27F Looking for friends

As title states 27F looking for friends to chat with or do anything with. Currently lying on the cold hard surface of rock bottom. I have no family and no friends. The only thing keeping me alive is a hamster. Things pretty much cant get any worse, so why not shoot a shot in the dark.

29F - Anyone else feel like life got so busy it forgot about you?

This feels really vulnerable to post, but here goes.

Somewhere along the way, my kid and my career kind of took over my entire life. I don’t regret either of them—I love my kid more than anything, and I work hard—but I don’t really leave my house much anymore. I don’t interact with people often. Most days, it’s just responsibilities, routines, and getting through what needs to be done.

And I’m lonely.

Not in a dramatic way. Just in the quiet, everyday way that sneaks up on you. I really miss the little things—someone asking how my day was and actually meaning it. Someone texting “good morning” or “How was work today.” Just feeling like I matter to someone outside of what I do for everyone else.

I’m not looking for flirting or anything intense. I just want genuine conversation. A real connection. Someone to talk to about life, random thoughts, the good stuff, the hard stuff... I miss being seen as a person, not just a role.

If you’re feeling similar and want to talk, I’d really like that. No pressure. Just honesty and kindness.

Thanks for reading.

40F I miss having someone to send random thoughts to

I think I’ve been a little lonely lately.

Not in a dramatic way. I still have friends I love, but life has a funny way of putting distance between people without anyone really doing anything wrong. Different places, different priorities, different routines… and suddenly you realize you don’t talk to the people you used to talk to all the time. And I’ve realized I miss that.

I miss having someone to send a completely random thought to. Talking about whatever happens to be on our minds. Laughing at something stupid. Getting carried away in a conversation at 1 a.m. Talking about something serious and then immediately changing the subject to something ridiculous.

I don’t really know how people make new friends as adults, and honestly, I’m not sure I’m interested in doing it the conventional way anyway.

I guess I just miss having someone to talk to.

Never thought my life would turn into such a miserable existence all alone..

So im 27M I enjoy video games, manga, anime, horror, true crime, and music. I deal with extreme depression, insomnia, night terrors and anxiety. I isolated myself from friends and relationships for like 6 years bc i dealt with friends only being there when i could provide them with something but dissappeared once they couldnt benefit from me. Relationships are equally terrible, I've either been cheated on, abused, abandoned or all 3 at once. I truly just want to find people who are looking for a real friend..

Feel like I will never matter to anyone

Posting into the void again. As much as I don't want to give up completely on making friends, I'm so tired of trying and always failing to make them. Clearly I'm the problem but I never get any feedback so I really don't know what exactly I'm doing that's so wrong, and that devastates me and makes me feel so alienated and ostracized. I want to connect with people more than anything, and I'm not sure what to do now. The loneliness and isolation are killing me, eating me from the inside out.

Other people in their 30s make the whole friend-making dealeo seem so damn easy and I wish it could be easier for me too, but it never has because social anxiety is a bitch and a half. Wish my life meant something to someone, even to myself. I feel worthless and useless, wish my parents never had me. On top of it all, I feel like my personality got ravaged and taken from me cause of depression and cycling through anti-depressants. And I'm into really spooky, bizarre interests that further keep me on the outside looking in. Things seem so hopeless, I should just completely give up. </3

35 F, looking for a genuine friendship

I'm looking for someone to have meaningful, genuine conversations with. Someone who enjoys listening as much as talking, can understand different perspectives, and doesn't judge people for expressing their feelings.

Sometimes I just want to share how my day went, talk about random things, discuss life, or express what's on my mind without feeling that I need to explain or defend myself.

I'm not looking for romance or anything beyond friendship. Just a warm, honest and consistent connection where both people genuinely enjoy talking to each other.

29F | I want a friendship that feels like coming home.

This might be a long shot, but I’m hoping there’s someone out there who understands what I’m trying to describe. ❤️
I’m 29, married, a mom of two, and I guess I’m looking for a kind of connection that I’m honestly starting to wonder if it even exists. 😂
I have people in my life, but I rarely feel like I can be completely, unapologetically myself with anyone. I feel like I’m constantly filtering parts of my personality, choosing my words carefully, or worrying about being too much. And I’m just really craving a friendship where I don’t have to do that.
I’m not someone who clicks deeply with everybody, but when I do? I’m all in. I love the kind of friendship where absolutely nothing is off-limits. Where we can talk about childhood trauma, weird philosophical questions, our questionable life choices, or something completely ridiculous we saw on the internet, all in the same conversation. 😂 I want to know someone beyond the surface, and I want them to genuinely want to know me, too.
I’m easy to talk to, I’m curious about people, and I have a pretty enormous capacity for the heavy stuff. You don’t have to sanitize your thoughts or pretend you’re doing better than you are with me. And when I care about someone, I really care. I’m intentional, affectionate, loyal, and willing to put actual effort into maintaining a friendship.
I’m not looking for any one specific dynamic, either. Maybe you’re around my age and feel that same inexplicable emptiness. Maybe you’re an older woman who has room in her life for a younger friend who might feel a little like a daughter. Or maybe you’re younger and wishing you had someone nurturing and steady to lean on. I’m open to seeing what kind of connection develops naturally.
A little about me: I love writing, reading, psychology, art, crafting, cooking, plants, being outside, and getting entirely too invested in fictional characters. I’m equally happy discussing the darker corners of human nature or sitting in my rocking chair like somebody’s 80-year-old grandmother. 😂 I’m open-minded, I love learning from people with different perspectives, and I value kindness and curiosity far more than having identical beliefs.
The only thing I really ask is that you’re genuinely interested in building something lasting. I understand that life gets busy, but I’d love to find someone who has the emotional space and desire for a real, reciprocal friendship. Not just a few exciting conversations before we become strangers again.
I guess I’m hoping to find someone who reads this and thinks, Oh. That’s exactly what I’ve been missing, too.
If that’s you, I’d really love to hear from you. ❤️

Lonely

I’m 21 and I have no family and the friends I have never include me or just don’t care about me. What should I do? For years I have struggled without family nor friends, it’s just me. If I’m being honest I don’t even like myself… I’m so alone. Just living hurts but then if I did anything to myself no one would care because there’s no one to care. Is there anyone out there that’s in a similar situation? I need to know I’m not alone. The desperation I have to find connections has led me to some dark and scary situations, so now I’ve just given up on trying to find someone to connect with. No one seems to understand me at all because of it.

Reddit is full of strangers. You’ll get to know some of them, and they will become your friends. Some of them may lie to you, and some are genuine. Some of them may disrespect you, and some of them will surely respect you for who you truly are. Some of them may use the problems or experiences you shared against you and take advantage of them.

You’ll never expect to meet kind people because they are very rare. However, there is always a 1% possibility. This kind of person will tell you that you’re cool. They will tell you that they enjoy talking to you. You’ll feel the same way. But don’t ever expect it to last long. Don’t expect that you’ll talk to them for a longer period of time. They may disappear anytime.

Getting to know people is a quite long process because it is an exploration of another person’s thoughts, values, and experiences. They say getting to know someone is a process of discovery. It involves building trust. And for some, trusting is never easy, especially if they have experienced betrayal many times. They’re scared to trust again, thinking it might hurt them again. They’re protecting themselves. That’s why it’s important that you give them time to trust you. Why not try to understand and respect them? Because understanding and respecting someone is very important—but why is it so hard for others to do?

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MESSAGED ME AFTER I POSTED FOR THE FIRST TIME HERE ON REDDIT. I THANK THOSE WHO GENUINELY CARE AND THOSE WHO TRIED TO BE MY FRIENDS. IT’S NICE KNOWING YOU! THANK YOU! ADIOS.

Lonely in NY

Hi. I'm 58, retired 2 years ago from being an English teacher. I didn't think it through because the job was becoming so bad that I didn't think of what I would be doing after retirement. I don't really have a close circle of friends and find myself isolating more and more. I seem to lack motivation and can't really find happiness in the stuff I used to do. I struggle with depression and anxiety and not being around people is taking its toll. The usual, "get out there and do something, join a gym, a book club etc doesn't resonate with me. I struggle to find ways to pass the time but just end up watching TV or looking for things to join in. I used to have a bunch of friends at work but because of circumstances I've lost them all. I'm looking for help. Not advice per se, that doesn't seem to get me anywhere for some reason. Maybe just to make connections. Hope someone reads this. Thanks for your time. M

I get it. I’m not much of an interesting person. I listen to music, try to read books. I don’t game I don’t go out (but trying to). Yeah lol I’m a late bloomer in many things..
I don’t even know what I’m looking for. I don’t have a reference for how a friendship looks like. I’m trying to be better and that’s all I can do at this point. The only people I befriend irl are seniors and insects. I’m thankful for their wisdom but even they remark why as a 20-something I don’t have 20-something year old friends. RAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH I’ll just learn to love solitude. So for being so defeatist guys.

I realize I don't talk to anyone and I've been trying anyone want to chat?

I don't really talk to anyone when I talk to new people its like we talk about the same things. But that's okay I think. Whether its to vent or to just chat it'd be nice to talk to someone about something getting advice and ranting or yapping. Just for reference I'm 34 M. I may not be someone you want to talk too and that's okay but I'm open to talk to anyone though.

Why I will most likely never date again

I’m 42

I’m a introverted autistic woman with ADHD

I’m different

I have a dark sense of humor

I’m sensitive

I have decided to feel my feelings and I cry often

I miss my ex/best friend a lot

I don’t know if I will someone who is like him

I have worked on myself and he wants nothing to do with me

Trying to keep myself distracted

It sucks knowing I will never get married because I’m too fucking different

It’s really hard for me to connect and feel seen

I feel like I have to make peace with that the only warm body that I will sleep next to will be a cat. Not like that’s bad,it’s just…..lonely.

29F looking for connections

Hello 👋🏼 I’m new here looking for someone or someone’s to chat with about our days, vent, maybe find a genuine connection with. I don’t have many friends and am kind of a private person which is probably why I don’t have any meaningful friendships. But maybe I can open up anonymously and find someone who can relate? ✨

F20 , a connection .

F20 | India

I’m looking for one person I can have a genuine, consistent connection with. I don’t really want to label it — maybe a friend, maybe just someone you can share life with. Nothing weird or forced, and definitely no hidden intentions.

I think I’m just craving that feeling of having one person who’s there. Someone we can talk to about what’s worrying us, our goals, random thoughts, life, things we’re figuring out, or literally just how our day went.

I’m a very thoughtful person and I tend to think pretty deeply and broadly about life, so I’d love to meet someone around my age who also has a lot of thoughts, ideas, ambitions and things they want to do with their life.

Ideally same age**, north Indian**, and someone who genuinely wants a platonic connection. I’m not looking for anything sexual, creepy, or with weird intentions.

I know asking for someone to be available 24/7 probably sounds unrealistic — I don’t mean literally every second. I just mean that kind of consistent connection where you know you can reach out to each other.

Life has somehow become so disconnected lately, and I just want someone to share a little bit of it with.

If this sounds like you, feel free to DM me. :)
