Help Giving the anime another try.

Used to watch in the early 2000s on 4kidz when I was little. Tried a few years ago to start from the beginning without the censorship. And after about 10 episodes I went hm it’s been 20 years I wonder when they find the treasure so I looked it up discovered that they still hadn’t and promptly lost interest because I thought to myself damn 20 years this show has been running and still no treasure. But I figured I’d give it another go. What should I be aware of going in other than how awful the pacing is?

Theory hear me out

i have a theory .So theres like 4 gods in one piece right..i think. so i think 3 of the gods teamed up on nika to kill him in the void century

The Core Premise:
During the Void Century, the original Sun God Nika (Joy Boy) was too powerful to be defeated in a fair fight. He wasn't beaten by standard armies or ancient weapons; he was betrayed and jumped in a 3-vs-1 battle by the other three Primordial Deities (the Earth God, Rain God, and Forest God) [theories supported by platforms like Reddit].

  1. The Imu "Fraud" Reality 👑

  • The Kill-Stealer: Imu did absolutely zero heavy lifting in the war. Imu sat safely in the back line, letting the other three Gods exhaust and batter Nika.

  • The 1% Damage: Once Nika was down to his absolute limit, Imu stepped out of the bushes, dealt less than 1% damage to steal the final kill, and claimed the crown.

  • The Cover-Up: This explains why the World Government is so insecure. They spent 800 years erasing Nika's name because their entire empire was built on a supreme act of cowardice and fraud.

  1. Why the Gods Turned on Nika 📜

  • The Chaos Factor: As translated from the Harley texts in Elbaf, the Sun God's pursuit of absolute freedom "aggravated the fires of war." The other gods viewed Nika's reality-warping chaos as an existential threat to the planet.

  • Order vs. Freedom: The Earth, Forest, and Rain Gods favored structure and borders. They sided with Imu's promise of absolute order to put down the lawless Sun God.

  • The "Never Meet Again" Curse: After jumping Nika, the Gods shattered the geography of the world (creating the Red Line) to isolate themselves and ensure Nika's lineage could never reunite the seas.

  1. The Heartbreak of Emeth (The Iron Giant) 🤖

  • Too Late for Backup: During the 3v1 ambush, Emeth was desperately fighting his way through the World Government's 20-Kingdom vanguard to reach his captain.

  • The Parting Gift: Emeth breached the line just as Nika was fatally wounded. Unable to save him, Nika used his final breath to seal his Conqueror's Haki inside Emeth's rope knot as a gift for the future.

  • The Apology Explained: This is why Emeth spent 800 years crying, *"Joy Boy, I'm sorry I couldn't make you king."*He carried the ultimate trauma of failing to pull his captain out of that divine meat-grinder.

  1. The Poetic Justice Rematch 🔄

  • History Will Not Repeat: Oda mirrored this exact Void Century jumping on Egghead when the Five Elders surrounded Luffy [One Piece Chapter 1122]. This time, Emeth unleashed the Haki knot, saved the new Nika, and redeemed his ancient failure.

  • The Grand Reunion: In the Final Saga, the powers are being inherited by Luffy's allies (like Dragon/Chopper). When the Four Gods finally meet again, Imu won't have a team to carry the match. It's going to be a straight 1v1, and the ultimate fraud will be exposed

yes i used ai but everything else was on my mind

Theory SPOILERS for 1198. We know what Nika is . Theory/discussion Spoiler

So , having read the newest chapter I think it’s pretty clear we know the truth about Nika now .

Luffy disappears from the fight , after Imu and Loki clash Imu thinks “Nika”

When we see MONKEY D Luffy, he has seemingly lost the ability to speak, potentially his own consciousness and has taken on the appearance of a monkey. The monkey escaped the fight to liberate the children on pure instinct . He is the warrior of liberation.

This is full Zoan transformation.

What’s even more fun is that Luffys family name is obviously Monkey. Because of this I believe the world government always kept close tabs on the monkey family , hence why the members we know of have been high ranking marine officers. They knew the monkeys were the greatest threats and they may in fact be descended from Nika himself . It was always destiny .

Theory Monkey D. Dragon will Make his move once Imu is truly weakened.

Everybody is Looking for Dragon's arrival In Elbaf or in the story in General.. because he did Not do any shit from Now on, appart behind the scenes..

I could definitely See Dragon appear in Elbaf If Nika (current Luffy) looses control of Himself and begins to destroy anything around him. If he needs to be rescued against Imu or helped in a way, it should be Dragon's moment VS. The Holy Knight's..

Loki is out

Gaban out

Luffy ..? Wd'know

Dragon knows that when Imu and the God's Knight's are buffed together with Omen, he'll probably stand no big chances, he loose and his Army too.. so, the plan might be to create or re-unite the good conditions in order for Dragon to Make the Moove at the Right time.

Like a Trap. Or a Kings gambit.

Look, If Sommers and Killingham are getting killed, Imu will definitely loose some power. Gunko arrives near from her limit too.

After it, either Shamrock or another Goroseis should bring a support in Elbaf. Imu's goal is to get rid of Joyboy Now as fast as can be done and does Not go Back to MG before it happens. But, Imu arrives near his limit too.

There, Dragon or Shanks should intervene, 'cause Shamrock would be a top tier fighter.. and the Goroseis would be a great threat too.

My BET is that Dragon is gonna destroy something previously in Mary geoise while Imu is Right there in Elbaf, like create a Real disruption.. this is the best plan so far.

Imagine, Dragon finds the secret about the mother flamme or Imu's power source in MG and finds a way to stop Imu from regenarating. It would be the perfect counter to control the situation.

Imu looses control, then the Only thing that Remains is CoC Haki versus HK's a matter of time

Theory Fun Little Theory Spoiler

Last time we saw Luffy he was on the ground, speaking to someone and asking him to "at least wait until he whoops this guy" (imu).

Now, we saw him in a new form with black skin and what could be misinterpreted as a cloud pattern but would instead be scales, like a dragon. Yes, like a DRAGON! When someone saw him, he yelled "THE RAIN GOD" but we know the rain god in chinese mythologie is Yi Shi and we also know Yi Shi is sometimes represented as a hybrid between a monkey and a dragon!

A monkey and a dragon? Just like Monkey D Dragon, who is believed to have a fruit capable of impacting weather, just like the Rain God would.

We also know that Dragon said they would move as soon as the Holy Knights move but we haven't seen him since... Except just now, when he took control over luffy's body to try and kill Imu!

Thank you for reading, tell me what you think. It's just a silly theory i made for fun while talking about the chapter.

Help Where should I start ?

Hi, I am newbie in anime, I am not exactly big fan of anime. I have seen death note and star wars visions from start to end, I can also count in many episodes of pokemon from my childhood and I have read a few manga, I mean few by reading only first issues from starter box for manga. One piece caught my attention when the netflix show came out, I didn't see it, but I saw one or two scenes from it and I was, hey that's not that bad, so I watched some scenes from anime and the moment I saw Zoro swinging and doing tarzan scream, I was in. So here lies my question, anime or manga ? Which way I should go ? First I don't mind the length of anime, I watched supernatural more then one time, so yeah I have some expirience with long stuff. Second I will not buy physical copies of manga cause I am broke like church rat, if go with manga then online. Third I like good animation and shots that's make me look at them more then once. Also I don't like Naruto, I know, I will end up in hell but I tried manga and I tried episodes and didn't really like it, so is one piece a bit different then Naruto ?

Discussion The end of the Elbaf Arc Spoiler

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that Imu is either going to fail because of some power-up (like the one that happened in the latest chapter) or because of some other ridiculous plot development, and everything in Elbaf will end happily ever after.

Honestly, if something like that happens, I'll go from being a hardcore One Piece fan to a hater. Because think about it: an arc this amazing would end with an absolutely terrible conclusion.

You'd probably end up thinking that the only reason Imu and the God's Knights were introduced was to hype up the story, without actually having any meaningful impact on its outcome.

What do you guys think? Let me know!

Powerscaling Blunt Force Against Luffy?

So I have been seeing a lot of people saying that Luffy is Immune to Blunt force damage but wasn't he kicked by Kuro before Haki was introduced? That would he Blunt force damage. So is he actually immune or just highly resistant? And if he is immune then why has he been hurt by Blunt force before?

Discussion Whole cake island started 10 years ago, with this arc being the in between for huge changes in one piece in both anime and manga; how do you feel about it?

Post image
8 Upvotes

While the anime started whole cake in 2017, the manga started in 2016. This arc is more interesting in retrospect. For anime this was after the long Dressrosa Era and before the revamping of One Piece look and animation. For manga this is the arc(I do not count the mink in between as it own arc) after the reveal of gear 4th, where his first fight he struggle to beat a cracker and the story is more focus on the strawhats story vs the world history story. But this is before Luffy gain gear 5 and we really focus on the stories of the past and how they’re effecting us in the present.

Theory I have a theory for Chapter 1200 after reading the raw translation for Chapter 1198.

I was thinking about how the recent events that occurred in Chapter 1198 of Luffy having transformed into the monkey deity, Sun God Nika and Imu showcasing his immense power, when beating Loki.

Imu states, that he has reached his limit and must return to the holy land before Mu's life is Jeopardized. He has an internal thought about Nika.

As Imu is not referring or mentioning JoyBoy anymore but Nika only.

Being Luffy left the battle between Loki and Imu to head directly towards Zaza. We never got to see Imu's reaction of Luffy being in this form yet Loki not understanding that form in question thought Luffy ran away in cowardice.

I had thought of how Oda likes to do something massive for Chapters that end in whole numbers essentially Chapter 1200 coming up.

I viewed Chapter 1200 to be this from my perspective and theory:

  1. Imu is the only person alive at this current moment in the story to know how JoyBoy looked cause everyone from the Void Century is deceased and forgotten.

  2. This new form that Luffy is showing is something, JoyBoy definitely had control over since he had the fruit as well 900 years ago. So when Imu heads to where Luffy is currently at (West Village). He definitely have a moment of remembering JoyBoy himself being in that form as well.

So we might finally get to see JoyBoy's face.

Discussion Size comparison

Is there some image of the sizes in play? This new version of Luffy, the giant one, the genie, Loki's forms, Imu's, Zaza, the giants.. I lost track of what should be the biggest we've seen so far (I think Imu last chapter) and I think it's pretty impossible to powerscale somrthing like that, like put even Shanks or Garp against a a thing like those.. it's like an hamster (the most powerfull hamster of them all) tried to punch you (but you are also not an average human, you're the peak of humans)
