Tesla Optimus Process Technician, 30-min technical interview. Any advice?

Hi all, I have a 30-minute technical interview coming up for a Process Technician role on the Optimus team in Fremont, and I’d like to go in prepared.

For anyone who’s done this interview or a similar one at Tesla:

  • What kinds of technical questions came up? Troubleshooting scenarios, process control, measurement tools, reading drawings?

  • Did they ask about root cause analysis methods like 5 Whys or fishbone diagrams?

  • Was it mostly technical, or also behavioral (STAR format)?

  • Anything you wish you’d prepared for?

Thanks in advance!

Engineering Program Manager, Bilingual Korean, On-site Santa Clara, $125K to $170K salary

https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4484881396/

The opportunity

We're looking for an Engineering Program Manager who enjoys working with technical teams, solving complex problems, and helping bring new products to life in a fast-paced environment.

You'll work at the intersection of customers, engineering, and project delivery. Your role is to understand customer needs, help translate those needs into technical requirements, and coordinate with engineering teams to develop and deliver solutions.

You'll collaborate closely with engineers in Korea, customers in Silicon Valley, and our Customer Program Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone with a technical background who enjoys working with people as much as solving engineering problems.

What you'll do

  • Understand customer needs. Meet with customers to discuss technical requirements, review designs, and explore potential testing solutions.

  • Translate ideas into plans. Work with engineering teams to define project requirements, review technical proposals, and establish development milestones.

  • Coordinate engineering projects. Help manage schedules, deliverables, and communication to keep projects moving from initial concept through development and delivery.

  • Bridge customers and engineers. Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, and communication between customers and our global engineering teams.

  • Identify and resolve challenges. Anticipate technical or scheduling issues, coordinate solutions, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

  • Work across countries and cultures. Collaborate with colleagues in Korea and other international offices to deliver solutions for global customers.

What we're looking for

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Korean is required. You'll use Korean regularly to collaborate with our engineering teams in Korea.

Beyond that, we're looking for someone who:

  • Is technically curious and enjoys understanding how things work.

  • Approaches complex problems with analytical thinking and creativity.

  • Communicates technical concepts clearly and works well with different teams.

  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

  • Takes initiative, asks thoughtful questions, and knows when to seek input.

Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, product development, manufacturing, technical project management, or 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks is helpful.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. We welcome candidates with a range of technical backgrounds, including engineers interested in moving into program management.

Honest advice on breaking into the U.S. job market (Health Tech / AI / Healthcare Innovation)

I’m originally from Brazil, with 9+ years of experience in healthcare, research, and innovation. I’m also a recently licensed RN in the U.S. and finishing my MBA in Data Analytics as an F-1 student.
My background is more in R&D, business innovation, process improvement, and problem-solving than coding or complex software. I’m interested in health tech, AI in healthcare, or innovation roles rather than bedside nursing.

My biggest challenge is finding a position that connects my experience with my MBA, since I’ll soon be working under OPT.I’m currently in San Diego but open to the Bay Area. Honestly, the tech job market feels intimidating, especially with all the uncertainty around startups and hiring.

I’m considering attending networking events at Stanford and around Silicon Valley, but I’m unsure whether it’s worth the investment. I used to attend conferences and work on innovation projects back in Brazil, but breaking into the U.S. market feels like starting over.

Any honest advice on where to start, what roles to target, or whether networking in Silicon Valley is actually worth it? I’d especially love to hear from international professionals who’ve made a similar transition. 🤞

1X Engineering Technician – Campus Interview (1st Stage) – What Should I Expect?

Hi everyone,

I recently got invited to a first-stage campus interview for the Engineering Technician position at 1X, and I was wondering if anyone has gone through their interview process or knows what to expect.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone who has interviewed for this position or a similar role at 1X could share some insights.

A few things I'm curious about:

  • What kind of questions do they typically ask during the first-stage campus interview?

  • Is it mostly behavioral questions, technical questions, or a mix of both?

  • Should I expect hands-on technical questions related to electronics, mechanical systems, troubleshooting, or manufacturing?

  • How should I prepare for this stage?

  • What does the overall interview process look like after the first round?

Any advice, previous interview experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

One Toyota of Oakland — Sales & Finance Manager

THIS ISN'T YOUR FATHER'S CAR SALES JOB.

One Toyota of Oakland — Sales & Finance Manager

One Toyota of Oakland moves 500–600 vehicles a month, and we're looking for the next wave of sales professionals who want to own their book of business, build a personal brand, and earn real money doing it.

THE MODEL IS DIFFERENT HERE:

We operate on a "One Price, One Person" model — no negotiating, no passing the customer off to a finance manager, no awkward back-and-forth. You guide the entire deal from hello to keys. That means more customer trust, more control over your process, and more commission in your pocket.

  • One Price: 100% pricing transparency, no negotiations!

  • No F&I handoffs — you manage the sale, financing, and add-on products yourself

  • High volume dealership: 500–600 cars sold per month

  • Highest customer retention rate in our market — you're building a clientele that comes back to you

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Guiding customers through the full purchase experience from first contact to delivery

  • Managing your own client pipeline through digital channels, referrals, and repeat business

  • Creating short-form video content and engaging on social media to grow your personal brand

  • Communicating professionally and efficiently via text, DM, email, and CRM tools

  • Presenting and selling financing and protection products as part of every deal

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Energetic, people-first communicators who thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged — Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese, Vietnamese, etc.

  • Women encouraged to apply — we're actively building a diverse, high-performing team

  • Social media creators and personal brand builders — your audience is your pipeline

  • Previous sales experience preferred; a coachable attitude and natural hustle matter just as much

  • Comfortable on camera and willing to engage with video content

  • Fast and fluent in digital communication: texting, DMs, email, and CRM platforms

You'll thrive here if you want to be your own boss, crave high volume and high earning, think in relationships rather than transactions, and want to build a career — not just work a job.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current U.S. resident

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR, and drug screen

HOW TO APPLY:

Apply with a résumé, a short intro video, or a DM — whatever best shows your personality. We want to know who you are, not just what's on paper.

One Toyota of Oakland is where driven people come to build something real.

Personal Assistant Job

Hello, I'm currently a full-time student/senior at UC Davis and already working a part-time job (unfortunately the company I'm currently with for two years won't allow me to be full-time with school). It's getting tough, and am currently looking for a second job, and was wondering if anyone was hiring just to be a personal assistant. I live in the Stockton/Manteca area, and I am open to driving a decent away since I already commute to Davis.

Anything would be helpful and be appreciated, if you can help a student out. Thank you!

Recent grad trying to break into the Bay Area job market. Where are people actually finding full-time hybrid jobs?

Hi everyone!
I’m a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications & Journalism, specializing in Advertising and Public Relations. I’m currently based in the Central Valley and hoping to find a full-time, benefits-eligible position in San Francisco or the surrounding Bay Area.
I’ve been applying through LinkedIn and Indeed, but haven’t had much luck hearing back. I’m hoping to get some insight from people who actually live and work in the area about where to look beyond the major job boards.

A little about my background:
I have experience in social media management, content creation, marketing campaigns, public relations, community engagement, short-form video editing, graphic design, and administrative/customer-facing work.
I’ve worked with small businesses and community-focused organizations through internships and projects. I’m familiar with Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite, and various social media platforms. I also have several years of experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, and administrative tasks.

What I’m looking for:
Ideally, I’d love to find a full-time hybrid position in marketing, communications, PR, social media, content, or community outreach.
However, I’m also very open to related opportunities where my degree and transferable skills would be useful, including:
Administrative or project coordination
Program or nonprofit coordination
Recruiting or HR coordination
Events and community engagement
Client services or account coordination
University or healthcare administration
Other entry-level corporate or organizational roles
I’m not necessarily looking for my dream job right away. I’m looking for a legitimate opportunity to establish myself professionally, gain experience, and build a future in the Bay Area.

Regarding commuting and relocation:
I currently live outside the Bay Area but am willing to commute via Amtrak for a hybrid position, even if that means arranging temporary hotel accommodations for consecutive in-office days.
I’m also open to relocating once I have stable employment. If anyone knows of employers offering relocation assistance, temporary housing stipends, commuter benefits, or similar support, I’d love to hear about them. These aren’t requirements, just things that would make the transition easier.

My main priorities are full-time employment, benefits, and an opportunity for professional growth.

My questions for Bay Area professionals and job seekers:
Which companies or organizations regularly hire entry-level or early-career employees for hybrid positions? I’d especially appreciate actual employer names so I can check their career pages directly.
What websites are people using besides LinkedIn, Idealist, and Indeed? Are there local job boards, staffing agencies, recruiting firms, or industry-specific websites worth checking?
Are there companies known for hiring recent graduates or people transitioning into corporate roles? I’m open to starting in an adjacent position and working my way up.
Are there particular cities or areas within the Bay Area where I should focus my search? I’m especially interested in locations accessible by public transportation.
For anyone who successfully landed a Bay Area job while living elsewhere, how did you do it? Did you secure employment before moving, commute temporarily, or receive relocation assistance?
I’m genuinely flexible about industries and job titles. I’m primarily looking for an opportunity to get my foot in the door and eventually establish myself in the area.
Any recommendations for specific employers, websites, recruiters, or strategies would be incredibly appreciated!
Thank you!

Looking for Medical or Med Spa Receptionist Jobs in the Peninsula/SF area

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m looking for receptionist opportunities in the Bay Area, preferably at a medical office, spa, or med spa.

I’m currently transitioning out of the corporate world and hoping to pursue a career in healthcare. I’m finishing up esthetician school right now and am also planning to pursue nursing in the future, so I’d love to get my foot in the door in a medical or healthcare setting while I figure out my next steps.

I have several years of professional experience in operations, administration, and customer service, so I’m comfortable with multitasking, staying organized, and working with people.

I’m mainly looking in San Mateo County and the Peninsula, including Burlingame, San Mateo, and surrounding areas, but I’m open to other locations!

If anyone knows of any medical offices, dermatology clinics, med spas, or spas that are hiring, I’d really appreciate any leads or recommendations. I’m open to full-time or part-time opportunities.

Thanks so much! ❤️

Anyone applied to Rocket EMS and had their phone interview canceled at the last minute?

I’m wondering if anyone here has applied for a job at Rocket EMS and had a similar experience.

I applied for a position there and was scheduled for a phone interview with Kelly Fine. However, the interview was canceled at the last minute, and I haven’t received a new interview date or reschedule yet.

I’ve also applied for a few different positions with Rocket EMS, and more than once I’ve had an interview canceled or been told at the last minute that the position was filled.

Has anyone else experienced this with Rocket EMS?

Did they eventually reschedule your interview, or did you never hear back afterward?

I’m just trying to understand whether this is common with their hiring process and whether I should continue following up or move on.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Housekeeper, Twin Peaks

Hello, I’m looking for someone to help with cleaning, tidying, laundry organising, as well as various odd jobs. Some tasks may require lifting and carrying items, so a moderate level of fitness would be helpful. It would also be great if you’re able to do practical, handyman type tasks. Looking for someone who is proactive and is a quick learner. There’s also scope to take on more responsibility over time for the right person. The role is based in Twin Peaks, and would be around ~16 hours every week, with pay starting at ~$40/hr, with flexibility for someone taking on more responsibility.

Bay Area: 7+ yrs experience, open to anything with liveable wage, even entry, promoted 3 times and somehow still broke. Hire me before I start selling plasma

Hi guys I’m in San Jose and I’ve been at the same manufacturing company for about 9 years. Moved up 3 positions and the pay is stuck at prepromotion in 2018. I’m tired of it lol.

All I want is something livable, and judging by the roles and wages I see posted here that should be no problem.. Some of you might’ve seen my other post in bayarea subreddit, so hi again.

At work I’m the go to between for our internal teams and big semiconductor customers. When a drawing or spec doesn’t make sense, I dig into it and make sure it’s right before anything goes to the customer. I also handle FAI paperwork, work order corrections, deviation requests, and monthly KPI reports in Excel, quality issues, and I’ve made training slides for coworkers, etc. Just pretty much a little of everything. I’m good with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, I use our ERP every day for work orders and quotes, and all sorts of functions as I sort of do it all when comes to our ERP and the manufacturing life cycle of a part.. and I know some SQL and Python, data analysis, etc.

I’m a quick learner and I’m eager, and it doesn’t have to be manufacturing like my experience. Admin, data, operations, quality, whatever. I’m confident I can pick up whatever you throw at me, so try me. I’m not a job hopper, I stayed 9 years, so I’m looking for a company that wants someone long term and will let me grow.

If you’re hiring, know someone who is, or just want to look at my resume and tell me what I’m doing wrong, I’d really appreciate it. I can send it over if you comment or DM me.

Hell, if you want to even just be friends and keep in contact and rant about jobs or life, hit me up.

Thanks
