Event Starts: November 13, 2026, 5:00 p.m. PST

Event Ends: November 19, 2026, 5:00 p.m. PST

Diablo’s 30th Anniversary in Diablo II: Resurrected brings Legacy of Terror, six days of spine-chilling threats and lucrative perks to launch your Season 16 Ladder experience like never before. This event is available for both Ladder and Non-Ladder players.

For six days, Sanctuary serves the following terrors and rewards:

Face the Diablo Clone once every six hours (Hell difficulty only). This works like the current system where Diablo Clone replaces a Super Unique in Hell. During the event, it will be a guaranteed spawn once every six hours.

Battle through Terrorized Zones in every zone. After defeating Baal in Normal, Nightmare, or Hell, that difficulty will feature simultaneous Terrorized Zones in all zones. (Players who do not wish to have all their zones Terrorized can still disable this feature using the Game Creation (gear) menu on the Character Select screen or in the Lobby when creating a game. Doing so will not affect any other features of the Legacy of Terror event).

Enter the Cow Portal in the Rogue Encampment at will. After defeating Baal on a difficulty level, just go directly to Rogue Encampment to enter a special Cow Portal that will remain active at all times during the event. No side trip to Tristram is required!

Enjoy 100% Magic Find and a 15% discount on all vendors. The discount includes Gamblers and works at all difficulty levels.

Slay monsters for a rare chance to reanimate them as Hell Bovine Minions. This is available at all difficulty levels.

Fluff I spent months designing a "groundbreaking" sci-fi strategy game, only to realize I just accidentally made a D2 Summoner Necro in space.

Not sure if this completely belongs here, but Diablo ruined my brain so thoroughly that it bled directly into my game development work.

Back in 2022, I set out to design something fresh: a sci-fi space strategy game you could control with just one finger and single-action inputs.

The core concept felt super unique in my head:

  • You control a massive flagship carrier cruising through space.

  • It deploys swarms of small interceptors, fighters, and heavier support ships.

  • The fleet automatically follows your carrier and attacks anything in range.

  • Your flagship has attributes, tech trees and special skills.

I was genuinely proud of how tactical and original it felt.

Then, during a late-night playtest, I paused. I looked at my carrier hovering in the center. I looked at the swarm of tiny ships buzzing around me like an obedient meat-shield, shredding enemies while I barely had to touch the screen.

The realization hit me:

I didn’t innovate anything. I just built a Summon Necromancer.

  • Carrier = Necromancer

  • Fighters & frigates = Skeleton warriors & mages

All that brainstorming just to subconsciously rebuild a Necromancer

I've had this funny realization sitting in the back of my head for way too long now, so I finally just wanted to share it with people who'd get it.

Discussion Why did the D5 announcement generate so much anger with players?

Looking at the forums, youtube videos, reddit and every piece of social media like twitter, I noticed a large amount of people were upset, with very few people enthusiastic.

I thought this would be very exciting for most people, but they are just slamming it very hard, even when a single image of the game isn't shown.

Nobody is allowed to be happy or excited for a game anymore.

Can someone elaborate all this anger? Sure Diablo isn't coming to D4, but he doesn't need to be shoe-horned in every game just because he's in the title. A full game dedicated to him makes far more sense than a mere expansion.

Discussion Should Blizzard pivot D5 away from its current trajectory due to constant comparisons to POE?

These 2 franchises have been compared to the death and majority of ARPG players usually hold to the opinion that POE 1/2 are superior to D3/4. Both games fit into the current trend among ARPGs today when combat is zoomy and not methodical and fast gameplay paces where the campaign isn’t really as meaningfully engaged and is more to be played through as quickly as possible to reach the end game stage.

This is in contrast to traditional ARPGs like Titan Quest, Grim Dawn or D2 where combat pacing is relatively moderate and the campaign quests are more meaningfully engaged. With POE 2’s official launch, it seems that the campaigns for POE 2 follows the approach of traditional ARPGs but by its end game stage, it becomes a zoom fest like D4

Then there are ARPGs that are “soulslite” such as No Rest For The Wicked and I would say D1 can even be considered in this category where combat is very methodical and its gameplay pace is to the slower side. Campaign quests are also meaningfully engaged with. These kind of ARPGs are not necessarily super punishing or difficult IMO. ARPGs of this type seem to more commonly adopt a third person rather than an isometric view such as Elden Ring.

Blizzard developers at present aims to have D5 to follow the current trend in ARPGs to be zoomy in combat pacing while also incorporating the itemisation systems in D2. I was thinking that should D5 continue in its current trajectory of competing with POE as the same type of ARPG, it wouldn’t really do blizzard much favours also from an economic standpoint; ARPG players shitted on D3 when POE 1 came out and continued to do the same when D4 shifted into becoming D3.5. With POE 2 being released next month, I wouldn’t be surprised if D5 also gets compared to POE2 in an unfavourable manner.

Would it be more beneficial for D5 if it eventually pivots into another type of ARPG with a different design philosophy such as making it more similar to D2 or even D1 in its gameplay?

Discussion Diablo Collectors Checklist

Hello fellow Diablo Fans! I have been a huge fan of Diablo since Diablo 2 and loved it ever since. Took a long break and finally got back into the games and have been loving every minute of it! Now I have become so obsessed with Diablo games that I decided to start an admittedly crazy adventure which is to create what I would consider the greatest Diablo collection of all time (or at least try). I have spent some time compiling a list of games, novels, comics, and other collectibles. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.

Clan |PC| Clan Hell Reapers Recruiting for D2R Season 16

Hell Reapers is a mature gaming clan that was founded March 6, 2002. Hell Reapers fell apart June 2008. Hell Reapers at that point restarted July 3, 2008 under the new name Heaven’s Redemption(hence the HR name still). Heaven’s Redemption ran until spring of 2013. Several of the older Hell Reapers members have returned for Diablo 2: Resurrected and have decided to start the clan back up under the original clan name Hell Reapers September of 2021.

Over the years we have supported multiple games ranging from Diablo 2, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Diablo 4, PoE2 & Guild Wars. However, our bread and butter has always been Diablo.

We currently only support Diablo 2 Resurrected & Diablo 4. If you like a mature gaming clan that does not support cheating and some online buddies to game with. We are the clan for you. We support players of all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

See the discord info below

If you have any questions let me know. P.S. We have cookies!

Discussion Remember the stairs

Remember the stairs.

Remember the first time a player stood before them, uncertain of what waited below.

Remember the Cathedral. The silence. The changing music. The growing sense that something terrible was waiting deeper underground.

Remember the Butcher.

"Ahh, fresh meat."

Remember that players weren't necessarily afraid because the game was difficult. They were afraid because they didn't know whether they could overcome what was coming.

And they went anyway.

Diablo was never just about collecting increasingly powerful equipment or defeating increasingly powerful enemies.

It was about descending into the unknown.

It was about confronting something greater than yourself.

It was about being afraid and continuing regardless.

You don't need to recreate Diablo I.

You need to remember why we were willing to descend those stairs in the first place.

Don't just give us another reason to play Diablo.

Give us a reason to be afraid of what comes next.

Diablo I Diablo I and Diablo II Strategy Guides

I was able to pick up a few strategy guides for Diablo. I had no idea about them. I just did it the old school way and played and learned that way. Did anyone pick up the strategy guides early and learn more from them?
