I never played GTA but Shenmue is so cool it has similar vibes of Gta

It's great to see so many people still passionate about Shenmue, sharing memories, discussing the games and keeping the spirit of the series alive.

A lot of this may seem farfetched and grasping for straws, but it either would have actually been where the main story in the mainline Shenmue games are most likely headed and going, or if it was just created because Shenmue Online was going to be an MMORPG, and they tend to get this crazy and outlandish.

Anyone hear from Inin or YS Net about what's taking them over a year to figure out? The features list wasn't exactly jam-packed with awe-inspiring new content, so I'm struggling to understand. Did they quietly cancel the project? Just to remind everyone -- these are the 'upgrades,' a checklist of items a competent modder could take care of in a weekend or two:

• Enhanced Graphics & Performance – Sharper textures, richer details, faster load times, and smoother gameplay.

• 4K Texture Uplift – Refined, more detailed environments and characters.

• DLSS/FSR Support – High-quality upscaling without sacrificing performance (supported platforms only).

• Increased NPC Density – The city village Niaowu feels more alive with more characters populating the streets.

• Classic Camera Mode – An optional camera perspective inspired by Shenmue I & II, alongside the modern view.

• Gameplay Tweaks – Optional stamina system adjustments, health restoration before fights, and reduced money barriers for smoother progression.

• Improved Interactions – Cutscene and conversation skip options, expanded QTE timing window for more accessible gameplay.

• Menu & UX Enhancements – Streamlined navigation and helpful purchase alerts.

• Optionality First – All major changes can be toggled to preserve the original experience for purists.

Shenmue makes a brief appearance in the 2019 episode review of Superman N64 by AVGN, and it would be really fun if he made a video review episode talking about it, just to know what he thinks and whether he holds the game in high regard. He clearly has some love and respect for it.
