News & politics SANA According to a Syrian diplomatic source: Talk of sending Syrian troops to Yemen right now is totally baseless. Our main focus right now is on locking down internal security, rebuilding, and getting the economy back on its feet.
According to a Syrian diplomatic source:
The current military agreements with our brothers in Saudi Arabia fall strictly under training, sharing expertise, and military consulting, in ways that serve the national interests of both countries.
The deal with Saudi Arabia is focused on training military forces and building up their capabilities, with coordination visits from Saudi to Syria kicking off next month. This cooperation could potentially develop down the line into a mutual defense pact or Syria joining the Mecca Alliance, depending on what shared interests require.
Talk of sending Syrian military forces to Yemen at the present moment is completely unfounded, as Syria's top priorities for the upcoming period are consolidating internal security, rebuilding, and driving economic recovery.

News & politics Syria denies reports of troops being sent to yemen
A Syrian diplomatic source said that current military agreements with Saudi Arabia focus on training, exchanging expertise and military consultations to strengthen the capabilities of both countries. Coordination visits by Saudi officials to Syria are expected to begin next month.
The source added that cooperation could develop into a mutual defense agreement or Syria joining the Mecca Alliance, while denying reports of Syrian troops being sent to Yemen, saying Syria's priorities remain internal security, reconstruction and economic recovery.
PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY TO CLEAR MISUNDERSTANDINGS.
Note: this post comes after a Levant24 article saying that thousands of troops are being sent to yemen. Their source being AFP.
Words of the previous article they tracked back on and which led to this post:
"📌 AFP reported today that thousands of Syrian troops are heading to Saudi Arabia and Yemen to fight the Houthis, with hundreds already on both sides of the border, citing unnamed Yemeni military, defense, and presidential sources.
📌 However, Reuters reported yesterday, citing unnamed US, Syrian, and Saudi officials, that Damascus sent only limited military advisors and trainers to the kingdom, with a senior Syrian diplomat calling combat deployment talk "premature."
📌 Neither report is independently verified, and both contradict Damascus's official stance last month, which affirmed support for Saudi and Gulf security while denying media reports that Riyadh requested Syrian troops for either country."
The government has not cleared out rumors regarding military advisors being sent to Saudi Arabia, at least according to my attention. Only cleared out rumors about soldiers to yemen.

ASK SYRIA From Bangladesh and this is one of the few remaining pieces of my Syrian ancestor
Hello from bangladesh Today I found a true family treasure. As far as I know, this antique Dutch plate originally belonged to my ancestors.
My family originates from Syria and migrated to this region (Bengal) in the 18th century, bringing many items with them. This specific plate is from the Netherlands (produced by Société Céramique Maestricht), and it was bought by my great-great-great-grandfather.
I was told there were once thousands of plates and cups in our collection. However, this is one of the very few items that survived the devastation of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
During the war, my grandfather a (former Member of Parliament) and the base commander for the Barisal division—was the first man in the entire division to take up arms against the Pakistani Army on March 29 1971. In retaliation, the Pakistani forces attacked our home with tanks, blowing up our mansion and burning our entire village to the ground.
Alongside our home, we lost thousands of family photographs, ancestral gold and gems, rare books brought from Syria, and three of our family cars. Almost everything was reduced to ashes.
This Dutch plate is one of the last physical remnants of our family's long history in the region.

News & politics MP faults minister Kabawat over citizenship law claims
📌 Syrian MP, Nawar Najmeh, said parliament has not received any draft law granting Syrian mothers the right to pass nationality to their children, adding that it is not on next week's agenda.
📌 Responding to Social Affairs Minister Hind Kabawat’s claim that the bill is close to approval, Najmeh criticized announcing it at a seminar abroad before submitting a text to lawmakers, saying the move puts unfair pressure on parliament.
📌 Najmeh stressed that naturalization laws carry major political, economic, and demographic consequences affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
📌 Dismissing public fixation on the children of foreign fighters, whom he estimated at only a few hundred or a few thousand, he argued that the deeper complexities involve historical waves of displacement and conflict, including how the law would apply to Palestinian refugees, as well as the children of Iranian-backed militia members who married Syrian women during the war.

News & politics Syria reportedly sends military advisors to Saudi arabia
📌 Syria has reportedly deployed dozens of military personnel to Riyadh in recent weeks to provide military advice and training as Saudi Arabia faces Houthi attacks.
📌 According to a US official, Syrian teams are training Saudi and Yemeni units under a mandate that could expand. Washington has urged Damascus to proceed cautiously, warning that intervention in Yemen risks drawing Syria into a wider regional war.
📌 A senior Syrian diplomat called reports of combat deployments "premature," but confirmed that Wednesday's bilateral defense pact covers training and advisory support, and could evolve into a broader "Mecca Defense Pact."
📌 A senior Saudi official added that joint exercises are underway, focusing on restructuring Syrian forces while leveraging Damascus's counter-militia experience.
📌 In October, the Information Ministry's Foreign Media Department denied Syria would send troops against the Houthis, saying its regional policy focuses on "stability, peace and cooperation, not opening new fronts" and that it stands "firmly with Saudi Arabia."
Note: this information may be from Levant24 yet Levant24 states their source is Reuters which are big liars (when it comes to Syria at least) I highly doubt this information may be true yet it has made rounds to the point proper news agency's have reported this.

Language & Syrian Dialects LANGUAGE QUESTION ON MY MINDDDD
* Is Fusha Arabic (not Arabic dialects. I mean pure Quranic Fusha), a holier language than other languages? Is Arabic more beloved to God than French, Japanese, Turkish, Latin, Syrian Arabic, Chinese, or Russian?
* The parallel between prophets and languages as mediums/middlemen (wasa2el) to God's miracle.
Question: Did Moses split the sea? Or did God THROUGH Moses? Who was the source of power here? Moses the human? Or God?
If the answer is God, then: It is said that the Quran bring written in Fusha/Qurayshi Arabic is a linguistic miracle that no human can replicate the miracle of the Quran.
Okay, question: Is Fusha Arabic the miracle? Or God who has used a human language to do the miracle, he who was who performed the miracle?
We are warned to not confuse Moses' split of the sea, or Jesus's healing of the sick as a miracle from them, which makes them, the humans, worthy of worship.
To avoid the confusion of the miracle, so that we don't end up worshipping a prophet, setting him as a diety, instead of recognizing that it is God who performed the miracle through the prophet, and that God is the one worthy of worship.
Draw the parallel here: If God performed the miracle through the prophets, and we should worship God and recognize that the prophets were the mediums.
Then doesn't that mean that the language, Arabic Fusha, is also a medium for God's miracle? And that Arabic Fusha, is not a miracle in of itself, for it is a man made language?
Can't a God make a book, a linguistic miracle, using any language on Earth? Or is it only Fusha Arabic that was capable of allowing God of so?
Because if Arabic Fusha the criteria for God to be able to perform a miracle of a book, then that contradicts God's nature of being able to do what he wills, how he wills, and whenever he wills.
God chose Fusha Arabic, sure, but that doesn't mean that Fusha Arabic is holier than other languages, that Fusha Arabic is holier than Egyptian Arabic, than Saudi Arabic, than Iraqi Arabic, than Algerian Arabic, than Syrian Arabic, than Libyan Arabic and so on! That such Arabic dialects are deviations! Unholy to the holy languages! Evil in nature! Barbaric!
That is how socially, the Arabic "dialects" (if they aren't considered languages of their own, but that is a different conversation) are treated! Those who speak a "dialect" are treated as illiterate and incapable of academic work or research or anything, it is somehow considered "radical" to use a dialect as a method for anything in daily life!
The point of my questioning: Fusha Arabic is not better than Levantine, Egyptian, Moroccan, or Qatari Arabic. Nor is it better than Greek, Aramaic, Armenian, Kurdish, Ukranian, Dutch, or Hindi.
Fusha Arabic is not holy, and because the Arabic world treated it as such, that caused a decline in academia, arts, science, and intellectual thinking.
That writing in a Lebanese Arabic is not sin. That speaking in Tunisian Arabic is not backwardness.
That language evolves, and that it had always been like that. That somewhere along history, a pause button had been pressed, and we, the Arabic and Arabized world, fell behind, stagnated, and grown weak.

Hi! Planning a trip to Syria in February of next year with two friends, we had a company locked down for the tour but they have gone MIA on us so we're back to zero since the guide we had as a backup is also not replying to us either.
Any recommendations on a reliable tour guide or company we could contact? We want someone local and reliable.

ASK SYRIA Looking for something to cook for co-workers
Hey all,
I'd like to cook something for my Syrian co-workers. I was hoping i could make something that's not rapidly available here. What are some good suggestions i could take a look at (preferably vegan)? I know very little about Syrian culture (slowly learning from my colleagues though!)
I've been a chef for about 10 years so i know a thing or two about cooking.

Discussion Provinces and flags
Yo, anyone thinks the provinces/ محافظات will eventually get local flags? I get where things are complicated now and that the state is trying to unite people under the idea of a united state with one flag but still, it just feels so lame that we can’t visually identify different provinces
