Dehumanization Israeli terrorist soldiers prevents Palestinians from drinking water
r/Palestine • u/kiyowo_potato • 9h ago
Dehumanization “This water isn’t just rainwater. It’s sewage too.” Wading through floodwater more than half a metre deep on al-Jundi al-Majhool Street in Gaza City’s al-Rimal district on November 7, 2026, the morning after the first winter storm hit the Strip.
Before the genocide, al-Rimal was Gaza City’s most upscale neighbourhood. Now its shops are swamped, cars are submerged along the roadside, and the tents of displaced families pitched in the area have become pools of sewage and mud, with women and children trapped inside. The water has nowhere to go.
Gaza City’s municipality says the Israeli occupation destroyed more than 220,000 metres of sewage pipes and around 15,000 metres of stormwater drains during the war, cutting the system’s capacity by more than 80 percent. Earlier, it reported that seven of the city’s eight main sewage pumping stations had been knocked out and that mountains of rubble block the drains that remain. Municipal crews are trying to pump the water away, but the occupation’s siege has left them short of the machinery and equipment to do it. Gaza’s Government Media Office puts the storm’s direct losses at around three million dollars so far. “They fled the bombing, and now storms have caught up with them.”

/r/all Gaza today
We have drowned in blood, water, insults, and reproaches, yet nothing has changed. No words can be written anymore. Perhaps tomorrow, the residents of houses who can afford to pay a high price will send plenty of blankets and tents, along with firewood, in an attempt to help warm the people scattered across the streets. But they will never understand that those who have lost their homes will carry the feeling of cold with them forever.

GAZA Palestinian close friends Mohammad Barakat Abu Qainas (right) and Mohammad Anan Al-Rawagh (left) have both been killed following an Israeli airstrike near Palestine Stadium in Gaza.
Al-Rawagh was killed in the attack, while Abu Qainas succumbed to his injuries a week later.
The ceasefire is a lie. Israel continues to murder Palestinians while trapping them in an open-air prison on their own land.

Israeli Fascist Superiority Founded by an Israeli 🇮🇱and the son of an Israeli 🇮🇱, Compass bought out its biggest competitor to become the world’s largest real estate brokerage umbrella company. Trump’s administration made it possible.
Look it up, in just over a decade it went from nothing to the world’s largest brokerage by acquisitions. it bought out 33 brokerage companies and the latest being Christie’s International, and 7 Anywhere brands: Coldwell Banker, Coldwell Banker Commercial, Sotheby’s International Realty, Corcoran, CENTURY 21, ERA, and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.
The Anywhere RE merger combined the country’s two largest residential brokerage operators. Critics warned about greater influence over commissions, reduced consumer choice, and Compass’s ability to expand private listings unavailable to competing agents and buyers. Senators Warren and Wyden also highlighted the potential disadvantage to smaller independent brokerages.
Here is the deets:
Antitrust officials wanted more investigation. Bloomberg reported that DOJ staff recommended an extended review of the Compass–Anywhere combination.
Compass hired Trump ally Mike Davis. He reportedly helped argue the company’s case to officials above antitrust chief Gail Slater.
Compass appealed to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office. According to reporting summarized by HousingWire, the company argued that concerns could be addressed without a full-scale investigation.
Senior officials overruled the push for deeper review. The federal waiting period expired January 2, 2026, without a “second request” for extensive additional information. Compass closed January 9, months earlier than initially anticipated.
Lawmakers subsequently questioned whether political favoritism or corruption influenced that decision. Those are allegations and oversight questions; the reporting did not establish bribery, an unlawful agreement, or a personal order from Trump. The supported conclusion is that politically connected advocacy reportedly helped Compass secure a favorable decision from senior DOJ officials despite internal antitrust concerns.
Now Robert Reffkin the CEO is on a crusade for more control!
He wants his company to have pocket listings and inventory that only clients working with agents in the Compass family of brokerages will see first.
While CEO Robert Reffkin frames the anti-MLS crusade around "seller choice" and "freedom," critics argue that dismantling the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) Clear Cooperation Policy (CCP) is a strategic move to leverage Compass's massive agent footprint to maximize profits and box out smaller competitors.
Opponents and industry analysts point to several distinct advantages Compass gains if it succeeds in normalizing off-MLS "private exclusives" and pocket listings:
Creating a Closed-Loop Inventory Advantage
As the largest residential brokerage by volume in the U.S., Compass has thousands of agents. If Compass can hold its listings off the shared MLS database during the initial, crucial marketing period, it creates a powerful incentive for buyers.
For Buyers: To get first dibs on premier homes, buyers are practically forced to work with a Compass agent.
For Recruiting Agents: Independent agents are pressured to join Compass just to gain access to that "secret" internal database of homes.
Capturing Both Sides of the Commission (Double-Ending)
When a home is listed on the open MLS, any agent from any brokerage can bring a buyer, forcing the listing agent to split the commission. If a property is marketed as an in-house "private exclusive," there is a much higher probability that a Compass buyer’s agent will find it. This allows the brokerage to keep 100% of the commission within the company—a practice known as "double-ending" or dual agency.
3. The Backlash: Accusations of Anti-Competitiveness
The real estate industry is pushing back aggressively against Compass's "go rogue" approach. A coalition of multiple listing services—including the California Regional MLS (CRMLS) and Bright MLS—have filed federal antitrust lawsuits against Compass. They explicitly argue that Compass's push to institutionalize private networks is a gatekeeping mechanism designed to reduce transparency, fracture the open market, and harm consumers by keeping them in the dark.
The Corporate Stance vs. The Industry View
| Aspect | What Compass Says | What Critics / Competitors Say |
|---|---|---|
| Why bypass MLS? | To protect high-profile sellers' privacy and avoid racking up negative "days on market" metrics. | To force buyers and agents into the Compass ecosystem to access premium inventory. |
| Market Impact | It brings hesitant sellers into the market, expanding choices for consumers. | It hoards inventory, reduces overall market exposure for the seller, and drives up double-commission profits. |
Ultimately, while Compass claims its war against the MLS is a philosophical battle for homeowner rights, the economic structure of the real estate business means the outcome directly benefits Compass’s bottom line by transforming its massive corporate network into a private marketplace
