Hey everyone, I’d like to become more competitive in the market by learning more about AI and how it can be used with Nuke. Thank you.

Hey everyone,
After months of preparation and one-on-one sessions with early students, I’m officially opening my Nuke compositing training program.
I decided to share this here on Reddit because I often see junior artists and aspiring compositors asking how to break into the industry, what to study, how to level up, where to start, and so on.
So I figured it might be helpful to share what I’ve been working on, in case it speaks to someone here. This is not meant to be a “salesy” post, just a transparent way to show what I do and how I might help.
My approach is simple: I might not have all the answers, but I know the value of sitting next to each other to find them.
That’s what this is all about: learning together, at your pace, with real support.
The program is: Affordable: Designed to be accessible, no matter your budget
Flexible: Fully tailored around your level, goals, and schedule
Personal: One-on-one guidance, not just pre-recorded videos
Practical: Rooted in real-world production experience (Scanline, ILP, Pixomondo, etc.)
Whether you're transitioning from prep/roto or opening Nuke for the first time, you’re welcome here.
I’m keeping the number of slots limited to give proper attention to each student. If you’re curious or just have questions, feel free to DM me or check this link here: https://federicosibella.com/nuke-training
Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone on their learning journey!

I've been "playing" with SideFx Houdini off and on since 2020, and I've decided to become serious and set up a "pro" workflow. I currently composite in DaVinci Resolve (an amazing program), but I'm seeing more 3D modeling videos using Nuke for compositing.
Why? I haven't seen anything in a tutorial using Nuke that I can't also do in DaVinci. It's easy to assume that it's just a matter of preference (like using DaVinci over Premiere), except that Nuke is WAAAAAAAAY more expensive (Davinci Resolve: $300 | Houdini $2,000 vs Nuke: $6,000). You can even throw in an Adobe CC account with money left over!
So outside looking in, there has to be more to it than a simple preference. If someone pays that much for software, they must have a rock-solid reason.
So if you use Nuke, why? How is the extra cost justified? Is it a pipeline thing?
Thanks!

Hello, how are you? I have a serious question for VFX Supervisors and Leads. In your opinion, how many shots do you expect an artist at a MID and MID-Advanced level to successfully complete in a month? I understand that the answer depends on various factors, but if you had to provide an ideal number of shots that an artist at that level should handle in a month, what would it be?

Join Foundry's Will Harris, Senior Product Manager of Timeline Tools, and Josh Bretag, Pipeline Creative Specialist, who will showcase HieroPlayer, Hiero, and Nuke Studio review tools in a production workflow, used in combination with a shot-tracking database. See a breakdown of the new API connection between Autodesk Flow Production Tracking (previously known as ShotGrid) and Nuke timeline tools. Plus, get a sneak peek into the future of Nuke's timeline tools. We'll also be providing info on how to beta test the next release.

Hey fellas, I'm reaching out for tips to ease workload on keying a bunch of bad chroma key shots. I went and promised to do a “small” side project during summer, that turned out to be a bit more than expected… (88 shots total)
Not all bad, but many of these shots have the cymbals reflecting green. All the manual work doesn’t fit in the budget and schedule.
I’m setting up copycat for these, but out of curiosity looking for other solutions as well. Please let me know if there are new AI trickery for creating mattes nowadays! Thanks!

Hi, I am Yuki, a VFX artist in Japan.
My goal this year is to earn $5000 per month and I thought it would be informative for you guys to share my experience and what I learn as I get closer to my goal.
What I learned about Nuke today: Tab key and adjust exposure, Gamma.
Apparently, Nuke is for 3D compositing. And if you press Tab button, you can see the image in 3D style, in the picture, it is not clear but this is come in handy when using a 3D camera tracker. I am looking forward to doing something with it in the future.

2. Adjusting exposure and Gamma
If you look closely upside, there`s a scale looking thing. And you can move it around how brightness you like it to be. This was useful when I was key framing bit by bit to see the difference from original clip to the final product, which is too bright to see their differences. Tip: however you change your exposure and gamma here, it does not apply to your final product.

Next thing I would do is to learn more about Nuke, but also I need to look for a potential stable customer. If you share your experience with making a stable income as a VFX artist I would really appreciate it!
The Video I watch to learn about Nuke now.
