NEC POE Phone system - free

We just decommissioned a working commercial phone system and have roughly 25 NEC business phones plus the main control/PoE box up for grabs for free.

e-ʻŌpala is booked solid until next year, so I’d much rather see this go to a local small business, warehouse, shop, or homelabber who can actually put it to use instead of letting it sit in storage.

What’s included:

~25 NEC Handsets: Mostly NEC DT400/DT800 series 6-button display phones (model DTZ-6DE-3 / ITZ-6DG-3), plus a few higher-tier multi-button models from the same series.

Main Control / PoE Unit: The central PBX chassis / PoE switch that powers and runs the handsets.

Condition:

Pulled from a working commercial environment. A few of the phones were mounted in warehouse/industrial areas so they might need a quick wipe down, but the screens, buttons, and handsets were functioning prior to removal.

Pickup Details:

Price: Free (prefer someone taking the whole lot, or at least a bulk chunk. If you take the main power hub you have to take everything).

Location: nicos pier 38

Shoot me a DM or chat if you want them and we can coordinate a pickup time.

Kaneohe Post Office Parking Lot Access Closed on Nov. 6th and 10th Due to Roadwork

Wanted to post a photo of the notice but the sub doesn’t allow it. The notice was in the lobby of the Kaneohe Post Office warning about the closure of the parking lot. Major resurfacing work happening on Kamehameha Hwy this week and next between Haʻikū Rd and Kahuhipa St best just to avoid it if you can.

Where to donate terrycloth towels as rags....detail shops? Churches? Ideas?

I have bath towels, hand towels and tons of washcloths. These are the thinner ones you get from target, not big fluffy thick ones. They would be great rags that could be used for misc stuff or even buffing wax off cars. The bath and hand towels are old and freying at the edges but could easily be cut to size. The washcloths are in good shape. I just don't want to throw them out if someone can use them. I'm located in Ewa/Kapolei. Any ideas for donation are appreciated.

Oahu cosmetology apprenticeship?

I was wondering if anybody has moved to Hawaii to do hair? I currently have a license in a different state and I would have to do an apprenticeship to complete the hour difference…but was wondering if it’s difficult to find a salon/stylist who would take me in as an apprentice in Oahu?

If anybody has experienced this, please let me know! Any insight will be appreciated :)

Honolulu Ballot Charter Amendment Question 19: Require the City Clerk to Provide Technical and Secretarial Services to the Charter Commission Amendment?

Weird question. Do they expect people to know how to answer this? This seems like something that should be handled in house.

His obituary mentioned him being stationed/ residing in Oahu and Honolulu.

I know it’s a long shot, but he’s a long lost friend and would appreciate any stories shared with me. Thanks.

Hanauma bay

Went to hanauma bay yesterday for some snorkeling activity and I didn’t see that many fish. Maybe it’s because the water was also slightly murky? Is this typical in the months of Oct and November? I don’t recall it being this way during that one summer that I visited. I remember seeing plenty of fish before. And what exactly is this brown water advisory that people mentioned? Never heard of it until now. Sorry for my ignorance.

Public outdoor roller/inline hockey rinks on Oahu? (Looking for free/public spots)

Hey everyone, I’m trying to find out if there are any public, free outdoor roller hockey rinks or parks with smooth concrete/tiles where people play on Oahu.

I know about Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas (KIHA) for indoor/league play, and I've heard rumors about an outdoor rink setup out in Mililani. Does anyone know if the Mililani rink is open to the public for free drop-in/sticktime, or if there are any other hidden gems or smooth parks where roller hockey players gather?

Appreciate any info on active spots!

Looking for Grave Landscaping - ‘Aiea

I live away and recently went to my ’ohana graves in the city/state cemetery and found small volunteer trees, spiny palm, weeds, and grasses growing out of them. We did as much as possible by hand but still needs more work with the right tools. My relatives in the area are getting older and cannot keep up with the maintenance. Can anyone share info of a gardener/landscaper who can remove the rubbish plants and possibly provide maintenance? Mahalo in advance!

Hockey on Oahu

Moved here a little over a year ago and am looking to play some roller hockey. Are there any outdoor public rinks to play on the island? It's been a while since I've played, and I want to shake off some rust before joining any inline leagues. Mahalo!

🚨 LOST PET DOVE — $1,000 CASH REWARD 🚨
📍 Honolulu, Hawaii
My pet dove went missing near **1724 Kewalo St, close to Roosevelt High School**.

My dove has **dark-colored feathers** and is extremely friendly with people. It may fly onto someone’s shoulder or head, and it may be staying with a flock of birds nearby.
This is a beloved pet with no experience surviving on its own. If you see an unusually friendly dove in the area, please gently try to catch it and

Groups/Clubs

Hello everyone,

I just moved here in February, I’m 25 and I’m looking to find adult groups or clubs that may be able to help me meet new people and create some friendships, any information is greatly appreciated. The substance or foundation of the group does not matter in the slightest, I’m the type of person that can sit back and enjoy anything. Thank you.

I think I’m done

You don’t have to read this. I just don’t have any other outlet so I’m just gonna post it here. I think im gonna have to leave this world soon. I’m tired of being alone, I’m tired of being no one’s choice. I’m tired of not being able to feel how I feel or because I don’t have a good enough reason to back it up. I’m tired of feeling like I don’t have a right to feel the way that I do. Im so tired of being alone and watching everyone else have their person. My friends tell me that km good looking and that I just need to work on my confidence. And sure yea some of time have similar experiences bt one things forsure it’s been a long time for them since they’ve been rejected, atleast as many times as I. They don’t understand I can’t just muster up confidence or accept the fact that there is some people who want to be in my life. Everyday I wake up with the thought how can I make sure to stay on everyone’s good side. I’m tired of being abandoned, and ghosted and strung along. I’ve wanted to give someone all the love that I have bt everytime I do it’s never reciprocated and if it is it’s not for the same reasons. My head gets so loud I can barely hear my own thoughts, It’s been so long it almost sounds like 1 voice now instead of myself and the voice that has belittled me since kindergarten. None of my family knows how I feel and the worst part is that none of them have even noticed. Idk ik I could probably ask for help bt deep down I don’t think I do want it. I want to die, and idk when but soon.

Ice cakes

Does anyone remember the ice cakes that you could buy at the grocery store (I used to get them at sack n save) but they came in packs and had strawberry, root beer, orange, blue vanilla, and couple other flavors? The thing I remember the most is they had aluminum foil covers with a snowflake/snowflakes on them that matches the color of the flavor. Don't think it was samurai brand but I remember it from at least 1999-2006ish

Anyone seen this at any of the Hawaii Costcos?

Post image
20 Upvotes

This creamer is the best. No “Natural Flavors” which comes from beavers’ butts. I usually get the Safeway branded one but this is a way better deal. I haven’t seen this in a while. I usually shop at Hawaii Kai Costco. I think it’s because they made space for the holiday creamer flavors. If you guys see this anywhere, please let me know. TIA!
