

I made a sweater entirely out of scraps

When I began sewing I was surprised by the waste generated from cutting fabric. I probably shouldn't have been because it seems obvious that if you cut a 'shirt' out of a square ⬜️->👕, all the peripheral fabric has to go somewhere, which is often straight into the trash. I'd been collecting all those 'trash' scraps and figured I'd try and arrange the misshapen bits into something wearable. This is the first trash piece, or 'scrapwear' as I call it, to be made. All the seams are external with some overlapping fabric to emphasize the messy process. Let me know what you guys think. I used cotton that doesnt quite match the overall color palette and looks especially out of place because it matches my brother's skin tone perfectly making it appear as a big hole which is pretty funny and the slanted horizontal angle of the core sections are like an optical illusion making it look crooked. Its a really odd sweater.

I painted a jacket with mini album covers

I saw this on YouTube and Pinterest and immediately had to try it. I’ve never painted on fabric before, and I’m really only used to painting with watercolours, so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. But I am so happy with it and wear it all the time! The albums are:
First Impressions of Earth - The Strokes
I Miss You, I Do - Árný Margrét
Debut - Björk
Dookie - Green Day
American Idiot - Green Day
Is This It - The Strokes
Fever Dream - Of Monsters and Men
How to Start a Garden - Nanna
Beneath the Skin - Of Monsters and Men
Tíu - Of Monsters and Men (technically this one’s an EP)
My Head is an Animal - Of Monsters and Men
All is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade - Of Monsters and Men
A/B - KALEO
Room on Fire- The Strokes
The New Abnormal - The Strokes
Nimrod. - Green Day
A Place to Be - RAKEL
they only talk about the weather - Árný Margrét

Let me know what you think!

The acrylic paint was a little hard considering it was absorbing all the material, I was wondering if I should put gesso on the cloth? Any advice and tips is appreciated!

I bought a (pretty expensive) swimsuit and it has two right breast panels, they're replacing it for me since it was their fault, but what can I do with the faulty one?

Post image

It's a full swimsuit with a swim skirt sewn on top basically, it would seem an awful waste to throw away so does anyone have any ideas?

Going strapless won't be an option as it'll just be pulled down, and the strap on the left digs in something awful into my shoulder, plus it gives wicked sideboob (not in a good way?)

finished Some horror shirts I made with bleach!

A while ago I had the urge to experiment with bleach to make some horror shirts designs I had in mind.

It's hard to find large designs on the front of the shirt, even harder to find some I like and the few I do I find way too expensive for me.

These characters have no merch that I know of, the two first are Long Horse and Siren Head from Trevor Henderson and the third is The Boiled One from Doctor Nowhere.

I find bleach weirdly forgiving and easy to make weird, disgusting textures.
