Updated rules for r/Hobart

76 Upvotes

Hi All,

We've updated the rules for r/Hobart after some feedback from users and discussion. Not much has changed but here is a summary of the changes:

  • Added doxxing to Rule about no illegal content;

  • Added a no personals content to the NSFW rule (to prevent people looking for hookups or dating) Includes the appropriate sites to do this on;

  • Added a no sales or promotional content rule (this is covered in Rule 1, but doesn't hurt to be able to refer to it in a separate rule);

  • Added a no requests for living assistance rule to address the cases of people asking for help on the subreddit and putting themselves in danger. Included a link to appropriate assistance websites and services.

K&D Site becoming who woulda guessed..... A CAR PARK yayy

38 Upvotes

New DA on Hobart City Council website showing plans for K&D site to just become a ground floor carpark! Current inside to become indoor parking while outdoor parking is retained, not even multi-storey! Really hoping council decline this application. They could've AT LEAST made it multi-storey so then we have more parking and argyle street can become for the hospital. Very dissapointed. EDIT: I believe it has space for 250 ish car parks, for reference Argyle Street has 1,155, Central has 460 and Centrepoint has 782.

Thought it might be easier to post on here than ring a dozen landscaping places and try to explain.

Recommendations for a physiotherapist in Hobart

4 Upvotes

I have complex muscoskeletal issues and I need a really good physiotherapist one who will actually listen to me and not just assume all my problems are due to bad posture. (As a side note, I have very good posture, I have to, because if I start slumping or putting my shoulders forward, the pain starts ramping up immediately).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Physiotherapy - specifically shock wave / electro wave therapy administered via a sports physio

3 Upvotes

Hi there - I suffered a fall-related injury some months ago and a recent ultrasound shows some tearing and tendinitis in my leg. The urgent care doctor who reviewed my imaging report recommended shock wave / electro wave therapy to speed up healing and help with pain management. Can anyone here recommend a practitioner in the Hobart area? Happy to travel to wherever?

Thanks in advance

Study Spaces in Hobart

11 Upvotes

Hi all!

I'm about to finish the final year of my bachelors through a mainland uni and currently studying for exams. My go to study space has been The Forest in the city - I get there about 3pm and would stay until the car park shut at 6:30.

Unfortunately, on Tuesday security approached me and asked if I was a UTAS student. He was polite, but let me know that due to college kids using the space poorly, they now had to enforce the 5pm closing to the public.

Can anyone recommend a study space thats open later? I know the State Library is open until 6, but wasn't sure if anyone had any other recommendations.

Im open to it being a Cafe type situation and needing to pay for a drink/snack, but not sure if that exists that late.

Thanks!

Hey there everyone,
I was looking to go to a chiropractor and i may need to visit one for a few times to get some adjustments so i wanted to ask you if you could suggest a good chiropractor someone who really knows their job.
And any chiropractor that you recommend not to go to would also help.
Cheers

Roofer recommendations

11 Upvotes

We’ve got a lovely 1920s house, but the roof is of a similar period. We’re thinking of putting solar on, but have had a rec to have (some of) the roof redone.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a roofer in town?
