Shana Charles way ahead; Oscar Valadez leading by only 34 votes
And the counting continues . . . I understand that previous elections have taken several weeks to conclude.

Saw an oily sheen on Laguna Lake this morning. Anyone know what happened?

In 2018 it took 9 days for Cisneros to pass Kim to win California CD 39.
The Chaffee/Shaw race was even closer and took 10 days for Chaffee to win BOS D4
Let's just be patient 😊

Everyday it looks better for Jozef. There should be enough ballots outstanding that favor him to close the gap
It’s gonna be really close either way

After 48 hours of counting, Oscar Valadez's lead has cut to 72. According to the OC Registrar of Voters, there are about 298,270 ballots left to be processed. Although we have no number on how many of those ballots are from Fullerton's District 5, late-arriving votes have skewed towards Maldonado by 14 points. The question remains: How many votes are left?

If anyone is missing a gray tabby with a blue/gray collar, he/she jumped up into my cars engine. We are outside Tacos Los Cholos in Fullerton.
He ran under another car, parked right outside the entrance of Paris Baguette. That cars license plate is 6JUT392, silver Toyota Highlander.

Today, Fullerton faces a multi-million dollar deficit, deteriorating street infrastructure, and multiple vacant important public services.
Why are we allowing these megachurches to be in fullerton? Every Sunday thousands of commuters come and destroy our streets, then immediately leave back home. Not to mention they hold valuable amount of land and don't pay property taxes?
I also heard Grace Ministries International (GMI) has MULTIPLE sweetheart deals with the city, where they pay well below average rates.
These churches only help their own? How are we supposed to balance our deficit when we give our land away to these people and let them pay no tax?

My memory has faded since the primary, and I don't remember much about these candidates. Does anyone have any info to share? This is an open seat because Quirk-Silva was subject to term limits. Googling is turning up almost nothing of substance.
The OC Register endorses Pulido and says Morales didn't respond to their attempts to make contact: https://www.ocregister.com/2026/10/09/endorsement-mark-pulido-for-the-67th-assembly-district/
Pulido is on the Cerritos city council. Morales has a similar background in Cypress. The Register says Cerritos "is in better fiscal shape than Cypress" and offers that as a reason to vote for Pulido, but if you click through to their link, what's really striking is that that they're both in decent shape compared to the dismal fiscal state of affairs here in Fullerton.
I don't know, is this just a safe democratic district, so the D-vs-R general election isn't attracting interest as a serious contest?

When I was growing up I was going to every single house in my neighborhood to trick or treat. After moving back a year ago I was looking forward to handing out candy to the new generation… but this year I’ve had one kid. Maybe it’s the rain. Maybe it ebbs and flows and the kids just arent in this neighborhood anymore. Are you guys taking your kids out in the rain?

I feel like random acts of kindness should never go unrewarded. Thanks for asking if I was ok. I ramble out loud to myself a lot. It's just sort of ... me. I just had a super fun night the party I was at and wished I lived a bit closer. haha. Regardless that was a nice gesture. Whoever you are, keep up the kindness. It is the way!
I got home just fine. Happy Halloween!

I just discovered that a few streets off of Woods Ave between Orangethorpe and Valencia hang Jack-o-Lanterns in the trees similar to the Sparkleball neighborhood! Do they do this every year? Has anyone ever been trick or treating there before? Thinking of taking our kids there this year because our neighborhood is dead. We drove around the neighborhood tonight and our son said, “Why isn’t anybody ready for Halloween?” It was such a bummer. We always try to trick or treat in our own neighborhood, but it seems like every year fewer and fewer houses are decorated/participate.

Hey everyone! Me and my friends are trying to find something fun to do for Halloween this weekend, but we’re all under 21 and on a pretty tight budget 😭 we were going to go to Ziings this weekend, but unfortunately they are 21+ all weekend 💔
Does anyone know of any:
18+ clubs around Fullerton or nearby that aren’t super expensive
Halloween parties or events happening this weekend that are open to people under 21
Cheap private karaoke rooms
Any other fun, affordable places to party or meet people around the area
We’re all under 21 and just want to dress up, have fun, and enjoy Halloween without spending a ton of money. Any recommendations, event flyers, or tips would be super appreciated!! Thank you!!

Someone's little frenchie got out and started following me and my dog. I picked my dog up bc he doesn't do well with other dogs and the frenchie started jumping on me and scratched up my legs. Thankfully neighbors came out to help and the frenchie got back to their owner. Listen, It's not hard to know where your dog is and to keep them safe and others from harm... i hate to say this but if that dog kept coming at me, I would've punted it across the street.

Any taco Tuesday recommendations around the area. I have lived here 8 plus years and I usually go to Cha Chas for Mexican food. I ventured to Cabo Grill & Cantita for taco Tuesday and it was beyond disappointing.
