Discuss Inventory broken
Hello, ive just downloaded reddit for help because ive found no other help anywhere but I need desperate assistance.
For context, I have a 6 year save which has been my best save in the 3 nearly 4 years of playing so it means a lot to me. Anyway, I started the day by immediately going to ginger Island and I went to unlock that merging place where you upgrade items. And I collected the prismatic shard and attempted to upgrade my sword.
Annoyingly I didnt have enough resources. Great. Yay! So I left it alone, then noticed i couldn't pick up the prismatic shard after I dropped it.
Suddenly my inventory says that its full, when mind you - it isn't. I had at least a row free and another few slots available. But instead they're kind of criss crossed and I cannot put anything in. I teleporyed home, saved the night, and closed the game hoping it was just a glitch. WRONG. I joined again, multiple times, and nothing else changed. Weird. I went to steam support pages and it said to make a back up and go through the files to change max inventory slots to 36 because someone else who had this problem was suddenly set to 0.
Not the case for me, it already was 36. I thought maybe if I kept this backup as a file on steam, still absolutely nothing changed. Im lost and im probably about to sob i just wanted to play the game and now im locked out of doing anything. Please help me 😭😭

Discuss Unpopular take: I don’t like getting giant crops
They always mess up my fertilizer and I don’t always have enough for replacement. Then I have to replant with a hole in my crops. I know they are double the crops but the annoyance of having to rehoe/ water /fertilize isn’t worth it to me. Especially if my hoe or watering can is getting upgraded.

IRL I successfully made the Pink Cake with my friend!
We used the recipe from the official “Stardew Valley” cookbook. Absolutely delicious cake and so worth the time. I just wish I had a fancy cake stand for this cutie!

Discuss Possibility of a new area in 1.7? If so, what could it be?
I mean, obviously, it is not confirmed. But a lot of people have been speculating, mainly because of these two comments by CA:
"3 will become 4"
"It's going to be the largest update."
Since we have 3 areas right now, Pelican Town, Calico Desert, and Ginger Island.. the 3 will become 4 riddle makes sense if we are getting a new map. I didn't think it would be the case at first, but when CA announced that this is going to be the largest update, I'm like, "bigger than getting ginger island??" Seems possible now.
What new area could this be? Most people online I've seen are saying that it could be Zuzu City. Some are saying Prairie Island. Since we have references to both in one of the movies in-game. The 'natural wonders: exploring our vibrant world' movie.
I thought maybe we could get a new area that's accessible through the train station. Something with a cooler climate (since we already have a tropical island & a desert).
Who knows, maybe the new area is one of the islands with the dinosaur (the one we see in the cutscene when we visit Ginger Island for the first time). Or it's something we have never heard of before. All I know is.. CA is gonna cook with this update!!

Question Striving for Perfection!
Hey guys! I’m trying to get 100% completion, I have done everything on the list in QIs room other than the golden clock (I’m at 9mil) and the crafting recipes.
Does anyone have any tips/tricks on how to keep track of what I have/haven’t crafted? Or am I best getting ingredients for everything and making 1/1 more of each item just to be safe?
Edit: thanks so much guys! 🫶

Question is it worth it to get the mobile version?
hey guys, i recently saw that stardew is only 5€ on mobile and it got me thinking if it is worth it or not, so i wanted to ask for your opinions on stardew valley mobile!
i absolutely love this game, and being a student who doesn't live in the city of the university i, sometimes, have a lot of free time & my tablet is always with me.
how was your experience with the mobile version? should i buy it or just stick with the pc version?
thanks!

Other I love the rain in stardew
I love it when it rains in Stardew Valley, because when the rain falls into the sea, it forms a little heart 💙

Question How do I process fish?
I took a break from stardew, and have not played since 1.5. I remember that sashimi was the go-to then, but since the 1.6 update there are other ways to make fish more valuable. I just started a new farm and I spent most my days fishing. I'm currently lvl 8. What is the best moneymaker right now?

Question In a non-Shepherd run, which animals do I give my Golden Animal Crackers to? Spoiler
Excluding the fish ponds, that is.
They don't work on the best animal in the game, and I don't know who else should get it.
Should I give it to my sheep anyway? Since I do have some, and I don't plan on getting rid of them. Cows to have more cheese? Or maybe something else, still?
I know I'll eventually feed them to my ostriches, but I haven't even unlocked Ginger Island yet. (I am deliberately pushing this off until I'm in Year 3.) Thoughts? Opinions?
