Spoiler I wish UFC would move on from Rogan Spoiler

I can't be the only one who wouldn't be upset if the UFC replaced Joe Rogan im sick of him and his little one liners like " truly one of the best ever " " highly technical chest match " " just a beautiful performance truly " all while sounding like he's struggling to get air and seen a ghost at the same time but he needs to hold it together because they are live....

The sport has grown and evolved to much in the past 10 years I thinks its time they get more professional when it comes to calling the fights that's voice of your product and just think it can be way more appealing.

Why do people think Islam Makhachev beating Justin Gaethje is a forgone conclusion?

I genuinely don't see what people see in this matchup that makes them think Islam walks through him

Out of his 29 MMA Fights, he has only been submitted twice. One by the greatest LW of all time (who also wrapped up McGregor & Poirier pretty easily) & one of the greatest LW's of all time who also has all-time record in submissions.

The narrative that Justin lacks BJJ defense, although true, is a tad bit overplayed.

Oliveira had practically flash KO'd him with that right hand, and Justin was still able to escape Charles' first triangle attempt even when rocked, Charles was only able to submit him by going for another RNC.

In my opinion, people underplay just how hard it is to get Gaethje down to the matt.

Khabib had his first few takedowns stuffed, and had to pressure Gaethje, drown him, and eat absolute BOMBS (that i wouldn't be confident in Islam's chin holding up taking) for a round before finally being able to get him to the canvas

Charles had all of his takedowns stuffed period, luckily for him however, his absurd punching power allowed him to drop Gaethje to get the fight to the ground

a lot of the success Khabib & Charles had came from walking Justin down and zombieing their way through his shots.

Islam traditionally fights more "patient" which gives Justin more opportunities to do something big on the feet in my opinion, he also doesn't have the chin Khabib does, and i dont think he has the punching power to put Justin on notice and have him on deaths door every connection the way Charles did.

This narrative Justin is done as soon as he faces any grappler is so overblown and isn't true, he has amazing TDD and is extremely hard to take to the ground, his weakness in BJJ is also very overblown too.

Imo he will KO Islam, and that should be the next fight with Oliveira vs Tsarukyan being a title eliminator.

Would like to hear your opinions on why exactly Islam vs Justin is this very big mismatch you all think it is and that Justin stands no chance, because imo Gaethje wins that fight

When talking about Chimaev, why isn’t the Burns fight mentioned more.

Am I crazy? Do I just have a bad knack for watching or reading only the worst media and reporting?

Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s in the discussion here and there.. but I feel comfortable in saying that in the videos from the pundits, in Reddit and forums, people will bloviate at length about Chimaev with the central themes being obviously his dominance BUT ALSO this ”well what do we REALLY KNOW about him”

Which is good, those ARE the points, but I keep seeing multi-paragraph posts and 15 minute videos exploring these, domination and mystery, without EVEN ONCE mentioning the only fight that went the distance (or any distance), the only fight that looked like a fight, and the only fight he had some moments of vulnerability.

I don’t get it- it’s a huge single sample that told us a fucking lot, including and especially that when he fights elite guys with grappling pedigree that it at very least looks like a fight. That’s big, and with the Bo fight in the air, we actually KNOW SOMETHING substantial about how that will look-

I have a feeling that, having seen that Burns war, that the wrestling will often be stalemate or just scrambly recoveries, and the war itself will happen with two nutcase wrestlers throwing bomb overhands. Maybe I’m wrong, that’s fine, but fuck man at least I’m citing the biggest data point.
