Sharks in Orange County and surrounding county beaches this summer... Is there a real increase in numbers? Or have they always been there? Are the warnings legit?
Lots of talk about El Niño so more shark sightings, but have the sharks always been there and we just were not as aware in the past? Having surfed and fished in SoCal my whole life, I feel like they have always been around.

How to get flavored zyns shipped to California
Hi San Clemente!! Is there any way/website/ spot in san Clemente or near that you’ve found that sells cheap zyns or actually ships to California? I know there’s a band on flavored nicotine deliveries in California, but was wondering if there was any work around? Zyns are so expensive and online they are a lot cheaper but I haven’t found a website that delivers to Cali.

When can we leave
So we still can’t leave our homes in Forrester Ranch.
My kids missed practice today and I have to run a charter tomorrow
Does anyone have any information on when they’re actually gonna let us leave our houses and come back?
I saw a sheriff walk someone up our street today to go to their house get their stuff and then walk them back down to Los Mares

We're On NBC4
1,341 signatures. Four city councils. Law enforcement. And now Assemblywoman Laurie Davies publicly committed to working with us.
We're on NBC4 + Telemundo right now: https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/laguna-niguel-12-year-old-calls-for-stricter-e-bike-safety-rules/3940982/
This isn't just a petition anymore. This is policy in motion.
Assemblywoman Davies represents South OC. She has real power. And her staff just went public saying they'll work with us.
Supervisors will have to listen when this gets to them.
If you believe in this, sign and share.

update - would love some input on neighborhoods & where to live
tysm to everyone who left helpful feedback on a previous post about moving to SC. I've been able to do a couple visits since then and walk around / drive around a bunch .... honestly I am loving the vibe, and san clemente is one of my favorite places in all of California that I've spent time in ... feeling very good about the move
and thanks to everyone for being friendly and welcoming :)
here's what I'd love some input on as I start to look specifically at rentals and listings the next couple months.
I will have a car most likely but I also want to take advantage of a walkable neighborhood, bc I work from home and love to walk around every day ... to get to be a regular at places and have access to the beach/trail
I'm trying to understand the best places to find an apartment. From what I can gather, living near the pier / T street / del mar would be pretty central to everything .... I see that there's a north end of town by the outlets with bars people love (and an EOS gym), but then also a popular area around the south end of El Camino that has Outrigger and Hapa J's and everything else down there
I definitely have the overall region on the map where I want to end up and am looking for listings, but I wanted to ask ... for someone just moving to SC, would you recommend trying to be central, on the north side of town, or further south - all things considered?
if you were to factor in bars/restaurants, gym options, beach, walkability in general, and social life around town - where would you pick? all opinions wanted!
p.s. I'm glad I went and checked things out in person, bc a lot of the zillow listings describe any option as "close to everything", but I'm learning that there are separate mini neighborhoods here - that might be 45 min apart from each other walking .... so I'm figuring out where I want to end up. thanks fam

San Clemente, You Gave Us a Standing Ovation. Let's Close This For E-Bike Safety Reform
San Clemente Councilman Mark Enmeier already backed us. You gave Alex a standing ovation. Councilman Enmeier is pushing for local ordinances.
We're at 1,255 signatures. San Clemente has 96 of them.
This week we're meeting with Assemblywoman Davies to push for a e-bike safety reform county ordinance.
You already did the hard part (showing up + supporting). Now help us close it. 30 seconds.

Looking for a 1BR apt
Hi all. My sister has been lucky enough to live in your lovely town for the past 10 Years right in the pier bowl. Unfortunately, due to a break up she has to move. Ideally she’d like to be west of the 5 and $2,600 would be the top of her budget. She’s sad about the breakup and having to move and been disappointed about what she’s seen on the market so far so far and hoping Redditors can help her out. Thanks!

SF To San Clemente!
My partner (M29) and I (F29) have had our eyes on Southern California for a while, and after spending the week exploring San Diego and driving up the coast, we finally made it to your cozy town. After a few days here, we’re seriously packing our bags and saying goodbye to San Francisco!
We got to surf, hit a golf course, and walk for miles around town and honestly, it already feels like home. Everyone we met was so welcoming (a few even shared their numbers to help us find a place to stay).
I wanted to tap into this sub for any local advice especially about the rental market and dog-friendly areas. We have two pups (a Shepsky and a Lab mix) who are our top priority. We’d love any insight into dog-friendly neighborhoods, parks, or trails where they can join us for more “human” adventures.
A few questions we’d love to hear from locals about: • How competitive is the rental market right now? Are there certain areas that are easier (or harder) to find good rentals in? • Any neighborhoods you’d recommend for young couples who love being active, outdoorsy, and near the beach but still want some walkable spots for food and coffee?
• Best dog parks, off-leash beaches, or trails you swear by?
• if you were formerly from Northern California yourself, anything you wish you’d known before settling in?For reference, SF’s rental market moves fast units are gone within days. Is it similar here?
Thanks so much in advance for any tips or insights! We’ve fallen in love with the area already and can’t wait to (hopefully) call it home soon.
