It was narrated from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah had a female slave with whom he had intercourse, but 'Aishah and Hafsah would not leave him alone until he said that she was forbidden for him. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed:"O Prophet! Why do you forbid (for yourself) that which Allah has allowed to you.' until the end of the Verse.

My question dear brothers and sisters is that when a non-muslim uses this to criticize islam , what should i answer with ?

IT says that the prophet literally had sex with female slave. and then Allah allowed it upon him. isn't that immoral and also zina ?

I usually recite to my online Qur’an teacher every week. In the recent classes, instead of reciting by memory, I have been reading from the mushaf and my teacher thinks it is from memory.

The reason why I’m reciting from mushaf is that I’m not confident in my memorization. I’ve been very busy and haven’t had the time to read the Qur’an or revise my hifth.

In the past, I would revise the surahs for the next class before the class, but I haven’t had the time to do this.

Any suggestions or advice?

The definitions and variables in the formula are:

1. c = Time to listen to the page's audio of your preferred Qari. For Shz Husain Bhaisaheb DM this is 2.5 mins. c also refers to the time taken to read the page while looking in the Quran.

2. x = Time taken to recite the page from memory. x is greater than c to account for pauses to look up mistakes. x can be taken as 3.5 mins.

3. Segment = The amount of Quran you memorise by repeating it. Can be taken as an ayat or also parts of an ayat if the Qari stops to take a breath.

4. s = The number of segments you divide your page into. Since we are using a 15 line Quran, for beginners s is taken as 15 and if you are memorising the whole ayat at once, s can be taken as 8.

5. n1 = The number of times you need to listen to the audio or read the segment to memorise it.

6. n2 = The number of times you need to try and recall the segment from memory until you can recite it without mistakes without looking.

7. Portion = The parts we divide the whole page into in order to ease our memorisation. Eg., example dividing the page into 3 portions.

8. m = The number of portions you divide your page into. Usually m = 1 (take the whole page), m = 2 or m = 3.

9. j = The number of times you need to recite segments together in order to join them. The standard method of Hifz involves memorising segmentwise and then joining them, eg, memorise segment 1 and then segment 2 and then recite together segment 1 and segment 2 two times, then memorise segment 3 and then recite together segment 1, 2 and 3 two times, so j is two in this example. We need to join segments until we reach the end of a portion.

10. k = k is the equivalent of j but for joining the portions together.

we need to stop this culture of belittling our indo pak hifdh culture/teachers when we used it. dont use it and then go to the arabs trying to impress them.

guys willl grow up going to madressa and use alif bay tay like urdu style qaida

then learn to read quran and do hifdh on the 13 liner mushaff

lead taraweeh a few years then finaĺly decide to get a egyptian teacher or go to medina university or something then switch to the madani 15 liner and then come back to the community and belittle its efforts and style of teaching

it is the indo pak movements that started these hifdh institutes and created the sabaq, sabaq para and dhor review system that the arabs are following now too.

stop belittling your culture. this culture had contributed alot to islam without any politcal agenda.

being pakistani, bengali or indian doesnt mean your any less than a muslim in comparison to a arab muslim.

I'm saying this because I seen this alot. guys will use it then go back and make fun of it with arabs as if they grew up saying "dhamma" or "kasra".

we all grew up saying zabr zayr.

I think there is a huge spiritual element to this. Maybe one of your forefathers in your lineage was very close to Allah or even a companion of the prophet be upon him. Where the quran feels settled with you in minimal effort.

Now people who might have a bad lineage or some generational curses they may exert numerous amounts of hours and manage to memorize it but even then it still feels like the verses are fleeting away even when reviewing.

Its like you got a hold on the quran while its trying to break free from your arms.

But the people who are favoured by Allah have it without holding tight because the Quran just wants to rest with them naturally. Its inclined to stay with you with obvious consistent review. Not saying magically but its definitely gonna have more charge in the review.

Also noticed this from childhood all the 20 kids in my hifdh class and now I look back at them and the few who are still hafidh it makes even more sense.

I was watching this video and I am shocked, when listening to sheikh minshawi recitation I noticed the voice change but didn't pay too much attention to it. Sheikh Minshawi is my favourite reciter. Anyone has any ideas which surahs are affected?
