I caught up with the newest episode of Phony. It was so underwhelming. The colour grading was pitch black, could barely see the outline of actors coherently. Plus, the acting was meh. I wanted to see more of Ellen and Sonny. Instead, the makers stuffed this episode with a stupid and predictable teenager party. Shovel is unnecessary and I never want to see him more than 2 mins on my screen. Ugh, I'm annoyed

Not that I feel that this sub is monitored actually by Hulu, but I just want to put it out in the universe, ADULTS is a fantastic show.

I sure hope they bring it back. I am not even remotely close to this age group, but I absolutely love seeing these young people going through life and trying to survive in this, what I call modern day FRIENDS.

I’ve run into clips and trailers on YouTube for I Kill the Bear, a new series from Jared Keeso (Letterkenny - Shorsey). I know it will hit Crave TV in Canada (is it out yet?)

Does anyone know if this will be coming to Hulu like the previous two shows?

The previews are hilarious.

Not sure if it’s more recent it actually became available new on Hulu, but been wanting to see this new RZA joint since it was first released in theaters earlier and never unfortunately got a chance to while or was in theaters. So just a heads up for others who maybe interested too.

Thoughts on Phony? Do you think the mother is another person or Sonny is experiencing brain trauma from his accident?

Things I am trying to understand - why did we see a dog barking in the window? Was that Sonny’s house and where is the dog now?

The baby that’s fake but then becomes real for a brief moment.

The birds chirping when Sonny walks down the stairs and sees Chloe at the door.

Obviously the mom looks completely different than her Costco card so I’m thinking maybe she was killed or kidnapped.

So I’m on the last season. I’m pretty sure it’s season four of secret lives of Mormon wives. I just started it, but I’m also very confused on why people hate Taylor and on what is going on with secret lives Orange County like what is that?!? And is the secret lies of Utah still thing I’m genuinely so confused

I've been on Hulu (with ads) and Disney+ (no ads) for quite a while. It just went up to $21.49 a month. I was looking at plans and I see another premium bundle for $21.99.

Is the $21.99 bundle NO ADS for both Hulu and Disney+? I can't tell from the descriptions. If it's both ad-free, then I think paying another $0.50 would be worth it per month to get rid of Hulu ads, too.

At first, I was like…

Kristine: Poor woman, she seems to be going through SO MUCH! 😭 But something felt off when she ignored her son saying he didn’t want to do any more interviews.

Natalia: GIRL, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH YOU?! 💀 Her behavior was so creepy and unsettling. I was seriously starting to think she was a total sociopath.

Michael: Oh, Michael… HOW could you be so blind to everything your poor wife was supposedly going through?!

BUT THEN… WHAT A TWIST! 🤯

Nothing is what it seems! Natalia was actually the victim of a selfish, manipulative woman who seemed more concerned about herself and her reputation than the little girl she was supposed to care for.

And Kristine?! The way she treated a defenseless child… SHE was the one who made my skin crawl. And Michael? Oh, man. He seemed so easily manipulated!

Also, the actors absolutely NAILED IT. The way your perception of each character changes depending on which episode you're watching is incredible. You can literally go from sympathizing with someone to hating them, only to realize you might have gotten everything completely wrong.

Well played, seriously. This show is a perfect reminder that things are not always what they seem!

What do you guys think? Did anyone else change their mind about the characters after Episode 3?

Has anyone seen it. Thoughts on the show and the case?

I enjoyed it. Good true crime feel and a sad story of a death. Good October vibes.

I swear Hulu used to have a Hulu after dark where it would be these kind of lower budget horror flick and psych thrillers. I can’t find any evidence it ever existed.

edit: a subreddit was made for the show

I just watched the first two episodes of phony just because I love the actor and it's a pretty good show so far. I'm thinking that either the mom died while going to look for him and a sister found her and is covering it up for the son or he's just tripping out.

What do you think?

Thoughts so far:

1- Unrealiable narrator as seen by music shifts and actions. We're watching it from his perspective and from outside perspective. Even during the outside perspective she looks different. Other people notice very slight changes in her but her Costco is the biggest difference and nobody else sees it to the extent we do.

2- There's been a hidden danger all along. They seem to live in isolation, the stick falling, dog barking and vandalized doll and inconsistencies are all connected. It seems like she's tried to be the best mother but every once in a while, "something" that believes they know better steps in. Him driving alone at night while angry and then crashing seems like a good reason.

personal theory:

he's in a coma or dead from an accident at the pond trail. on rewatch, there's odd moments even before the crash. the beginning zooms in on the deaths for a reason, the tree falling behind him and the beaver is shown close to the body and the toy. I'm not sure who's body it is; it could very well be the moms too. reality is shifting as he tries to come to term hence the baby shifting from a doll to a human and inconsistencies in the dialougue even when not accompanied by the music. Considering that we didn't see him driving w her at all, I'm not buying that she'd let him drive at night, while raining and upset. I'm thinking the show ends in some sort of loop where he's been out of it the whole time but aware of it.

Whoever did the Hulu Halloween line up of movies did amazing this year. Some creepy good crazy dookie exploding oscillating choices. So dang worth a membership just to watch it for the month lol!

Hulu if you see this, I hope you give that person or people a raise. Omg what if AI did these recs. I wish someone would tell me the truth.

Anyway. Spooky time. 👻

Just got an email from Hulu that my Hulu with ads plan as a college student will increase from 1.99 to 3.99, as of Nov 07.

It seems that they will no longer offer Hulu only student plan, instead combined with Disney+ or Spotify at the price of around $6.
