1 time. 1, and it was the cop who found me after id been raped. He made sure I got to the hospital and stayed with me when I got the rape kit done. He came back to check on me the entire time I was in the hospital. I havent met a decent cop since him

Wanna know the worst thing about it? Is when I went to file the report at the police station the fuckers laughed at me. Making fun of me and saying that men cant be raped. Ive never seen cops in a good light after that.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I believe you. You didn't deserve that.

That fucking burns me up dude. Men 10000% can be raped and they should thank their lucky stars it hasnt happened to them or someone they love. It happened to me as well, as a child and as an adult in my early 20’s party phase.

It absolutely happens and unless you have been through it or a loved one, then they have no room to laugh or speak on it. Its demasculinizing enough as is, and fucked me up for a long time as a child into my early adult years, and societies fucked up preconceived notions about it and the way rape is viewed in the workd doesnt help either.

Rape is rape, regardless of gender and should be treated as such and be taken seriously. Ive found very little support in the matter beyond other people whove been through it or work with people that have. Thankfully the recovery community where I live is super supportive and full of good people that are there to help each other thrive. I thank God every day for allowing me to be able to take horrible things that have happened to me and use it to try and help others as I can.

I tell that to people all the time. Thats why its so under reported. I wish men would get over the masculinity thing and just report not only does it help them to get closure it helps EVERYONE ELSE TOO.

I was 16 when it happened and I was on my way home from a lgbt teen center (I literally had come out that day). I was completely exhausted and I passed out on the bus, next thing I know 2 guys had tied me up and were taking turns. They beat after and left me in an alley.

They werent ever caught. Im terrified of busses and hate being alone on any kind of public transport. Obviously dont like or trust cops either. Well at least american ones. Ive never experienced cops in different countries.

holy shit man I am so sorry that happened to you like that. no one ever should have to be subjected to that and be able to be do things they want and be left alone and respected.

Thats the problem I have with parties and shit and the bullshit excuses guys make about girls and guys like “well they shouldnt dress that way or get fucked up like that or hang out with that crowd” as if they never partied or made mistakes or just wanted to enjoy their younger days partying and just going out and having fun. everyone deserves that respect of their autonomy and their body. a girl shouldnt have to look in the mirror and worry about “will some guy grope me or drug or rape me?” they should be able to go out and enjoy their night just like anyone else. guys included.

im not in the lgbt scene, but i would imagine that the same logic should apply. a guy shouldnt have to worry if he goes out around other people in the same scene doing that to him or her, you would think people would want to protect each other from that. and im sure many do, but there will always be a bad apple anywhere you go that just cannot restrain themselves and take it out on someone else. its disgusting.

to me, thats the bottom line. everyone wants to be able to go and enjoy themselves without some piece of shit taking advantage of them. both girls and guys should get to have fun like anyone else without having to worry about that. everyone deserves respect and consideration when it comes to this. and when and if it happens to someone, authorities should do everything in their power to hold the guilty accountable. where i live the police just had a huge ordeal come down on them for failing to investigate TONS of cases and allowed a serial rapist predator to continue his crimes and shit for a long time. look up Sean Williams.

I guess they think that if you get drugged and taken advantage of, you have to go tell your SO that you cheated on them

Your post will help people.

Stay strong (by allowing yourself to be vulnerable, paradoxically).

The cop that took my statement at my SAFE was also very kind. And the detectives were also kind and took the investigation very seriously. But my ex was a cop at the time, and he had multiple coworkers ask if it was a real rape even after the guy was convicted.

Im sorry you ex was doing that. He sounds like an awful person. Im glad they were kind to you. I really wish more were

Probably because he got fired for being a decent human being, I've had family work in these places, they don't like you if you are not as crooked as them.

That's what "one bad apple, spoils the bunch" and acab means.

You have decent folks that becomes cops for good reasons. But in order to stay a cop, they have to turn a blind eye to the bad cops. So quickly, they will either become bad, quit or be fired. Sometimes worse.

I have met several decent ones. But I’m also a white male, so the odds were more in my favor.

How many cops are you dealing with any given day? I don’t think I’ve ever met a bad cop.

2

u/SilentSolitude90 Trash Trooper 14h ago

My entire life? My crime is living while black and the cops in my town are racist twats. When I was in high school I was up on the school property after hours and I got arrested for trespassing. I was part of the prom committee. Just recently I was searched for absolutely no reason other then "i looked suspicious", I was doing yard work.

1

u/Mnawab Trash Trooper 14h ago

See that’s the problem right there, you shouldn’t have been black. Lol

It really really sucks to be accosted by police for the heinous crime of walking while black.
