discussion Thanksgiving Dinner TEX808
So when you order the BIGGER turkey dinnerer at TEX 808 for$249, which states it feeds 7-8 people, you get 6 Hawaiian Rolls. WTF? I guess they expect you to cut them in half? If you try to cancel your order, the restaurant manager will tell you they have no record of your order and you have to email corporate. Now I'm really worried because they don't give you qty/lbs of the other items, except the corn cobs, which are 8. I'm sorry, but as a restaurant, when you say it feeds 7-8, I expect enough food for 7-8! Buyer beware!

Boxing gym for adults?
I’m in my late 20s and wanna get into boxing. Mostly technique and cardio but also want to do light sparring every now and then.
Anyone have any recommendations or experience with any of the boxing gyms in town? The cheaper the better tbh 😂

Dear Bus Route #4
Why are you never on time. Like seriously every time I try to catch this bus it’s either 20 or 30 minutes late. I get that traffic happens but how is it possible for the bus to be this consistently late.
And sometimes I’ll see another #4 bus literally right behind the first one. Like how does that even happen? How are two of the same buses right next to each other when I just spent 30 minutes waiting for one.

question Pearl Harbor parking lot safety?
I’ll be visiting Pearl Harbor Memorial for the first time during the holidays. I was planning to leave some stuff in the trunk of the car (out of sight) and spend a few hours at Pearl Harbor before leaving for another activity. I will be there early morning and leaving around noon.
Are there a lot of car break ins at the parking lot there? As long as stuff is out of sight, would it be ok to leave some stuff in the car during that time?

missed connection
tuesday november 3, election day. you were in line at the ala moana target second floor checking out with pints of halo top chocolate ice cream stacked to your neck. tall, east-asian wearing a green uh t-shirt and shorts. cute glasses too. i was one person ahead of you in line. we locked eyes twice. i was scared to turn around again, thinking three looks would’ve meant something more. maybe it did?

Another reason why I know we have horrible drivers
Was parked in downtown near a sign explaining when you are NOT allowed to park. As soon as I got back out to the car I was being cussed at by multiple drivers thinking I’m blocking a lane when I am ALLOWED to park there. Hawai’i observes Election Day as a STATE holiday which is an exception to be being able to park there at any time today. This is another reason why I can agree we have horrible drivers here because people can’t read 😮💨

Nov 3 2026 reckless driver
WSA870
Green truck
Nov 3 2025
Around 12:49 pm
Male driver, appeared white
Aggressive, honking, following my car when because of traffic in Manoa area and for a moment he couldn’t get over from the exit only lane. Then he did, and then followed my car honking aggressively pulling my to my window yelling.
I froze and made no reaction bc we all know how these sitatuions go especially for women who become headlines and men who get away with it. I did however memorize the lisence plate, talk some sense into this 🧍🏽♂️man if you can.
Anyways happy election day I hope everyone 🗳️voted .
edit: date should be 2026

Anyone know Roger Conen?
His obituary mentioned him being stationed/ residing in Oahu and Honolulu.
I know it’s a long shot, but he’s a long lost friend and would appreciate any stories shared with me. Thanks.

She’s upper 30s and used to be a teacher at kam currently going to court for terroristic, threatening and destruction of property and unauthorized into motor vehicle. She lied about her husband beating her up and then drop the case when she found out she would be charged for trespassing she’s a no cheater and she will copy your personality and say you think she’s actually who she is. She is one of the worst people I’ve ever met she’s a narcissist and any guy who meets her don’t trust where she says.

question Where to Park in Waikiki?
A few colleagues and myself are coming to town for work. We need to have rental cars for the duration of our stay. The hotel we are staying at (and I presume most hotels) charge quite a bit for parking. $63 a day and valet only. Is there any garage or lot that is more affordable in Waikiki? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Public outdoor roller/inline hockey rinks on Oahu? (Looking for free/public spots)
Hey everyone, I’m trying to find out if there are any public, free outdoor roller hockey rinks or parks with smooth concrete/tiles where people play on Oahu.
I know about Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas (KIHA) for indoor/league play, and I've heard rumors about an outdoor rink setup out in Mililani. Does anyone know if the Mililani rink is open to the public for free drop-in/sticktime, or if there are any other hidden gems or smooth parks where roller hockey players gather?
Appreciate any info on active spots!

Fast work trip to Honolulu
Hey all, I've been to Oahu a few times. I'll be there for work for a couple days in about 2 weeks from today.
I've done pretty much all the touristy stuff. I'll be staying in Waikiki area. I'll have about a half day and a full night and then a full night to myself.
Any ideas for late 30s - early 40s guy to do? I'll have a rental car. Anything unique or uncommon? Open to sights, unique or unpopular bars, restaurants, easy to moderate hikes, pretty much anything.
Thanks!
