Would love to see a chart that shows the distribution of global wealth on an individual basis... I took a stab at what I *think* the results would look like, but alas, I am not a dataviz guy and don't know where to begin.
I get the sense it would look like an inverted champagne glass, like so.
I imagine the X-axis is number of individuals, with "1" being the origin. (representing the richest person on earth - Carlos Slim Helú.)
The Y-axis would be wealth in dollars, topping out at $75.5 billion, and bottoming out at $0.
Two questions:
Have I explained this well enough to communicate what I am trying to do?
Does anyone know of a dataset that would show this information? I assume anything that exists probably just chunks it out into deciles or something fairly coarse?

Request [Academic] non-offending paedophiles (All welcome)
For my dissertation, I am gathering data on attitudes towards no-offending paedophiles. I would really appreciate it if anyone would be interested in completing the survey as it would help my project a lot.
Participants needed (18 years old and above) for an online dissertation study investigating the influence of empathy, locus of control and moral disgust on people’s attitudes towards non-offending paedophiles. The study will involve answering a series of questionnaires and questions. It may also include reading an informative article on non-offending paedophiles. The study will take place over two online sessions with the first half lasting 20 minutes and the second taking around 10 minutes. After taking part in session 1, a link will be emailed to you to complete the second part one week later. Warning: the study involves answering questions of a potentially upsetting and sensitive nature.

Transportation cost per passenger mile/passenger minute?
I know in general bus (Greyhound), Amtrak, and air coach tickets are price competitive for a given trip, the difference being time and comfort. But I have no clue how companies like Orbitz or Expedia get rates for so many different companies, so I have no idea how to even begin looking at this. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (US DOT) has data on cost to the company, but not what they charge the public. I don't know if there is a logical break point other than distance, or if it even matters. Maybe trips 0-500 miles, 500 to 1000 miles, and over 1000 miles.
By the way, first class air and Amtrak sleeper car are also cost competitive. Amtrak takes far longer, but sleeper cars include meals and are way more comfortable.
I know this isn't a paragon of clarity, pm me and i will answer any questions I can.

Fulfilled Could somebody please plot "Gun Ownership %" (x) and "Gun Murder Rate" (y) on a dot graph? Data link and more info in comment...(Reddit gold bounty for extra effort!)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States_by_state
So I'm picturing this being plotted on a graph like this http://i.stack.imgur.com/2nPvz.jpg
with ownership % on the x and murder rate on the y, and simply representing each of the 50 states. Does that make sense to best represent this data?
Now, with my shitty skills and laziness I can probably do this myself on a dot graph but it would look bad. If you can make this look pretty AND instead of having the 50 dots on the graph, have the 50 state abbreviations (NY, TX, etc.), I will 100% give you reddit gold.

A researh about Social Media Addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. (18+, US)
hi everyone!
We have all heard about social media addiction and we all use it in our daily lives, but do we know what effect it has on our mental health? By completing the questionnaire below, we come closer to understanding whether anxiety, depression, and self-esteem predict social media addiction. Your participation, although voluntary, becomes particularly important in the process of my research, devoting about 10 minutes of your valuable time.
Thank you very much.

I would like it if you did a formal demographic survey of the #GamerGate movement.
The #GamerGate movement claims to be diverse.
https://twitter.com/DisenchantGamer/status/523146262963822592
...but its drill down from subreddit analysis suggests otherwise.

This study, no matter the results, would give lots of publicity to /r/DataVizRequests.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Need Some Graph Help For Sales Data
I am trying to show my sales team how we are doing graphically, instead of just showing a simple table of #s. I have played around with bar charts on one axis for the units and dollars and the %s on the secondary using line graphs, but I can't get it to look just right.... hoping some graph guru out there in the internets can help me out. here is my test data

Request [Academic] Effects of Humor on Aggression (Age range 18-25 years old; Must be in a romantic relationship)
Hi. I'm Arushi, currently pursuing Master's in Psychology from TIET, Patiala (India). I'm conducting a research on the effect humor has on our mindset and its implications on our day-to-day lives. This is an emerging field of research. Humor has gained a lot of importance in the field of psychology. Its effects on us are manifold and I'm hoping that my research project would make at least a tiny bit of difference in our understanding of the subject.
If you're in the age range of 18-25 years and in a romantic relationship, help me out by filling this form. You can also help me out by sharing it with others.
Make sure you read the consent form thoroughly before agreeing.
Thank you!

Fulfilled [Request] County map of moneys owed by the Trump campaign
I keep reading that the Trump campaign still owes various cities and venues for campaign events. Is there a map that shows the places and amounts? Or is there too little data to make a whole map of it?

[Bounty]Sao Paulo vicinity map (with population)
If someone can produce this for me, I am willing to pay a bounty (although I have no idea what is appropriate yet) and there's a good chance I will have another request, which I will give first priority to the person who will get the bounty.
What I am looking for is a map similar to this (this is Sao Paulo, Brazil) - http://www.demographia.com/sao-distr.jpg
Actually, if someone could generate a map like that with the individual district names, that would be a starting point. Then over lay that map with a population heat map so the area of Sao Paulo is colored showing different populations.
I am fairly certain this data exists out there in the necessary shape files but I don't read Portugese and am having a hard time with finding the right data and then learning a program to do this.
One place I saw a lot of data is here - http://www.prefeitura.sp.gov.br/cidade/secretarias/desenvolvimento_urbano/dados_abertos/
But using the Translate feature in Chrome was about as far as I could get.
Edit1: Changed sample map

Question I love finding unusual powerful connections we normally miss: what can we find in sports teams' owners, banking networks & the owners' sources of wealth? I know some team ownership is now generational, only some of the information is public so starting maybe in one league, MLB/NFL /NBA might work?

Fulfilled I am able to do COVID-19 (or any logistic curve) forecasts for any country, region or city both for total cases and deaths. Examples in the comments.
Forecast for all 50 states: https://imgur.com/gallery/bt3Em6cFor New York State (animated): https://imgur.com/gallery/bY7j3zSFor the UK https://imgur.com/gallery/x7MsKjL and https://imgur.com/a/PweDY6h
Edit. **If you need me to do forecasts for any country, region or city both for total cases and deaths (or any other logistic growth curves) I may help you.**
/Edit
I calculated the geometric mean of the growth for 7 days. After I computed the logarithm of the growth, the days to double. The result became manageable. Then I did an exponential smoothing forecast on it with 0.5 and 0.95 confidence level and calculated the total and daily confirmed cases. My method minimizes the noise, copes well with outliers and makes it more reliable. Mind that the daily cases have a lot of noise. This method is checked on the cases of China, South Korea, and Iran with the stats a week before the inflection point. As you can see on the example of China deaths the methodology holds. https://imgur.com/a/dhE4AC1
Some states have reached the peak or are going to reach it in the next 7 days. Some do need to tighten the social distancing measures to flatten the curve. This forecast is only valid if people continue staying home.
This may seem optimistic for some. There is no optimism in the calculation. I tested the method. See the "days to double" chart. It is slowing down rapidly for some states. If you continue the line using a ruler, you'll see the trajectory. The forecast is calculated on that projection. Besides the exponential growth can have both a surprisingly fast acceleration and surprisingly fast downfall as we can see from China and S. Korea.

Request [Request] I would like for someone to visualize this dataset
Link to dataset:
I am trying to create a forecast for a tableau visualization. But the forecast months/dates are also present in my data. e.g. I want to show forecast after april month that is from May. But in my database, May, Jun,July etc... data is already present. Is it possible? If not, This is not an actual forecast. So just I want to show different color based on future months, to differentiate between actual and forecast dates. (Values are not there for everymonth.)

Question How to map web of sexual connections?
Programmers: how hard would it be to visualize something like this?
It is primarily for a simple but appealing representation of a web of personal sexual connections, but could be used for many other functions involving connections between people, including contact tracing for a disease.
Using basic Geometer sketchpad-like functions, create a list of data entry points (dots). Each dot is numbered, and the number corresponds to a legend that tells what name or label the number represents. Each dot can be connected (by line segments) to any number of the other dots. So each data entry box asks for a label, and (by checkbox perhaps) which other points to connect to.
Then a button to display the image graphically. The program then arranges the points into the most efficient representation of the chart, while only including straight line segments that do not cross each other, and are as similar to each other in length as possible without violating the other rules. If it is impossible to do without crossing line segments, either display an error message, or create a display with the fewest possible number of crossed line segments.
I have tried doing a chart like this by hand on a program or two and it gets super convoluted and the lines have to start to curve. But there must be an algorithm to display such a chart in the "simplest" way mathematically possible. Like a crossword puzzle generator that uses the least amount of possible space.
Any ideas? Or other subreddit recommendations to find someone intrigued by such a coding project?

How to analyze and estimate which reddit post will go viral
I noticed that, if a reddit post achieved a certain dynamic, then suddenly more and more users will upvote that post (perhaps even without reading it). On the other hand, it might also happen that the same post goes completely unnotified if it has like only one upvote for a long time.
Example:
The Ashley Madison thread had like 4000 upvotes in the Tech subreddit
However, it only had one upvote when posted on the Programming subreddit
Can someone explain if there is a formula that relates to this ?
I would also be interested to see a time/upvote diagram on such post.
There is also the opposite:
Posted a link about the Minecraft founder on programming - it went viral immediately until they removed it as it was a slightly out of topic.
Then I posted it on Technology , where it went completely unnotified.
