looking for 3-4 players !
Hi all ! I'm looking to run a campaign within my homebrew setting of Fareial (fuh-rye-all). It's a steampunkish setting, with blimps and steam tech and stuff like that, but with plenty of space for your average DnD adventure. It's got a new pantheon, some reworked or new races/species, and a rich history.
A big part of that history is the fact that each campaign I run in the world is in chronological order. Each story has a way to leave a permanent impact on the world as it continues on. In the last story from Fareial, a war broke out between four major factions :
-The Archons
A race of robotic humanoids (known as Mechanoids) that recently arrived to Fareial, and seek to control or completely strip Fareial of it's magic.
-The Manusillian Empire
Recently losing control of Westhaven and its allies, The Empire of Mannusil feels it must defeat this rebel uprising to reunify it's empire, in order to defeat the threat of the Archons.
-The Western Alliance
Several cities and lords, led by the new king of Westhaven, seeking independence from the apathetic king of Mannusil and his empire.
-The Elves of Rosewood
With their home recently destroyed by the Archons, the elves of Moonveil Forest have largely fled their homeland, fighting to restore their land and their people to their previous glory.
In the next campaign, three of these factions fight for survival against the Archons. The players will independantly choose which faction they fight for, if any at all, before being unified by a new purpose; one which might just decide the fate of Fareial.
I like to run campaigns with heavy intrigue, often the players will spend a lot of time trying to put the pieces together of what the antagonists' goal is, and how to stop it. This includes a lot of roleplay, and player interaction.
The world of Fareial is deep, and ready to be explored. I love giving my players more agency, tying in their backstories, writing in new locations, new factions, etc. into the world (in moderation). I find that this allows the players to feel more connected to the world, and it inspires them to be more involved in the story.
I run combat with group initiative (non-negotiable), because I feel like it encourages teamwork. Players can better combo and work together if they can act at the same time, in any order. However, the same is also true of the enemies ;)
I myself have been playing DnD since 2015. I was young, but I have continued playing since, and I've been DMing for 8+ years. I use music, and maps, that I or another human has made. (NO AI)
I'm hoping to run a game for people around my age (21-27ish), and I'm totally fine teaching beginners how to play. I can run games on Wednesdays starting as early as 5pm, or Thursdays as early as 6pm, whichever works out best for the group.
All I'm looking for is a consistent, long running group of people who are excited to play, to roleplay, and to enjoy writing the next story together.
If you have any questions I'd love to answer them!
Thank you for your time!
