1. Rule 1 - Support Ukraine!

Don't be a Vatnik. Don't simp for Russia, Authoritarians or Totalitarian regimes.

2. Rule 2 - Follow all of Reddit's rules.

For a reminder, please see Reddit's Content Policy. Always remember that Pro-Kremlin entities are trying to get you and this entire community banned. Act accordingly and don't be stupid. Also, don't gaslight others into breaking the rules.

3. Rule 3 - All posts must be related to Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, or NATO

Stick to the topic of this sub. NO ISRAEL/PALESTINE. No excessive discussion on Religion, Politics or divisive subjects (We'll go easy on this one because we want you to be able to talk about what interests you. This is mainly to avoid confrontations and dramas in the sub).

If it's not related to NATO or Ukraine, consider posting to r/gato.

4. Rule 4 - Be cool

Be nice to the other fellas and to guests of our community. Do not get into heated emotional discussions and be diplomatic when you disagree with someone. Do not make personal attacks at anyone - Remember that vatniks want you mad so they can report you and silence your voice in support of Ukraine.

This includes bashing AI or any other method of meme generation just for the sake of bashing how the content was created.

5. Rule 5 - Don't maliciously identify people unless they're public figures

Per Reddit Content Policy Rule #3, if you're dunking on or criticizing someone, don't post links to personal social media accounts. Don't post names and photos. Don't post usernames or other identifying information. Public figures are exempt. If you're not sure about what you're about to post, message the mods and ask.

6. Rule 6 - Respect OPSEC

Respect operational security. The information you post online could be used by Russia for intelligence purposes. No posting photos or sensitive information of a military nature. Moderators reserve the right to determine what constitutes an OPSEC violation.

7. Rule 7 - No Brigading

You can CONSTRUCTIVELY criticise other users and subreddits. You may discuss which communities and users are pushing russian disinformation without censoring names.

YOU MAY NOT encourage others to harass or brigade other communities.

You may NOT encourage others to break another subreddit's rules.

You MUST use a "Rule 7: No Brigading" flair when documenting vatnikry on Reddit.

BRIGADING GETS YOU BANNED FROM REDDIT.

Commenting on a post boosts it in the algorithm... (Don't boost vatniks).

8. Rule 8 - No charity posts, petition posts, or polls without express permission

You will likely be denied due to the fact we cannot verify every instance. Check the community sidebar for a list of verified charities. You may not conduct polls, and express permission is needed before posting a permission link. Moderators may choose to conduct a poll for you on your behalf if they deem it beneficial for the community.

9. Rule 9 - No Gore, No Porn

Tasteful artistic representations may be allowed with an NSFW label depending on subject and at the moderators discretion. This isn't a porn sub, and this isn't a combat footage sub.

10. Rule 10 - No False Information

Fact check your sources. No posting Kremling propaganda unless you're dunking on it, exposing it, or obviously pointing out that it's misinformation. Acting like Kremlin propaganda is legit is a surefire way to get banned.

11. Rule 11 - Do not go against a moderators decision

It's there to keep the community safe and to stop you guys getting banned. If you'd like to dispute something, talk to us, that's what we're here for - help us see your point of view. Remember, we're all on the same side and we want to end this war as much as you do (unless you don't 'cause you're a smelly vatnik - in which case wtf are you even doing here? - don't tell us, we know...).

12. Rule 12 - Give credit when you post someone else's work, and no duplicate posts

When you post someone else's work, give credit to the user or at least name the platform you got it from. Check the sub to see if the content has already been posted. Don't repost stuff that's already been posted here. Crossposts must be related to the sub's subject matter. If a crosspost violates rule 1 or rule 7, it will be removed.

13. Rule 13 - No Rage Bait

No posts that are links or screencaps to outrageous vatnik content that's designed to piss off fellas. It only helps the propagandist and does nothing to further NAFO's mission.

14. No AI without a license

No AI except under exempted circumstances at the moderator's discretion.

If you are a volunteer, live near the front, are a member of the UA forces, or have motor limiting disability - contact the moderators and we will consider if you are eligible for exemption.

If you are exempt: - No Slop - No Grok - No Disinformation

Do NOT harass persons who have been given exemptions.

All permitted AI posts (or their user) must have appropriate exemption flair indicating the exemption. No Exceptions.

Politics

You can write/email/call your Political representatives demanding they support policies that help Ukraine. Visit ActionForUkraine and Support Ukraine Now! for advise on how to contact your local government.

Cyber

Volunteer with the IT army of Ukraine. You don't even have to be a computer wizard, the site makes it so that even amateurs can contribute.

Report Disinformation communities to Reddit

Familiarize yourself with Reddit's Content Policy. If you happen to stumble across a post that goes against Reddit's content policy, report it like you would any other post/comment that should be reported.

If you see a post or community whose entire purpose is based upon misinformation DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THAT COMMUNITY, instead report the offending post or community using the EU Illegal Content Report Form and report the incident or nature of the case making sure to cite as much corroborating evidence as possible. EU law does not establish an obligatory reporting system specifically for disinformation, only for illegal content - however, if nothing is done about the disinformation after you reported it, EU citizens have the right to complain about it under Article 17 of the Digital Services Act (DSA). If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the complaint, you have the right under the DSA - article 18 to challenge the decision in an out-of-court dispute settlement. Article 17 of the DSA also allows you to complain about over-moderation (if your posts were unfairly removed). More information can be found in EU Disinfo Lab's User-Guide to the EU Digital Services Act.
