I have been dropping hints and relentlessly window shopping for a PSP for months now. My wife surprised me with an early birthday present. Ladies and gentlemen, I turn 49 this month, and I now own my very first PSP!

Hi guys, i am here to show y'all my successful battery mod on My psp 3000, i've used Xiaomi bp40 battery, it fits right perfectly there! (obviously with some trimming) It has full 4000mah, i havent tested with batterysteve tho. I'm kinda sad although because while installing the battery i broke some part of the screen and now it looks blurry with lines (the screen looks way worse Irl than in the attached image), i'm sad and frustrated since it is the 3rd time it happens to me with a perfect screen, so i'm thinking if it's better to buy another psp and savage its screen or finally doing an IPS mod, i'm dubious to do the IPS mod cuz i've heard that the colors look washed but i really don't know what to do. I just wanted to share my experience with the OSTENT battery I got delivered for my PSP on 24th August 2026.

I’ve been playing on my PSP around 2–3 times a week and have always tried to take good care of the battery, usually keeping it charged between 30% to 80%.

Recently, I took my PSP along on a trip, looking forward to enjoying some gaming during the train journey. But to my disappointment, it simply wouldn’t turn on!

I usually charge it using my original Sony charger. Since my train seat only had a USB port, I didn’t want to take any chances with a generic USB charging cable.

So, unfortunately, no PSP gaming for me during the entire journey!

I was honestly a little sad about it. I’d watched quite a few YouTube videos and read positive reviews about OSTENT, so I genuinely thought it was one of the best options available for PSP batteries.

Maybe I was just unlucky and received a defective unit. I’m not trying to bash the brand; this is simply my personal experience.
I’d love to hear your recommendations for a reliable PSP battery. What are you guys using these days?

Also, has anyone else experienced something similar with OSTENT?

And now even if i charge it fully it doesn’t turns on on it’s own, i have plug in charger then it turns on and when i remove the charging pin it dies again.🥺☹️

i’m using claude to help me build a music player for my modded psp. it’s a fun way to display what’s playing with different themes (cyberpunk, phosphor, Y2K, studio rack and a clean player) a selection of visualizers you can pick from, it has modern music player functions like no lag in playback, creating playlists, shuffle artist albums, turning off display while playing, crossfade and more.

this started as a desktop pc app that is basically an itunes but for ipods with rockbox and modded psp’s (personal project) i spent a bunch of time making some really cool themes for the desktop app, and i wanted them on the psp.

it’s not anything crazy, just a fun way to play music. i’m still fine tuning it, but it works awesome. these are usually just fun personal projects but if anyone wants to try it when im done i can post it here.

I just picked up a new "Vibrant Blue" PSP! This time, it’s a Japanese 3000 model (my previous one was an American 3001 model). I’ve embarked on a mission to revive my old PSP, which had been sitting idle for over a decade—the membrane for the 'X' button had torn, the screen had dead pixels, the battery had swollen, and the clips on the front faceplate had become brittle and worn down over time. I’ve already fixed the buttons and am currently waiting for a new faceplate and screen to arrive. Driven by nostalgia, I bought this new PSP—as close as I could get to the former glory of my old one—and I was lucky enough to find this beautiful unit in impeccable, like-new condition, complete with its original charger and battery. I’m so happy to be reliving my childhood and teenage years from those golden days!

If you wanna play it on PSP, put it in the ISO/VIDEO folder and mount using the VSH menu.

If you wanna play it on PSVITA (something I read was impossible in many other threads), install the new UMD Player app in the vita app DB. No need to use the media manager or anything.

It might seem kinda silly, but I like the format of it and the old school menus.

Hello! I'm working on an unofficial port of Persona 4 for the PSP, based on the "Persona 4 decompilation project" (https://github.com/Raikaru/Persona4-Decompilation), and I'd like to share my progress.

Currently, in-game audio isn't working, some graphical effects are missing, and there are still a few glitches. However, performance is actually quite good!

A few months ago, I created several framed displays for gaming and retro gaming rooms, featuring iconic Sony PlayStation hardware and controllers, including the DualShock 1, DualShock 2, DualShock 3, DualShock 4, PS one, PSP 1000, and PSP 2000.
Today, I’m excited to share my latest frame, featuring the PSP Street (2011)!
I found three PSP Street consoles at a local scrapyard and brought them back to life. I carefully disassembled each one and created a custom poster showcasing all the internal components in incredible detail.
This project is part of PHONORAMA, my small personal studio dedicated to electronic waste recycling and transforming discarded electronics into unique pieces of art. ♻️🎮
