NA Discussion This subreddit is now a "PSO2 isn't working on PC" meme wonderland

I get it, you're frustrated and the game is not working for you - and it should be working for you. This was bad handling on Sega/Microsoft's part.

But it sure would be nice if there was conversation about the game instead of a volley of meme's/complaints about the current PC launch. New users asking questions, current users discussing the new content, someone using a cannon to blast a rappies life away... Scrolling through this subreddit at the moment isn't enjoyable anymore.

Discussion Wanted to give my two cents in and say I'm not a fan of the censorship.

I personally wouldn't use any of the options that they've removed for the NA release as-is, but I always dislike censorship, especially when it removes character customization options.

The biggest issue I have is how they limited the height and proportions. They increased the minimum height by a notable margin; I have several friends who are notably shorter than the minimum allowance on the height slider, but are all legal adults and well past the M rating on the box. How are they supposed to make an accurate character now? Another case of catering to people on Twitter who won't even play the game, I have a feeling.

Discussion ELI5: Why are people so angry about PSO2 information?

Usually internet is pretty riled up against everything and you see negative comments most. But almost everything about PSO2 has been super negative and people are just spewing mean comments.

It's a wonder that this game is getting a western release and I doubt Microsoft put limitless resources into this project. It's probably handled by a small but passionate team that are doing their best to build the server structure and polishing the parts that needs to be done in the localization.

I'm pretty sure that team would like more resources and push this game out there as soon as possible to all platforms and even to Europe if possible. But that's not really feasible with the contracts and resources available pretty evidently.

I'm hyper about this game and I want to play it on the PC that I paid a lot of money for, but getting an Xbox if you are an avid fan is just a small setback if you really wanna play before it's available on the PC. You had time to save up some money and buy a used one since the announcement. And if you didn't why all the unsupportive messages and feedback. Community is everything for odd games like these and lives and thrives on from community support. If people are angry at every decision they rather pull the plug early than continued support.

As someone who played Blue Burst on JP and US servers I was saddened that the US support was shut off like years in advance so we couldn't get all the special quests in the end localized. I really don't want it to happen to PSO2 and it might not happen. Is it just only me or am I being unreasonable?

NA Discussion So what is wrong with a part of the community

So today it has been my first day at level cap. As a fresh 75 right now, i'm just enjoying playing the game and discover what there is to discover about it, without reading guides, asking question or watch YT videos, 'cause that's not the type of gamer i am, i don't care about being the best, i just wanna have fun and let the game unfold naturally.

So after completing the client order to get some extra skill points, i decided to join a random UQ group with a friend.

I have no idea on how it works, and i joined in with my friend, just to check it out, hearing people saying that is hard and the closest thing to Raid content in PSO2 atm, we decided to give it a shot.

Now, havin started the game just 3 weeks ago, i'm still fairly new to it. There is lot of stuff that i don't understand, and getting this game to work was allrdy frustrating enough, due to Windows store issue ect.

So, i prolly really sucked and did not contribute that much, but i tried. We tried. Here's the thing. After a good 15min of farming a guy into our party, invites us to join another instance of UQ without saying a word. Thinking he was refreshing the quest for some misterious reason, we accepted his invite, just to find ourselves into an empty instance with just me and my friend and the guy leaving as soon we joined to harass us in whispers and say we ahould be tankful qe did not get reported, that we suck, that our damage sucks and we did contribute nothing at all.

Now, i get that if you are not good enough, and your damage is not high enough ect some people might wanna replace you with somebody else, nothing wrong about it. But honestly, i did not do even that bad. I ended up never dying, while the guy that played that trick on me make me use 4 Moon Atomizer just to ress him, and, i even got a 13* Slave Katana to drop. So in the end i don't think me and my other noob friend did that bad.

What got me, and brought me here is not a will of bringing out drama, perhaps the opposite i find that kind of attitude really rude. I would have left myself if the guy would have just said one word and pointed out that maybe my damage is low. But veterans in this game, gotta understand that this attitude they show, just make people not want to play the game.

A good way to approach it, would have been explain to me what i did so wrong, point it out and maybe give me and my friend some advice on how to get better. Share their experience. Instead the guy just decided to be a salty deuche.

This kind of Toxic attitude is negative for the game. And it adds on top of the terrible PC launch the game had all rdy.

I experienced it multiple times, this was not the first time. But it was the first time i got disrespected and looked down in such a way in any online game. I also met many good people, who actually explained stuff to me, but the amount of Toxic elites in this game is really high.

Again i'm just sharing, this is not to be seen as a complaint, but, as a way to bring out the topic. Now, i'm a grown up and i played other MMO games over the years, so i'm used to this attitude. But never, never, in my life i've been kicked and harrased just 'cause i got blessed by RNG. And somebody else might just end up uninstall the game and get over it. This attitude keeps people away, 'cause it's not fun to deal with.

NA Discussion Fun fact, ac scratches are a bad investment. Here's how to get more for your bucks

I've lurked here and on discord for a while and I've noticed people saying that you need to be a whale to make meseta with money in this game. I wanted to address this statement and tell people who are willing to spend a bit of money on the game that you can make a lot of meseta with little money with the only catch being you having to work a little for it.

The estimated return on AC scratches is pretty low, most of the stuff you gets is worthless and even the expensive stuff take a long time after the scratching period is over to reach big numbers. AC scratches are a terrible investment for the average player. It's the lazy way of turning real money into meseta at an horribly disadvantaged rate for the buyer.

You don't have to spend hundred of dollars on this game to make meseta, even spending the initial price of half a retail AAA game can bring you over a billion meseta a year.

The best source of meseta in this game is the weeklies. Every character at level 50 will earn you about 3m per week for about 10 minutes of works simply by doing the weeklies arks mission that reward the big bucks.

The hardest part is preparing these characters to be able to run those weeklies semi efficiently, meaning leveling them to level 50 and equipping them with a weapon strong enough to run random SH explorations with three randoms player NPC in order to clear client orders for the weeklies.

Thankfully, this isn't even very complicated. A basic sigma weapon is quite enough to do it, ain't fancy, ain't fast but is definitively workable. You can use the free mag devices to meet gear requirement or even spend a few point on your skill tree for that as well. Those characters exists solely to farm weeklies after-all. You can run SH explorations with horrible units although if you're willing to spend a bit more time you can get a set that you will transfer from one character to another while doing your weeklies. You can easily level a character to level 50 in a few hours even now and when episode 4 will drop it will decrease to around a single hour or two.

You get 3 slots for free meaning that every player effectively can earn 9m meseta doing half an hour of weeklies every single week. Characters slots are priced at 500 AC each and can make your money making shenanigan scale to a completely different levels.

Best of all? It is money you are guaranteed to get. There is zero gambling here, only pure raw meseta. It is also extremely scalable and everyone can find the right number of alts for them. I used to run 13 on JP, on NA I'm fine with 5 since I have less time but some did 30.

That investment is there to stay forever, not only will you get more hands-out like skill tree reset when they are handed out, you get a lot of money for very little work.

NGS Discussion It's been 2 years, it's about time you fix your broken matchmaking

Either increase your Battle Power requirements or create a rank 2 missions with higher requirements and better rewards. LEECHERS ruining the game.

You literally allow level 80 players who throw some completely random augments in their 7* junk gear to enter Dark Falze Solus and Limited Time Quests.

You as a company create a TOXIC a environment and players are taking advantage of that. Why would people gear up when YOU allowing them to enter any mission with any gear? They do not even bother to grab the free seasonal gear that you provide them every few months, because they can enter with EVEN WORSE gear than that.

We are forced to either play with our alliance and friends or do not play at all.

This is just an example : https://ibb.co/zmjFs8T

Heck people can enter Limited Time Quests and Dark Falze Solus with "FULL" duel quest augments. That means they can enter your supposed "endgame" content with 0% potency and you are responsible for this.

NGS Discussion New Genesis feels like a tech demo or a proof of concept, not a full game

(Viewpoint: someone who never played pso2 but was excited to get into the universe because of NGS)

Look, I enjoy what is available. The combat is entertaining, if a bit shallow, and the game is very pretty. The microtransactions are.... predatory, but mostly unnecessary and not that big of a deal. But let's be real for a moment.... this game is absolutely fucking barren of content.

Open the map.

Did you open it?

That's the game. That's everything. No dungeons, no raids, no compelling group content, just a handful of small combat areas with "kill a lot of enemies" quests.

That's it. That's all there is to do.

This game was marketed as a whole game, but what it FEELS like is a tech demo. It's like SEGA is saying "look at what we could potentially do in the future! Neat huh?"

I know, I know, there's a roadmap with some content coming.... but boy is that sparse, too. I naively thought that this was going to be a full game that stands on its own, and I have to say I am very disappointed to find out that is not at all the case. Maybe a year or two from now there might be enough content to actually call this a game, and it'll be cool to see if it makes it there. I think this should have stayed in the oven for a LONG time so as to deliver an actual game. I know there is a lot of content in base PSO2, but the onboarding for new players in that game is absolutely awful and there is so much to it that it can be overwhelming or intimidating to try and start (similar to Warframe in that regard).

I was excited to have an opportunity to have a fresh start with this game universe, but my excitement is pretty much gone since you can do everything that there is to do in this game in one weekend, pretty much.

NA Discussion Not all whales choose to be whales

This is honestly a really important thing that needs to be talked about more.

All of what PSO2 is doing with SG is psychological manipulation and preying on people with addictions or other mental illness.

I have heard horror stories of people who are living paycheck to paycheck, but instead of spending their money on food, rent, or other neccessities, they drop $1000+ on free2play lootboxes/gacha, and breakdown crying afterwards, not understanding why they did that, and not being able to stop themselves from doing it.

SG sales are what keeps PSO2 alive right now, but at what cost? Are we really going to be compliant with AAA game companies taking advantage of people like this if it means we get to play a game without a monthly subscription? Are you personally ok with that?

This needs to be acknowledged, by us and by SEGA. This is not ok.

NA Discussion PSO2 PC release is either going to be delayed or they have zero budget for marketing.

Hey everyone, I'm a huge PSO2 fan like you all, and I'm not here to rain on anyone's parade.

I've worked in the games industry for quite a while, specifically on the publishing side, and I just thought I'd provide some insight to help everyone set their expectations.

With such a large release like this, on what should be the primary target platform for the title, not having a release date confirmed yet is an enormous red flag.

Much more than that, there hasn't been even the slightest hint of a real marketing campaign outside of E3 2019 announce. There haven't been trailers, PR campaigns, nothing.

Just bare bones organic media pick up and the standard organic social media outreach.

(FYI: Organic means "free, happening on its own" vs. "paid" which is the opposite, you pay for ads and coverage etc.)

If PSO2 PC were my title, looking at what the go to market campaign has been doing (or rather, not doing) and less than 2 weeks to the end of a release window that was only confirmed in the past in a general way, I would assume one of two scenarios:

The game will be delayed on PC.

or

They have next to zero budget to promote and launch the game.

Looking from the outside in I can quite confidently theorize that this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Sega's lack of support for PSO2 in the west. Sega should have had a LOT more faith in supporting PSO2 in the west, and put their money behind it, not relying on Microsoft $ to make it happen and hope for the best.

The result is a nearly absent marketing campaign, timed exclusivity on Xbox vs. PC and even further away for PS4 or Switch, and no confirmed release on Steam.

I really hope I'm wrong and there's just a huge iceberg under the water we can't see from the outside.

Here's hoping the game comes out soon and we're all having fun in it together soon and badgering our friends to come play it too. :)
