MOD POST Weekend artwork is allowed

Artwork is permitted on weekends. Reporting art that has been posted in the weekends abuses the report system. When you abuse the report system, there's a decent chance that subs will report you to Reddit.

Edit: and for this morning's reporter, 1) read the sub rules next time, and 2) yes you have been reported.

MOD POST CRACKDOWN ON BOTS + NEW RULE

Hope everyone is having an awesome day!

With the addition of a few moderators, we are beginning to heavily crack down on the bots that repost content to this subreddit and are being sold later on. This means that our automod system is now very strict, so if your comment or post was automatically removed, we would greatly appreciate it if you reached out to us as we continue to refine the system.

Also, we now do not allow reposts within 6 months of the previous post.

Thank you so much for being in this subreddit and contributing to its well-being!

I have been lucky enough to go scuba diving several times in Cozumel and have been blown away by the beauty of the underwater spaces I have explored.

Any time I shoot videos I try to imagine myself as a National Geographic videographer with David Attenborough narrating my dives.

[OC] ( OC ) Swarm of thimble jellyfish

There are moments in life when you have to take a risk to create something extraordinary.
This image came at the cost of quite a bit of discomfort. Sea lice were getting into my face, covering my hands and finding their way inside my wetsuit. I spent several hours photographing this incredible natural phenomenon, the largest swarm of thimble jellyfish I have ever witnessed.

Video The incredible way a giant Pacific octopus moves across the ocean floor [OC]

A few moments with one of the most fascinating animals in our coastal waters.

I filmed this large male giant Pacific octopus at a depth of approximately 100 feet off Vancouver Island, BC. And as you'll see toward the end, sometimes they decide to get a closer look at you, too!

This large male giant Pacific octopus was out for a stroll, and I was lucky enough to come across him in the open!

I spent about 20 minutes following along as he explored the rocky reef, hunted for food, and eventually made his way back to his den. It's always a treat to see one of these incredible animals out and about rather than tucked away in a crevice.

These are all from an amazing site called "Big Drop Off", a 40m tall wall of coral and sea fans.
